Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Welcoming Feast! Empty Welcoming Feast!

Post by Darren Mon Sep 20, 2010 8:49 am

[This feast is both for welcoming the Durmstrang and Beauxbatons students and to show the Goblet of Fire to the students. Durmstrang students will sit at the Slytherin table, whereas Beauxbatons students will be with the Ravenclaws. Also, please refrain from roleplaying unrealistically. For example: you can speak only to people on the table you are on or the one next to you. So if your at the Slytherin table, you can speak only to Slytherins and Ravenclaws. This is just to keep it realistic. The order of tables is: Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and then Gryffindor. All the headmasters and teachers will be at the staff table. Follow your headmasters instructions as well. Any unrealistic posts will be deleted this time Smile ]

Headmaster Zukauskas entered the hall soon after the Hogwarts headmaster himself. He gave one look around the hall and appreciated how amazingly constructed it was. Four long tables and the staff table in the front, floating candles and most spectacularly, the ceiling shows exactly how the sky was outside. After giving one look, he continued on his way towards the staff table, looking disinterested, as if Durmstrang was just as good. His students though, were generally making fools of themselves and looking around as if they had never seen anything quite like it. Which they probably hadn't. Headmaster Zukauskas had also noticed the house emblems floating above the four tables and quickly realized why they were there. "Durmstrang students, sit down at this table," Antanas ordered, pointing at the Slytherin one. He knew Slytherin was a proud house favorable to the old wizarding families, much like Durmstrang itself. Turning, Antanas moved towards the staff table and took the seat next to Doyle.

Prison sighed as he didnt care what table he sat at.. There werent much people there yet so he had no one to talk to. He took off his jacket because it was getting warm in there and he layed it on the bench at the table his head master pointed to and sat on his jacket. The shirt he wore under the jacket was a dark grey shirt. It was brand new cause it was given to him for the school year.

Dimitri entered the great hall. So this was Hogwarts.. It was much nicer than Durmstrang. A vision of the drafty, majestic halls came to him. All of the students looked like a mass of bubbling black - but then again it was better than his own blood red robes. Dimitri had always known he wouldn't have minded coming to Hogwarts, but the Russian countryside was his home, no matter how barren.

The rest of the Durmstrang students were seating themselves at one table. Dimitri had never been one to follow the norm but he figured the judges were around here somewhere and it would be important to make a good impression. Sitting down at the table (in an area unoccupied with students) he looked around for some of his friends or one of the Hogwarts students to talk to. He would rather talk to a Hogwarts student. It would be much more interesting.

Sam followed shortly behind several of the Durstrang students, another clump of Hogwarts students with him, so he wasn't just squshing in with them, he stopped and waited as the door was blocked with the Durmstrang students figuring out where to go. Once they move he walked over to this table, chuckling and shaking his head while he did it, it'd be pretty awful, he thought, to be in a foreign country, with foreign students, and all that fun stuff.

Walking to his own table he looked at it in dismay as he realised the food hadn't been served yet, he may as well have come in later, but oh well, at least he got a decent table now... still, how annoying.

As he took his place in front of the owl platform, he raised his cane and conjured a set of trumpets that sounded medieval fanfare music. ''Hear ye! Hear ye! I want ye all to shut ye pie holes and listen! Now, as you all know, I am the Headmaster of this School and the official host of this years Triwizard Tournament, held, as always it seems, in Hogwarts. Along with you, on your tables, you have students from the French school of Beauxbatons and our Eastern European... never memorized if it was Bulgaria or Lithuania... all the same to me... from Durmstrang. Now, you all know what it is, if not ask any of the staff members, they will be able to tell you... I am not going to trouble myself with that. The rules are the same as every time so you should all probably know them by now... if not... again, the staff. Now, to introduce the staff... the idiots who think they are running the school are called Death Eaters and they won't be causing much trouble to our guests... I can vouch for that. As for the others... you should get acquainted with professor James William Wilson, Gryffindor Head of House and our DADA expert, professor William Winston McCoy, our Transfiguration master and Ravenclaw Head of House and Potions Master, Edgar Albert Doyle... no wait, that's me, right? I do not know how the rest is called, sorry. Now, I am done for tonight and I would like to enable my comrades from our enemy schools to have a word'', he said, going back to his seat.

Post by Headmistress Anais Benoit Mon Sep 20, 2010 11:35 pm

OOC: BAH! Y'all started the feast w/o me. Oh well, i'm writing this as if Anais was here from the outset.

Anais had asked her students to sit together, finding out that this was still apparently what Headmaster Doyle wanted, at least for this meeting. Tradition did not typically seem to dictate that students arrange by school much after this first night of greetings and announcements.

She had taken the time to refresh herself and to change to a very elegant plum colored silk suit and had taken her position at the staff table. She listened to Doyle's words, and she stifled an urge to laugh. She found his candor refreshing. She knew that others certainly were likely to find him abrasive. She, however, liked the switch from the stuffiness of tradition.

Words? Hm. She had not thought she would be required to speak tonight. Well, she normally presented herself well under pressure. It would be interesting to see of the Durmstrang Headmaster fared as well, or if Doyle's mannerisms would take him a bit back as well.

It was all so confusing, there were tons of people coming in the halls and going to tables. Emil didn't know where to sit or what to do. He spun around a couple times, practically, to catch a glimpse of a fellow Durmstrang student or some indication where he was supposed to be. No food had been served, and he could feel the hunger pangs coming on like a constant-nagging wasp that stung and buzzed its way to a person's sanity. The only thing that kept him from going crazy was the knowledge of what the headmaster would do if he fell out of line.

He spotted other Durmstrang students at the Slytherin table. The supposed "evil house" of Hogwarts. He didn't want to be considered 'evil', but he'd rather that than the wrath of the headmaster. He sat down in a nigh-unoccupied area of the table, and waited. He, like he imagined everyone else from his school, were antsy to meet students from Hogwarts. Though he'd meet only those from the supposed "evil" house for now, he thought of how sweet it would be to meet and greet with other Hogwarts students. Well, as long as that Brienne girl wasn't one of them. If he were anywhere near her, he'd shoo her away.

He sat down at the place he picked, noticed the table bare save for the anticipating hands and arms of students leaning upon it. Yes, that table was a bit bare. He knew that food would be coming real soon, but couldn't wait for it. He kept his mouth shut though, in fear that he'd be considered rude to inquire. Besides, patience was a virtue, and he knew that. Yes, whomever wait patiently would be rewarded when the time is right. His family's maxim, which was repeated through the ages. How true it is, Emil thought, fortune is taking its sweet old time!

Welcoming Feast! Empty Re: Welcoming Feast!

Post by Zhanna Charkov Mon Sep 20, 2010 11:46 pm

Zhanna had followed carefully and quietly behind her headmaster, an intense look on her face, her chin held high and her shoulders squared. As the Durmstrang students passed, people from the other schools craned their necks to get a better view. She knew most of them were looking for prospective dates and possible flings. She knew the benefits of these and allowed for a small, knowing smile every time she saw some boy worthy of her attention, pleased to see their eyes widen and their hopes rise.

She turned back and faced forward before turning to seat herself where the Durmstrang students were expected to sit, taking professional steps towards the Slytherin table. She had done some research on Hogwarts but not as much as she probably should have. She knew enough to know it was one of the houses and named after a founder, but past that, she did not know what to think.

She slipped into a seat next to one of her fellow students, Dimitri. Dimitri was popular enough to wield her attention, though not quite on the tier she was considered. Popularity was something Zhanna had rejected, and yet had somehow become more befitting of her. She gave him a light smile, which may have seemed flirtatious to those who did not know her, but was simply a smile to those who did. She turned to watch their overly rude headmaster and cocked her head ever so slightly to listen.
