Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Class Seven - Basic Level Empty Class Seven - Basic Level

Post by William Winston McCoy Sun Apr 11, 2010 2:52 pm

Another day, another class. Professor McCoy had replaced professor Emof, who had work in the Ministry, not a long time ago. He liked teaching, especially Transfiguration. He had done some teaching jobs before, but Transfiguration was always his favorite. He wrote his name on the blackboard and sat on his desk, waiting for the students to arrive. He also waved his hand and wrote the title of today's lesson - Animate to inanimate transfiguration - Object transfiguration - Untransfiguration.

James entered Prof. McCoy's classroom, face still forced into a slight smile. "Good morning Professor," he said, as he set down his books on a desk not too far from the front of the class. James still had no love for Transfiguration, but he he wasn't about to let that show. James took out parchment, a quill and his wand. He cast a spell on the quill, as he pulled out on of his book, and began leafing through it, as if deciding which portion to read for the day.

Elyssa ran through the door and wished with all her heart that she was not late this time. In almost every transfiguration class she was late and she couldn't help but today she woke up early to be sure she wasn't. She didn't hear any footsteps as she came near the door. Oh damn.. Don't tell me I'm late again. she thought. As she bolted the door face on the floor she entered and said, Sorry, Professor McCoy, I'm late ag..she looked up at the end of her sentence and saw only two people in the room. She, obviously, wasn't late. Elyssa turned red at what she said and hurried to took her seat face on the floor again. She looked up again and felt that she must say something to the professor, "Good morning, Professor McCoy.". Elyssa took out her book, parchment and quill. She turned her book to the topic and began reading.

Class Seven - Basic Level Empty Re: Class Seven - Basic Level

First years liked anything fluffy and wide eyed it seemed. Eli noted this as he walked down the corridor with a fluffy grey tabby kitten in his arms. At least the first years had the same obsession his daughter had – it was something they could bond over. Anything fluffy, cute and potentially adorable Fauve had to have and Eli was stupid enough to get it for her. She did seem to like his transfiguration though. He was horrible at the subject and was only able to turn things into cats. It had been that way since his first year at Durmstrang. His mother hadn’t been impressed but she soon warmed to the thought of being sent a cat every Christmas. He could get the part transfiguration, the base line of what was needed but his parrot would purr or his goblet would have ears. His magic seriously liked felines which probably explained why his Animagus was a white Bengal tiger.

Eli sighed and opened the door of the Transfiguration classroom. The kitten seemed to like the classroom as his head poked out of the crook of Eli’s elbow, eager to see what this new room held. Eli scratched between the kitten’s ears and it began to purr again. He rolled his eyes at the animal and walked up to the front desk. He sighed and propped the kitten up. “Happy belated birthday, Christmas, New Year, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day and Easter, Professor.” The kitten meowed and he cursed his lack of ability to transfigure things into something sensible. Fauve was going down. She couldn’t have named a male cat anything normal could she? Of course not.

“Professor, meet Cookie. I did not name the animal...that was my daughter. My, uh, landlord made a new cookie recipe and Fauve, my daughter, ended up letting him eat her cookies so that was what she named him.” He was making a fool of himself. He’d get Fauve later. He’d definitely get her back for setting him up like this. “He’s a good cat. I mean, he has an unhealthy obsession with his namesake and chocolate but I was thinking that maybe you’d like to have him? I mean, I’d rather see him with someone else because Nachash keeps threatening to eat him.” He shrugged the sleeve of his robes back and the snake beneath his skin hissed at the amount of light in the room. He laughed uneasily and shrugged the sleeve back down. “Do you want him? Either way you’re going to get him but it’s good to ask.” He smirked.

The spiral staircase was a distance from the dungeon to the bridge of the castle. Hafiz knew he was late but he still need to go to the restroom and it will take quite of his time for the class. After finishing his business in the restroom and splash a bit of water on his face and neck, he rush with a thousand steps to his next class. As he arrived to the class, it had already started. He go straight to the professor and apolagies to him. Sry I am late professor as he gave him a warm smile and took his seat on his favourite spot.

Miseria entered the classroom. She felt like old herself again. With no absence and not being late, it was perfect to her. “Good morning, professor,“ she said quietcly and sat in the middle row, taking her books, quill and parchement out. Then she looked up at the blackboard, and quickly thought about all the spells what would make things animate and inanimate. Transfiguration and untransfiguration.

''And happy Hanuka, Mr. Krum'', McCoy said, raising hands theatrically. He then took his wand out and pointed it at the kitten. He transfigured the kitten into a wine glass, an extremely fragile wine glass. He then levitated it to his desk. ''One more mistake, one more wrong move, and the kitten or glass, whatever you like, goes into pieces, irreparable pieces.'', McCoy said. ''Now, good morning to the rest of you. Miss Manson, miss Dawn seems to be absent. You wouldn't know anything about it, would you?'', he asked. ''Now, during today's class, we will revise something that we have already discusses, but in more detail. To revise, one student... animate to inanimate, another student... object transfiguration, in all ways possible, and the last of the bold... untransfiguration.'', he asked.

Crap Eli thought. Not only was the kitten now a glass but he doubted that the animal had gotten used to the fact that it was a cat. Going from human to cat to wine glass was a big change. He did feel sorry for him but not as sorry as he should have. Fauve got another cute furry thing and now the poor Death Eater would be used as a wine glass. What a fate. Eli sighed and sat down, wondering why it mattered that he’d missed the Jewish version of Christmas. He knew Rob and Jen were Jews but he couldn’t say the same for Khaat. He wasn’t sure about her. He hadn’t seen any indication of it. Jen religiously wore her Star of David necklace and Rob had a tattoo on his hand but Khaat didn’t show any religious indication. He sighed and sat down at his desk. He took his sketch book out of his bag and a pencil before lightly beginning to sketch the desk. It was definitely something to show Fauve. He could already tell that Nachash was having a complete and utter meltdown. Hopefully she wouldn’t try and steal the glass but he could never be sure. She was quite unpredictable.

Miseria had to look up when she heard professor talking again, and she raised her eyebrows when she saw that the professor transformed kitten into a wine glass. Something in her felt like a stone. She loved animals more than something else and she was against of the abuse as well. That is why she didn't eat meat, too. She felt better when she was a vegetarian.
Then she looked at Elijah, who seemed to be confused about the incident. And as she heard from Khaat, the boy lived in the same house as Khaat did, so it meant that she'll see him around if she'll go back to the Hogsmeade again. But soon, she had to turn her white face back at the professor. She didn't know how to look at him. Rather disapointed or make a face like she didn't give a damn about the threat if Elijah will do a wrong move or the kitten-wine-glass will break into a million and irreparable pieces. She choose the second choise and shrugged. “No, I dodn't know. I didn't see her in the common room as well, but I am sure that she will show up,“ she said quietly, making voice sound firmal. When he asked a question, Miseria didn't reply right away. She didn't actually get the question correctly, so first, she desided that she'll think about it before trying to figure out an answer.
