Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. A Bright Day on the Dark Side Empty A Bright Day on the Dark Side

Post by Suzannah Malfoy Sun Apr 11, 2010 5:07 pm

Suzannah walked alone around a darkened Knockturn Alley, clutching the front of her black cloak. Her silvery blonde hair blew around in the wind beneath her hood and waved in front of her face. She never usually went to Knockturn Alley, but she had nothing else to do today, and she felt exceptionally angry today. Suz just recently got into a big argument with her younger sister, and soon left her manor so that she wouldn't turn Sacha into a tea cozy. She was still fairly upset and wanted to punch whomever came across her path. Adding on to her anger, she tripped over an obvious rock that was in the middle of the walkway and landed flat on her face. Without getting up, she began to curse out the rock and picked it up, chucking it at a wall with much force. Suzannah still lay on the ground, too angry to get back to her feet.

A Bright Day on the Dark Side Empty Re: A Bright Day on the Dark Side

Post by Alester Thoth Crowley Sun Apr 11, 2010 5:25 pm

Alester wandered the darkest depths of the seedier side of Diagon Alley's counterpart. He was oft found to frequent these darker streets, and although he really didn't appreciate the dingier environment which was relevent to the area; however he found like minded people often turned up here. Today he was absentmindedly wandering looking for something to break the drudgery of the morning... the Gods must be smiling today, for just as he was grumbling in foulest mood a girl with flowing blonde hair stumbled over an apparent nothing and fell prostate onto the grimey street.

A bright flash of silver lit the darkness of his eyes brightening them like a burst of sunshine on a cloudy day. He uttered a dark chuckle softly and held out a hand in aide... it was an unaccustomed gesture for him, but he felt charitable as she had succeeded in providing him humor. May I offer my assistance? He gave a halfhearted grin as he recognized her from his new classes at Hogwarts, a Slytherin like him, one point in her favor.

A Bright Day on the Dark Side Empty Re: A Bright Day on the Dark Side

Suzannah was beginning to enjoy laying on the ground, as the air was hot that day and the cobblestone was very cool against her cheek. She could have almost fell asleep, drifting into thoughts about her brother and sister, her parents, her friends, and everything else that she loved in her life, but she knew that she couldn't, as that would make her look like a fool. Who would fall asleep on the ground? Absolutely no one, especially in Knockturn Alley. The ground was all grimy and dirty, and God knows what people would do there. Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard a silent laughter coming from behind her.

Suzannah sat up as she heard a dark, familiar voice talking to her. She looked up at his face, noticing him from her classes. She gave him a nasty look when she noticed that he had been laughing at her and she pushed his hand away, refusing his help. "NO Thank you" She spat at him, getting back to her feet. She brushed herself off, getting the dirt off of her cloak and jeans. "And may I ask why you are laughing? I could have been seriously hurt and you would have just stood there humored by it." Suzannah wouldn't admit it, but that is exactly what she would have done. She is unbelievably cruel, mean, and evil and she loved anyone who would do what Alester just displayed. Suzannah turned her back to walk away from Alester, without another word.

A Bright Day on the Dark Side Empty Re: A Bright Day on the Dark Side

Alester's laughter refused to remain hidden when she was apparently angered by his actions. It wasn't his fault she presented a completely laughable picture, he still had seen nothing to account for why she was sprawled on the ground, and her haughty attitude was only the more to his amusement. His dark chuckles rang out in the dank alleyway and reverberated off the glassfronts of decrepit storefronts. He watched her retreat with laughter in his eyes, where it usually showed as flashes of silver shimmering in the silvery turquoise depths of his eyes.

He chose to follow her, unsure if to see what other amusement she might offer, or if he might apologize, although probably not for he had only been being himself. His lightweight robes billowed on the currents he created as he moved between and around people who seemed to appear out of nowhere. She was easy to keep in sight to his trained eyes, where he was dressed to belnd into the shadows. He had a lightweight form fitted t-shirt, slimfit skinny jeans, and black on black cons under his nonmarked black robes. He fought the tradition of Hogwarts by wearing pure black robes instead of the ones marked with the Hogwarts crest most of the time anyhow, today was no exception--especially as his side jaunt had nothing to do with classes or school at all. He was searching for items he required, only to be found here in the darkest depths of Knockturn Alley and similar establishments.

He looked at her form, wondering what her quest was today...

A Bright Day on the Dark Side Empty Re: A Bright Day on the Dark Side

Post by Suzannah Malfoy Sun Apr 11, 2010 7:10 pm

Suzannah continued to walk forward, sliding past oncoming people; she was walking pretty fast, trying to cool down. She didn't know why she was in such a sour mood, it just came over her. She never usually felt like this, it was very rare for her to get so upset with someone so easily, especially for someone who was only trying to be kind to her. Suzannah decided that she needed a serious reality check, but she knew that wouldn't happen. She woke up from her daze feeling slightly better and not as angry, but still in a bad mood. She heard footsteps behind her, and she stopped suddenly, spinning around.

She turned around to see Alester following her, which was surprising because she was walking for probably a half hour now. "Why are you following me?" She asked in a cooler tone, looking up at him. When she looked at his silvery eyes, she got, in a way, nervous. He had this look in his eye that would make anyone scared. She looked away to try to hide it and folded her arms across her chest. She could feel his warm breath against her skin even though the were a few feet away from one another. "Haven't I embarrassed myself enough?" She asked.

The thin teenager stopped short as his quarrey made a sudden pause. He flicked his black hair, carefully styled to appear that he didn't care what it looked like, out of his eyes and gazed at her, he knew he had been caught following her, but he really didn't care...he had nothing better to do and his curiosity had caught the better of him. I won't apologize for laughing, it was dread funny; besides I am certain you could embarrass yourself quite well in many a myriad of other ways. Although it is regretful you feel embarrassed, your pride should dictate you pick yourself up and move on...assuming I assess you correctly as being prideful and self aware in your own competence, as well as strong. He left the statement to dangle, he was not prone to associate with anyone who didn't hold power, it simply went against everything he held important, even self awareness and strength could be powerful, when used the right way.

Suzannah blushed as he said her fall was funny, though she could quite easily agree with him. "Well I wasn't expecting an apology, and I am a very clumsy person. I think that if you followed me for a little while longer, then I probably would have tripped again." She laughed a bit at herself. "Is it that obvious?" She asked, referring to her clumsiness that he pointed out at ease. "But really, why were you following me? I'm not that interesting that one would follow me for a half hour walking to nowhere." She added with a shrug. She found him to be more interesting than she first judged him upon.

He laughed again, not the dark chuckle but almost a natural laugh, rare for him in his usual somberness. Not so very noticable actually, but it is better that you can laugh at yourself, it removes power from those who would truely laigh at you for your clumsiness. I was merely laughing at the incident, not at you in particluar. He flashed that real smile again, he meant this as close to an apology as he would give; a concession.

As to why I am following you, it seemed the best course of action at the time. You are strong, yet you allowed me power over you for that moment. I have an addiction to power... but really I just chose to. I often follow my impulses, it is a witche's best power knowing when to follow your instincts. He was giving her some of his deepest beliefs... and his smile was slightly forced before he pressed his lips together pondering why he would give such a piece of his own thoughts to someone he didn't know. Was she bewitching him? No he did not feel any violation, perhaps she was fated to be an ally then... one of his circle of acquaintances... May I ask where you are going? he inquired turning the questioning to her and off him.

Suzannah smiled widely at his laugh, it wasn't dark but it was real, and she liked the ring to it. "I know you weren't laughing at me. But, to be honest, I probably would have laughed if I was in your position" She smirked at him. He was being honest, something she wasn't exactly used to in people that she talked to. And she could tell in his eyes that he was being true, which made her feel like she could act the same way to him.

"What do you mean by you 'have an addiction to power?'" Suzannah asked curiously. She wanted to know him better, and understand his beliefs. She thought that Alester felt intimidated, and that he had to answer her questions, or he had to pretend to like her. She rethought that and accepted that she wasn't as intimidating as she had always thought she was, and she had to give herself more credit than what she was giving herself now. "I'm not exactly sure where I'm going at the moment. I kind of just took off from my house because I got into a big argument with my sister." She admitted. "Would you like to walk with me?" She asked gingerly.

A Bright Day on the Dark Side Empty Re: A Bright Day on the Dark Side

Post by Alester Thoth Crowley Sun Apr 11, 2010 9:11 pm

His eyes shone darkly this time, not the flash of silver of his laughter; but a reflection of the darkness he carried within. Oh I mean a true addiction, I live for, breathe, and feel it flow within my veins; power. It is my deepest heart's desire and the one thing I lust after. All my dreams consist of growing powerful, of finding and exceeding my highest limits until there are no more limits just pure power. Truest obsession and addiction, the flow of power through you, coming from deep within... he paused, had he said too much, revealed his darkness to fully? He looked at her with those deep eyes colored by his own desire for power.

I'm sorry, I get carried away, it really is an addiction! he laughed again, the more normal laugh yet tinged with darkness. Let's walk then, and see where the path leads; perhaps there will be an adventure to liven the day? A test, or contest or simply something new to encounter. He was diliberately trying to lighten things now and push down the depths of himself which threatened to reveal themselves today. Perhaps they would meet up with something new and exciting... he had already met up with her unexpectedly...
