Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Jack caught the Quaffle and sped to the center of the pitch, turning her broom so she was facing James. She squinted and then leaned back, hurtling the Quaffle with all her might. With that, she flattened herself on her broom and zoomed forward, barely catching the Quaffle. Damn, she was rusty.

She rolled midair as though warding off an attacker and then looped mid-air, tossing the Quaffle towards the middle hoop which was about twenty feet away. The toss itself was accurate, but she had not put enough power behind it to push it past James. He would probably get it.

James watched her do her thing and then throw the Quaffle towards her.

James was out of it and he didn't know why. But either way he caught the Quaffle with barley any work.

He look at the Quaffle he just caught and looked up at Jack. He shrugged and threw it back over to her.

Jack caught the Quaffle and looked down. Trick techniques were risky but usually had great results. She held the Quaffle high in the air and scooted a little closer. "Keep your eye on the ball, D'Eath!" She lowered it to her abdomen and lowered her head, pulling hard on the neck of the broom. It began spinning in tight circles, gaining speed. Jack waited and waited until finally she was close to falling, before flinging the Quaffle towards the far left hoop, sure she had caught James offguard.

Jack shouted an order at James and he ignored it. Quidditch seemed to put him off guard.

She threw the Quaffle toward him.

"Are you trying to catch me off guard? Because that didn't go well last time." James said with no emotion.

"Here." He said as he threw he Quaffle back to Jack.

Jack shrugged. "Just practicing my trick plays." She caught the Quaffle again and brought back her right arm with it, pointing the Quaffle for the left hoop. Chastise her all he wanted, but James obviously did not agree with Jack about surprises. Jack thought Quidditch was all about keeping your opponent on the edge of their broomseat. Her arm flung towards the left, but she allowed the Quaffle to roll up her palm and hurtle towards the right hoop.

James noticed Jack getting ready to throw towards the hoop on his left so he flied over.

Jack threw the Quaffle towards the right hoop and momentarily James was surprised and he flew towards the right hoop. Just in time, James caught the Quaffle. It hit his stomach and he held on to it.

"You are just full of surprises aren't you." James laughed.

He barely caught it but Jack cursed quietly to herself so he could not hear her. She had never been much of a Chaser, but she had still been able to beat everyone on her team. Her version of mediocre for herself was advanced for the normal being.

Jack had one trick play left. This she had been taught by the Falmouth recruiter himself. She would do it. First, she needed the Quaffle back. All business, she whistled. "Can I have the Quaffle, or are you going to hug it all day?"

James shook his head. "Huh? Yeah. Here." James threw the Quaffle back towards Jack.

James figured she would try another surprise, so he'd just go along with it.

She caught it and turned it over in her hands. The one time she had tried this move, she had crashed into the pole and knocked over the Keeper. It was alright though. She had made all the adjustments and corrections in her head. She didn't think this would kill him.

She didn't think.

She lowered herself flat against the broom, the Quaffle slung in her right arm, and she flew forard, picking up speed. By the time she had mexed out, she was drawing close to James. She slowed the moment down in her head and carefully watched as the tip of her broomstick neared his knee (that was how close she was), her head appearing as though it would ram straight into his abdomen, and then- in the blink of an eye- she whipped her broom to the right and sunk the Quaffle towards the third hoop. This was a trick shown to her by professionals- and she had just done it without injury.

James watched her. She was getting a bit to close for his liking. He waited. Right as she was getting ready to throw, he flew to the left. The Quaffle went into the hoop.

"Are you trying to kill me?" James yelled at her.
