Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Sterling looked around nervously, evidently nervous at the evident ease and comfort the other students had in the class. "When will the lesson begin, professor?" he asked tentatively.

Rachel looked at the boy who had spoke "it starts now silver" she said waving at the board as the words appeared " Goblins are a race of highly intelligent creatures who live side by side with wizards. Goblins are considered to be inferior by many wizards, who foolishly believe that the goblins are comfortable with that arrangement. In fact, goblins are extremely clever and more than able to stand up to wizards. The fact that the wizarding population treats them poorly is evidence of the severe injustice built into wizard culture. Ironically, the Fountain of Magical Brethren in the Atrium of the Ministry of Magic shows a goblin, along with a house-elf and a centaur, gazing admiringly at a witch and wizard." ok read and learn please

Sterling raised his hand excitedly to ask a question. "No other magical creatures are allowed to bear wands," he stated. "If a goblin or a house-elf were allowed to bear wands even though they are perfectly able to do magic without it, would their magic overshadow that of a wizard's?"

Rachel looked down "yes they would although they don't need it, its why the ministry of magic deemed it impossible for a goblin to own or wield a wand" she replied

"So if it's unnecessary, why do goblins take such offense that wizards don't share with them the secrets of wandlore?" he pressed. "And the Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare claim that house elves would be able to use wands and that it's wrong for wizards to punish them for wielding it. Do you agree?"

Rachel smiled as she sat on the edge of her desk "Throughout the history of the wizarding world there have been rebellions where the goblins have fought against the discrimination and prejudice. These goblin rebellions were most prevalent in the 1600s and 1700s, but even today there are subversive goblin groups who work in secret against the Ministry, according to the Daily Prophet . One rebellion, in 1612, took place in the vicinity of Hogsmeade; the Inn there was used as headquarters for the rebellion . The rebellions have been described as "bloody and vicious." The names of the rebels tend to run along the lines of "Bodrod the Bearded and Urg the Unclean," she said folding her arms across her chest

Sterling wrote everything the teacher said in his notes, half expecting the tip of his quill to ignite by which the speed of which he wrote. "Why is it that despite all these rebellions and obvious desire the magical creatures have to bear wands, does the Ministry not grant them that ability?" he said unapologetically without raising his hand, fully aware that he was now straying significantly away from the initial topic of the lesson. He momentarily forgot he was a subordinate student in a classroom and felt more like he was having a private discussion with the professor.
