Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Welcoming Feast Empty Welcoming Feast

Post by Kingsley Shacklebolt Mon Aug 20, 2012 9:49 pm

Kingsley Shacklebolt had never imagined he would be here again. It was his second day at Hogwarts, but the first time he had went inside the Headmaster's Office since he had returned. The last time he had been here was when he had dueled Vincent Majere all those years ago. In a way, Kingsley reflected, he hadn't truly lost the duel. For here he was, headmaster again, and Majere no where to be found.

Kingsley looked out the window and watched as the first years crossed the Great Lake in their boats. How long ago had it been since he had done that? Fifty odd years? He sighed. Kingsley had done many things in those years; he had led the order, been the minister for a decade, but never did he think he would have been Headmaster. Now he was here for his second tenure. In a way, it was the hardest job he had ever done. As the minister, you were dealing with the present, but as Headmaster you were shaping the future.

Kingsley went and picked up the sorting hat. The students had crossed the lake by now, he thought, and then hurried to the Great Hall. Once there, Shacklebolt took his seat at the middle of the Staff Table and waited for the students.

Welcoming Feast Empty Re: Welcoming Feast

Post by Jasmin Hayman Tue Aug 21, 2012 8:46 am

Looking around, Jasmin entered the Great Hall with the other Slytherins. She saw Shacklebolt sit down at that moment, and remembered what her dad had told her about him. Her said he was a great wizard, a very great wizard. Jasmin just hoped they wouldn't meet on bad terms.

Sitting down, Jasmin glanced towards the front of the Hall, at the first years. There went as many this year, but a few stood out, a really tall boy, and girl with blue hair and a kid she couldn't deiced was a girl or boy. Jasmin hoped that Slytherin would gain the best out of the bunch this year.

As the room was settling itself down, Jasmin looked towards the Griffendor table and saw Albus. Damn why did she always realize him!

At that moment Shacklebolt began speaking.

[((OOC: I've decided to make this Welcoming Feast short. Only one more post after this. I did want to post this Sorting Hat song though))]

Shacklebolt watched as the students slowly filed in and took their seats at their respective house tables. The first years lined up at the back of the hall. Once all the other students were seated, Shacklebolt stood.

"Welcome students, to another year at Hogwarts! I'm sure you are all very tired and hungry after your long journey. The feast will begin shortly, but first, the sorting must be done!"

Shacklebolt then conjured a seat in front of the staff table and put the Sorting hat there. As soon as he took his seat again, the Sorting Hat burst into a song:

"Another year is coming
and the children stand in line
They are waiting for me to sort them
for that is the purpose of mine

Here at Hogwarts we have four houses
and I will sort you in one
and when you are snug in your new home
we'll get some magic done

The lions of Gryffindor tower
are the bravest and most noble around
Scarlet and gold are their colours
In their eyes there is courage to be found

The badgers are loyal of nature
The Hufflepuff house is true
They make the best kind of friendships
and yellow and black are their hues

In Ravenclaw wit conquers muscle
In blue and in black lie their hearts
They are Rowena's children
she taught them the spell-casting arts

Last stands the Slytherin household
where those cunning and cold find their kind
They hide behind veils of silver
and know to put heart after mind

You see we are varied in merits
and somewhere in these houses you belong
But it's important that we stand united
for only together will we be strong"

Once the song was done, the hat sank back to it's inanimate position, waiting for the first years to step forward.

((OOC- Ok, just wonderung if my RPing is ok??))

Jasmin softly sang along to the sorting hat song, she loved the "But it's important that we stand united for only together will we be strong" because even thought there were fights between houses, we were one school and would stand together at any time.
Jasmin smiled as the last off the first years was placed in Slytherin. This year there were about 15 placed in Slytherin, an amazing feat because there weren't many to begin with.
With that the fest began.

So much food appeared in front of Jasmin, but she soon spotted her favorite, tuna salad. She severed herself a dish and started to munch away while the school was talking about their holidays.

Liesl let the other prefects lead the Slytherins to their seats. She was already sick of her new responsibilities, and she'd only had them for one day!

Anyway, the feast was always a fine diversion, lots of new Slythies would find their way into the ranks of green and silver, and then there would be the unofficial house-warming. The unofficial house-warming was way more fun than the official one, Liesl thought. She even had some plans for it, this year.

"How were your holidays?" she asked nobody in particular.

Post by Mariana Diggory Wed Aug 29, 2012 11:37 pm

Mariana just sat at the end of the table as usual not speaking too much and eating a little bit. The advanced desease made her appetite low and she wasn't trying to force anything down her throat, it would probably end up badly. There were many new faces today, many students missing and the reason was obvious. She was wondering how would this term be, probably not much different then the last one where she had to work her ass off.

Her every thought was on Jess. He should be back soon, but not knowing the exact date made her a little nervous. Lack of information was her constant companion.
