LONDON CALLING

"Let's get out of here," Marcus said, offering a set of cuffs to Rowan, "Rowan, let's make sure these doofuses don't cause us any trouble on the way back. He's got the werewolf, so you and I can manage the others." He handcuffed two of the young thugs together and then clutched onto one of them, leaving the other two for Rowan.

Marcus apparated home, taking two thugs with him. He landed on the grass in the back yard.

"Thank you, Jess," Angus said. "That's a huge relief. It isn't like Edward to be caught unaware, but I'm sure it could happen to any one of us if we let our guard down even for a moment."

"We really can't afford to do that right now," Robert said. "Letting our guards down while Gelding is doubly angry is a very dangerous thing to do. I think we're all going to have to stay on alert, especially those of us that would like to think we're flying under Gelding's radar."

"Do we know where Gelding's based now?" Angus asked.

"Yes," Robert said. "We do. I've had Michael making trips to Paris to talk to our informants." He glanced out the window and saw Marcus and the others arrive.

"Well, well," Robert said. "The boys have brought us some hostages. That might be useful indeed--if Gelding responds. If not, we'll turn them over to the aurors and get them off our hands."

"Were those the ones that attacked Edward?" Angus asked.

"I wouldn't be a bit surprised," Robert said. "We don't leave ambushes unanswered. That's not what we do. If Gelding doesn't want his boys back, we might need to pay him a housecall."

"I want in, Robert," Angus said.

"If it comes to that, we'll talk," Robert said, not certain that it would be wise to take Angus, with no magic, straight into Gelding's lair. That was not something Robert was anxious to support, and Angus knew it.

Rowan took the cuffs and put them on the men then taking hold of two of them he nodded he was ready " ready" he said simply to Marcus.

Jess smiled at Angus " your welcome , as I told Edward its what we do for family" she said and took a sip of her drink " god thats good" she said as she listened to Rober and angus talk she saw Ruby becoming anxiuos over Angus going into a fight " Robert will talk to him, don't worry." she said and she saw her relax and nod" thats better " she said.Ruby made a batch of cookies and lay them on the cooling wire to cool for those who wanted any then set about making a caserolle for supper. Jesie walked in from the grounds and looked at Robert.

 "Everything is moving like clock work, no incidents to report " he told him before he took a hot cookie and tossed it from one hand to the other until it had cooled.

"serves you right, there right out the oven" Ruby called to Jessie with a smirk.

Michael apparated in, and he looked around.

"Where are the boys?" he asked.

"With Kate in the studio," Robert said.

"I'll go bring the three of them in," Michael said. "Heads up, All. Our informants just saw a lot of action in Paris, and then more action here. Seems like broom flyers ported over from Paris, using Suzanne's old house as a landing zone, and now they're headed here. Our informant counted at least 13 flyers."

"Wands at the ready," Robert ordered them all, as Michael apparated over to the studio to get Kate and the boys back inside the main house. "Where's Abbey? Let's see if the boys won't keep her occupied inside when Michael gets them back." Michael wasn't gone sixty seconds before he was apparating back with Kate and both boys in tow.

"Jess," Robert said, "go up and warn Edward and Nigel. Let's make sure everyone knows we're about to have company." He signaled Brian and then he shouted outside to Rowan and Marcus.

"Get the hostages into the barn now! Flyers headed this way! Move!" Robert shouted at Marcus, Jack, and Rowan. "Wands up and ready."

Jack moved the young wear to the barn along with teh other men and palced them in one of the stalls designed to hold strong animals " they won't get out of there so easie" he said leaving the cuffs on the other men " you!" he said to the young wear " do not do anything to cross me" he saw the man nodd and sit down in a courner. " hum good" Rowan took out his wand as did Jack. Ruby headed to the play room and scooped up Abby and brought her down to sit next to Angus while Jess took out her wand and headed up to Edward's room knocking she didn't wait for them to awnser before entering.

 " sorry, but we got bad news on the way,  broom flyers in bound 13 flyers. he said " Jes looked at Simone and Edward " just be ready" she told them both.

"Abs," Angus said, "come up here with me." She didnt have to be told twice. She climbed up with him.

"Bad men," she said, nodding.

"Yes, but you're always safe with me," he told her. She curled into him, content just to be with him. Brian apparated in from the Ministry.

"Gelding's men approaching on brooms," Michael told him.

"Like shooting fish in a barrel, Michael," Brian told him.

"Well, yes, unless they've improved," Michael agreed. Upstairs, Edward and Simone looked at Jess when she told them there were enemies approaching.

"Thank you," Edward said. He looked at Simone. "They're after Angus, you know, and our new grandsons."

"They aren't going to get anybody," Simone got to her feet, drawing her wand.

"That's my girl," Edward smiled at her, unwilling to back down from protecting his family. They got up and came downstairs, wands drawn.

"Are you up to this?" Robert asked them.

"To protect our family? Absolutely," Edward said.

"Good. Stay close to Angus and the boys unless I need you outside," Robert told them. "Kate, you're with me." Nigel and Lee came down from upstairs, and Lee was looking around.

"Where's Andrew?" Lee asked.

"God, he's over at the duplex unpacking new medical supplies," Nigel said.

"I'll go," Lee said, knowing the flyers would likely try to hit the duplex again. Lee apparated out to go get Andrew. Angus saw the boys draw their wands.

"Now, wait a minute, you two," Angus said. "You don't go anywhere or fire those wands unless Robert tells you to. You're both here inside with me, unless he says otherwise."

"I have a job for you two," Robert looked at them. "Stay here and help Edward and Simone protect Angus and Abbey. Don't fire unless this house is breeched. But stay with them. It's your dad they want."

"Well, that's just too bad, isn't it?" Sam replied, unafraid. "They can't have him."

Ruby let Abby go to Angus as she took out her wand and moved to the back door watching as the sky seem to fill with small dots as the fliers appeared in the sky. Moving back to Angus she gave him a kiss " I have to help" she said and stood up smiling abck at him as she left the house to stand on the porch. Jess heard Robert with teh boys and nodded she agreed.

"specialist bodyguard" she said to them both with a smile " nice" she moved with Michael and Ruby out into the yard waiting for them. Jack , Jessie and Rowan joined them Rowan moving to stand with his dad.

"so this is how the fun begins" he said his wand held at waist hight as he waited for them to make the first move. " they will go for the duplex first , right." he said glancing at the semi distroyed home.

"Have fun," Angus cast her a smile, knowing that beneath the anxiety, she did really want to be a fighter. He was glad to see her go with them. Brian, Edward and Simone went outside, and Robert and Kate joined Michael. Lee and Andrew apparated out of the duplex and they deliberately took hidden positions in the woods on the back side of the duplex. Marcus saw Khaat arrive home from St. Mungos, and she joined him on the lawn, standing shoulder to shoulder with him, drawing her wand as well.

"Well, feel like a little target practice, do you?" Marcus laughed.

"Absolutely," she said. Brian glanced back and saw her standing close to Marcus. he was glad to see she was at least being practical about it.

"Be careful," he told her.

"Always," she grinned. Marcus looked down at her feet and saw she was in her heels. He flicked his wand at them to change her shoes to sneakers. She flashed him a scowl and then focused on the sight in front of them. Robert started counting heads of what he had. He counted.

"I count 16 to their 13," Robert called to them. "We should have this unless we buggar it up."

"This is exactly how it begins, but we will finish it," Michael told Rowan. "They will go for wherever they think Angus will be." He gave it only a second's thought, and then he wove a hasty spell to cause an illusion over the duplex to make it appear as if it had been fully restored, hoping to draw the flyers, as they arrived, to the duplex and not the main house. He didn't want the flyers having any chance of getting Angus, Abbey or the boys.

"Nice job, Michael," Robert said, glad Michael had thought of it and almost kicking himself that he hadn't thought of it himself.

Ruby moved to stand next to Edward she watched as everyone prepared for the fight to come " so we out number them" she asked as she studied the sky " some are falling for it the others are coming for us" she noted. Jessie moved to stand at her other side while Jack stood with Robert and Jess.

"we'll take the ones on the right side." Jack said Jess nodded " Ruby Jessie take the left if any head to the main house." Jessie and Ruby nodded " hopefully Michaels illushion works and they head to the duplex." he said noting some break away and head that direction.

"Yes," Edward replied. "We do, and we're also more experienced. He's right. We should have this."

Michael saw a flyer start to fire in Ruby and Jessie's direction, and Michael sent a fireball at the flyer, caught the broom on fire, and the flyer crashed into the yard in front of the duplex. The flyer didn't get up straight off, so Michael realigned his focus to another flyer.

Robert and Kate each took out a flyer, and those flyers also crashed into the yard, their brooms demolished.

Edward caught the scent of something on the air, and it perked him up straight. In the trees, Lee was just catching something on the evening breeze as it was getting dark. It was a scent he knew, coming in on the wind from the north.

"Werewolves!" Edward shouted. "They're up in the north sector, and they're on foot and coming this way. It isn't over yet, Boys and Girls!" There hadn't been any howling but if there was one thing Edward knew it was how to tell when werewolves were in the area. And this was enough of a full moon, that they were not likely to be even remotely human when they arrived.

Michael and Robert got the full picture at the same time. Gelding had used the flyers as a distraction. The werewolves were a second wave. There was no way to know yet if there was going to be a third wave or not, but Robert wasn't going to underestimate it.

Ruby and Jessie aimed at one fired at them Ruby put up a shield but Michael got to him first as they focused on two others that flew towards them. Jack heard werewolves and smirked " not on my patch," he said as he howled. Then after a moment more howls echoed in return as several wolves ran along the tree line right to the area of the werewolves " my pack will take care of them for the moment, we've been training them too. " he said to Edward with a smirk then shrugged. Jess chuckled and took down a third and fourth man from their broom. 

Rowan stood with his father taking down teh men like a pro. each time they would aim at him he would move slightly to make them miss but remebered Marcus mention of his stance and it worked like a dream. untill he was hit and thrown backwards onto his back on the grass " sit that hurt" he said and got back up ignoring the pain from his shoulder.
