Making a offer that would be unwise to refuse (Khaat,Open)

She curled into him, " Thank you. I am so glad you were here. You saved me more than once in this thing. You have no idea how much that means. I don't know how you knew, but I'm glad you did."

Robert walked over to Khaat and said softly, "Well played, my dear. Well played. Now, I suggest you let me clean up the mess, what little there is, while you go get Abbey a bit unstressed. She's not a happy camper at the moment."

"Well, neither was anybody else until just now," Khaat sighed. "She's coming into a rough world. She might as well get used to it now. It's not liable to get any easier. I need to put the shields back up that he tore down all around this place."

"I'll do it," Robert said. "You go. Get out of here for awhile. Thank you, everyone. Well done, all."
He looked at Jen. He had admired her tenacity and her skills and especially her courage. There really was something in her that he liked. "Thank you for coming as quickly as you did," he told her. "You impressed me, and I don't usually impress much. Nice job."

Peter sat and listened to what everyone was say, but watched Ne'os the most. He would leave if Ne'Os did, or continue fighting if he did. Once Godric came down and left Peter could tell that the fight was over. So when Ne'Os left, peter fled making sure noone followed him.

Khaat was glad to watch the last of Neo's thugs leave. It felt like a long day to her. She wasn't going to tear herself out of Rob's embrace any time in the next century--not if she could help it. It was the only place she wanted to be now. "Jess, thanks for coming so quickly," She said, truly grateful for the assistance from everyone. You too, Jen. Thank you. And Daddy, well, I just knew you'd be here. But thank you anyway. You know Jack isn't coming back. I want you to take Jack's job. I have to have someone in that post I can count on. Someone with superior skills that can not only run the hospital if I can't, but someone who can guide the healers in whatever matters they might run into. I can't think of anyone else I'd want in that post."

He carressed her cheek softly. Jack had been a good man, up until Ne'Os had perverted him. Her hiring of him, at the time, had not been wrong. He had not envisioned himself in being here at St. Mungo's that long this time, but Khaat had plans for him. And where his 'little girl' was concerned, he would do anything to help her. Well, pretty much anything, anyway. "Of course, my darling. You know I will," he sighed softly. "And you're right. You have to be extremely careful with who you put in that position. " He watched her accio an envelope from her desk. She handed it to him. "Keys to Jack's--no. Your office. And, the enchantment to the records room. No one else has them now except you and me. If we're not here, staff either has to send for us or just wait til we return and do without until then." Robert nodded, understanding. It would only take him a moment to put the enchantment to memory and then he could destroy the paper with the enchantment written on it. He fully intended to reinforce what Khaat had done to make the records room completely impregnable by anyone but him and Khaat. If it were breeched by any intruder and anyone unwelcome did actually manage to get inside by some unfortunate set of circumstances, the room would simply disapparate with them in it. His new design was just Khaat's design on steroids. If Ne'Os did come back, Robert intended to allow him ot breech the records room and then the room would simply make off with itself, with him trapped inside for all of eternity. And not having all those records would reduce the risk to St. Mungos immensely. Certainly it was a possible compromise in health care, but today had put a lot in perspective for him. He agreed with her that sort of risk could not happen again.

Rob laughed uneasily and looked around. Everyone just needed to relax. He knew Jen would be bouncing on the balls of her feet for the rest of the evening and nothing short of dinner and wine would get her relaxed. He knew he could whip up some dinner at Sparks so he thought it best to offer. They could ward the record room and Jen could stick some of her homemade protection charms up there. They’d be alright if everyone went for dinner and Rob was starved, he didn’t know about anyone else. Rob cleared his throat and looked from Robert, to Jess, to Khaat, to Jen and back again. “How about we all go to Sparks and get some dinner. Lizzie and I can throw something together?” Rob suggested.

Robert smiled. "Splendid idea. If you can get her to eat, you're a better man that I," Robert said. "She has no appetite at all. Abbey is getting to be one unhappy young lady, and she's taking it out on her mom. I have noticed, however, that when she slips over to Sparks, its the only time she eats." Khaat glared hard at her father for letting another secret slip out of her bag. She didn't plan on thinning. She was, however, hoping that Rob would never notice. She was hoping that it would just escape him altogether. She was really angry at her father for spilling the proverbial beans on her.

"I think I'll apparate out and get us a bottle of wine to go with dinner. I know Sparks doesn't sell it, but I surely can bring itJen, how would you like to go with me to choose a bottle or two?" Robert simply vanished with Jen, leaving Khaat standing w/ Rob and feeling quite awkward now indeed. She drew in a deep breath to try to cool her temper at him. Getting angry with a man like Robert Lupin would accomplish nothing. She exhaled slowly, counting silently to herself. "Sorry about that. He doesn't know when to just shut up sometimes," She said very quietly, seething.

“I’m not completely blind, you know.” Rob pointed out. “You need to start taking care of yourself, Khaat.” He was sick of Robert telling him things he already knew. He could see Khaat was thinner. Hell, he could feel how thin she was. Rob kissed Khaat softly and ran his fingers through her hair with a smile on his face. “I’ll tell you what. How about I show you how much I love you if you can eat two plates of Spaghetti Carbonara. Deal?” Rob teased, moving his lips to her neck. “This might be getting old but I’m not going to disappear again. Next time just come and drag me back.”

"Two? I have never eaten two plates of pasta in my life," she laughed. " How about, for the same reward, can we work for one clean plate instead? And did you, by chance, get Abbeys' note about the pistachio ice cream? Can we compromise for one order or carbonara--and some ice cream instead? Abbey's a pest." She paused and said, laughing, "I do underestimate your powers of observation sometimes. I really did hope I could float that one right on by you without you noticing. But so you know, Abbey's fine. I promise. I suppose I've just been working too many hours. Daddy will catch you up, I'm sure. He seems to be keeping a list--'Things to Rat Out to Rob.' I might as well quit being krked with him because I brought it all on myself, you know. If he didn't really like you, he wouildn't be telling you a syllable. You do know that, right?"

“Pistachio ice cream?” Rob made a face and wrapped his arms around Khaat. “That’s my daughter you’re talking about there and she might be a pest but it’s you she gets that from so really it is your own fault.” Rob grinned cheekily and listened to her. “I suggest you take some time off and relax. I’ve got some stuff to show you when and if you come home. Plus, the furniture is getting pretty sad that you’re not there now. I do know that unfortunately the prick likes me but I don’t mind too much.” Rob laughed and looked over at Jess. “We’re going to head to Sparks, you coming mate?” Rob shrugged and Apparated them, deciding that Jess could catch up if he wanted to.
