Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. If there is one thing Kai hated the most that would be being left in dark. Like today. Usually he would ignore letters without any explanation but this time he needed to answer if he want to keep himself safe. When Freia came along with other owls through the window he thought he got a letter from his mom. Mayrise was always efficient in finding things her boys had forgot at home, so he expected a box with his forgotten things, she would send it during his first week in Hogwarts, like she did six times before but he couldn't remember if she has ever sent it that fast. As Freia landed in front of him carrying a letter he realized that the letter hasn't came from the 'lovely' house of Rosiers. They never send him a letters before, beside the box, especially not Evan, Kai wouldn't hear a word from him during all his term, he was saying that they're old enough to survive without any letters from their parents so they decided not to send even a single one. He and his brother hasn't received any letters from them since they started their schooling, why would they start sending them when they started their last year here, then?

He took the letter, carefully so he wouldn't harm his owl who ate his breakfast while he untied a letter. When he finished, Freia looked at him with her eyes the color of jade, took another bite of his cornflakes and soared through the window int he upcoming day. When he lost the sight of his owl he looked toward the Hufflepuff table finding his brother's inquiring glance. He gazed away aware that his brother would come later asking questions, like he usually does, but he'll first give him some time to read the letter. Kai sighed looking in his name on the envelope. Caiden Rosier. It's definitely for him, but the handwriting looked unknown. It was too sharp to be his mother's and too tiny to be his father's.

Caiden, I know what you did. Meet me at Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop at five. Order a coffee without any milk or sugar for me, and don't be late. E.

Elizabeth. He should assume that she sent the letter, she was the only one besides his family who insisted in calling him Caiden, but unlike them she did it just to provoke him.
And here he is. Sitting alone in the pink tea shop drinking cocoa while the rose petals were falling on and around him and ignoring couples around him in different stages of seducing. Too sweetish, he needed to admit, but he liked her sense for humor.

Nothing weighs on us so heavily as a secret Empty Re: Nothing weighs on us so heavily as a secret

Good morning stranger! Have some news for me?
Elizabeth was, as usual, sitting in the shop in the Knockturn Alley, writing some notes in her diary, when man in black hood came in. While she was talking he raised big brown envelope and laid it down on her desk. "Very well then, working with you is always pleasure." man nodded, waiting for his money. Elizabeth sighed as she took few galleons from her pocket and gave them to the man. "Here you go, greedy boy." She took the envelope waiting for the man to leave.
When he went out her calmly mood vanished. She was curious, more than ever, so she tore the paper and dumped the contents of the envelope on the table. She smirked to her new treasure, carefully watching letters and pictures. Besides that, there were something similar to family tree and one book - notebook, or better said diary. It was light pink so she assumed it belonged to some girl.
She took the paper with the family tree, and oh my! Tree presented Rosier family and in the bottom there was a name that attracted her attention. Caiden Rosier. The name was rounded with red line, and just next to the name there was one small exclamation mark.
It wasn't long before she put together all the pieces. Who would say that little Caiden is a murderer? Elizabeth smirked. She definitely wouldn't.

Before she knew what she was doing, she wrote the letter and send it to Caiden. The boy is in the school so she'll go to the Hogsmeade. She took her things, checking to see if she took all the papers, and went home to change.

She was more than happy when she came to Hogs. Caiden wasn't there yet so she sat at the bar across the street. She ordered the bottle of the vine even though she knew she won't drink it. When she saw Caiden she simply left the bottle on the table and went out.
It was sunny, without the wind which was unusual for this time of a year but it made her smile. She was finally back in the game, at least she hoped she is. It was almost six when she came into Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop, but annoy people was something she really enjoyed. She went straight to Caiden's table and sat down across from him.
"Hello hello my lovely friend. Long time no see. How's life Caiden, family, love, wife..?" she smiled polite knowing she is irritating him. She took her wand and used the spell to heat up her coffee before she took a sip.

Nothing weighs on us so heavily as a secret Empty Re: Nothing weighs on us so heavily as a secret

He sighed seeing Elizabeth entering the room. Today she seemed extraordinarily happy, and seeing her happy always meant she'll somehow try to use him, like she tried many times before. With no results. That even became some sort of tradition, she would call him, he would come and then she would try to use him while they were provoking each other. At first it was curiosity that bought him there, but as times passed he found this meetings entertaining. Kai was thrilled with all her attempts to blackmail him. He knew what she wants, she wants her reputation again, and they both knew he could help her if he wanted. Just because his surname. Being Rosier gave him some kind of reputation among Death eaters, not that Kai cared, and improving her reputation was everything that Elizabeth wanted at the moment. He wasn't sure why, why would anyone want to improve his name on the list of hierarchy for few rows up. It wasn't like Death eaters were as big and influential as they were while Voldemort led them. Today they were just another miserable group, as Order of the phoenix is, as well. If the Order still existed, they main intent was to stop Voldemort, and now when he's dead what would they do?

Kai took a sip of his cocoa while Elizabeth took her seat. Usually, if there was anybody else on Lizzie's place he would stood up and pulled out a chair for her as a perfect gentleman, but for Elizabeth he never wanted to do it. Why would he do it if she's here only to blackmail him, again? His mother would be disappointed with his lack of manners but he couldn't care less.
He choked when she mentioned his wife. He fought hard to kept that a secret, at least he never had intent to tell her he is married. Well, he was married. This Slytherin should assume she would dig that out somehow. The same way she always dig something about his personal life before they met. After all, you can't blackmail a person without any informations.
"Hello Lizzie. I'm good, and you?" His lips parted into a big but icy cold smile. He wondered how much she knows. His family kept his marriage in secret, how could they tell anyone when their lovely pure blooded son married muggle born witch. It was harder to keep that as a secret in Hogwarts, some students knew for sure that he married Lila Greene, while the others were just guessing, but he couldn't know the exact number. He could only hope that the number is lower than he thought it was.

Nothing weighs on us so heavily as a secret Empty Re: Nothing weighs on us so heavily as a secret

It was truth that Elizabeth was pretty cold and uninterested in society (she’s not very friendly person). But there’s one other side of Elizabeth, the one no one knows about. She is a mother of two beautiful girls and she loved them more than anything. Her mother instinct is there all the time (even though her girls are far away from here, she is still mother). So it can be said that she’s a bit weak when it comes to kids. Not just her kids but globally speaking kids. That she considers her biggest weakness. However, she’s keeping that problem for herself.
This morning she realized that she’ll need to blackmail Caiden. It wasn't her first time, blackmailing someone. It wasn't her first time blackmailing Caiden too. She done that before, but unsuccessfully (she wasn't really trying to blackmail him, the truth is she was just bored. And Lord, he’s just a boy!).
Even thought she was weak on kids, she loved them secretly, she considered Caiden very flexible and intelligent (but not as good as she is of course), she was pretty happy when she received her daily post. Her little birds were doing excellent job these past days that she could feel victory in the air. Soon, it will all be over. Soon, she’ll be able to destroy everyone who tried to hurt her and her family. With little help from her aunts and little luck, and this blackmail and some few more things, she’ll finally be herself again.

Caiden looked uninterested as usual, but mentioning his wife made him become more careful. Or so Elizabeth thought. Soon she’ll known more about that relationship and more about his muggle born wife – poor thing, she could totally understood why he killed her. But for now, she had enough proves to finally blackmail him, like she would blackmail some of hers enemies. Again, poor thing. She smiled as he literally choked. There we go, the show has begun.
“You know kid, one day I may start liking that nickname.” She smiled warmly, like they are best friend in the world, or better yet, like he’s her younger brother or so. “This day is so beautiful, it couldn't be better!” She took another sip, thinking about her strategy. Elizabeth loves games, very much. So now, she’ll play one. She wont tell him anything, yet. At least not directly. Well she will, but it will be more like informal chatting. Something they usually do.
“You’re seventh year, right? And your muggy wifey? She’s on Hogs too I assumed. Oh, please don’t tell me she’s older than you!” she looked him through narrow eyes, smirking.

Nothing weighs on us so heavily as a secret Empty Re: Nothing weighs on us so heavily as a secret

Caiden liked Elizabeth as much as he liked having pneumonia. But somehow she would always find her way, the same way as disease, to reach him, thought he had no idea why is she doing that. Despite his known surname he was pretty much regular guy, the one who's not interested in his family politics, the one whodoesn't need power. Usual. Ordinary. Boring. So far, he couldn't think of any way how could he possibly be useful to her, trying to find a reason why she can't leave him alone, and he didn't find anything. Usually her blackmailing wouldn't affect him, not even a little bit, since he never had anything he wanted to keep a secret no matter what. Until now. He didn't know why she often tried to blackmail him, not that he thought a lot about that, but that woman was as boring as hell.

The thing that she really did know what happened to Lila, concerned him. He glared at her, trying to make her leave him alone but he was never a lucky one, if he was he wouldn't marry Lila in the first place, but he did so, and his weird family was completely satisfied with his wife, even since she was a muggle born witch. His father even told him he chose well, like he could choose at all, if he could Lila would be last on the list. He rolled his eyes and sighed preparing for her torturing, he doubted he could say her to back off and leave, this time, and keep his secret safe. This time he was forced to play her game. "Why would you care, even if she is?" Kai honestly didn't know when his dead wife was born, never asked her when she was alive, he simply never wanted to know, and he couldn't ask her now just to tell Elizabeth, providing that he wanted to say that.
