Jack shook her head. "Nah, I don't have one. I'm hoping to get one before next year." She paused. "Or a ferret." Ever since she was a kid, she had always wanted a ferret. He told him his owl's name and she laughed; it shared a name with her uncle. "Same as my uncle. Small world."

Andrew chuckled and then said "A ferret? Really?" He then also raised an eyebrow when she said their owls were the same. "No way!" he said calmly "Yeah I got my owl from my brother."

Jack nodded. "That's cool. My brother doesn't get too involved with the magical world." It was true. She thought that it might still weird him out, him being so normal and all, and the only thing that kept him from flat-out disapproving was his brotherly love for her. They often got over things for the sake of each other. She sighed and suddenly felt a sting on her finger. The owl had bit her. She pulled her finger to her hand and saw it start to bleed. She looked back at the owl and berated "Well, that wasn't very nice at all." She sucked on her finger and then wiped it on her robes. She explained "He bit me."

Andrew smiled and then chuckled "I think you petted him too close to the eye," he said then pointed to the owl taking flight away now. He laughed a bit and then said "Well there goes another one." He looked back at jack and said "Are you alright?"

Jack nodded, inspecting her finger and deeming it okay. "Of course. Takes more than a spirited owl to get me down." She laughed.

Andrew grinned and then laughed. He had never been bitten by an owl before, and had not intended to find out. He then looked back at the perch where the other owl had been, and an Eagle owll appered with a letter on its leg. "Is that for you or me?" he asked

She glanced over at the newly arrived owl and then pointed at Andrew. "Probably you, no one I'm writing to is close or that fast of a writer."

Andrew nodded and then reached over for the owl. It seemed to have backed up plafully. "Chip," he said grinning a bit, and the owl the flew over to Andrews hand. He grabbed the letter that was attached to the string and pulled himself back in. He held the letter in his hand and then read it. Just a note from his parents. He skimmed through it and it only read 'I love yous' and 'Take care of yourself's. He expected that. "Well it's nothing" he smiled

Jack watched Andrew and his owl. Maybe she would get an owl...they were more useful than ferrets...But then again, it was a ferret. He finished reading and she said "Family?"

"Yeah," he said calmly and then put the letter in his back pocket "just more 'Love yous' and stuff from my parents. Although they are getting annoyed by the owl mail. They'd rather use email, so that way they didn't have to find a rat to give to the owl each time they got a letter."
