Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

I don't dislike this idea. I think it would take some doing to get it started, and we would have to have certain graduates to keep order among the children/teens, but then again, that solves another problem of having nothing for the graduates to do. Good idea.

That being said, I have one question about it: If students in this home are "strongly advised to attend Hogwarts", won't that keep them from being drop outs? If so, does that eliminate drop outs from the site?

I don't think so. I think there are some players who just don't want anything to do with school, and i don't think they will go, no matter how strongly we encourage them. lol. i am hoping that what it does do, though, is to have adult or more experienced characters encouraging younger ones about the value of attending hogwarts and thereby decreasing the dropouts on site b/c they would actually be participating more. that was my other hope with that, along with providing them with the basics that their characters need to survive. i am not suggesting that it be a life in the lap of luxury, otherwise we do nothing more than to increase the problem. but i am not against making sure they have some basics.

Eh, i personally think there shouldn't be the drop out option. If you want to not go to hogwarts, you're a grad, simple as that. You want to be a child, you're in hogwarts. However, it's a fact of life i suppose, though i always thought it was compulsory to receive some form of education, whether home schooled or not.

Ah well, yeah, we should do that, but isn't it pretty much the same as personal houses?
