Welcome to Potter’s Army

Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

1st meeting Li9olo10

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

1st meeting Empty 1st meeting

Post by Miseria Lupin Thu Sep 01, 2011 11:59 am

She felt weird entering the room without Jack or Mariana waiting for the other’s arrival. This time, and for whole year, she was the one who was going to teach student’s spells and curses, how to protect themselves, and what to do in different situations.
Miseria looked around, chewing her lip. Thanks to Louis, she got the idea what to do on the first meeting. The Potter’s Army consisted of strong members who had potential in them, and in the battles or duels they had their chanse to show it. But what she wanted to do was to make all of them even Better.
Paranoid, like always, she was sure that the Death Eaters would strike again next time, just to kill somebody for fun, and they Had to be ready!

Dueling. And Patronuses. That was her plan for today. She wanted to see how they’d do in a duel. The dummies that she wished for appeared out of nowhere, and she waved her wand, covering all of them in black robes. Their face was hidden behind the similar masks that the Death Eaters were wearing. The dummies, however, were enchanted. They’d strike back if the spell was casted at them, and they’d protect themself if necessary.
Humming quitetly to herself, and wondering how the meeting will go, she leaned against the wall, and looked at the door. The members should come any minute now.

This was it, this is what Louis was waiting for, a Potters Army meeting. Louis had been sleeping then had gotten up to do his prefect job, he was waiting to see how much all Potters Army had grown up, he walked towards the room of requirment, and smiled, it was that time again, as he got there he felt weird, this year without Jack, Andrew, or Mariana. He was the Deputy leader, yes technically it was nothing to be proud of but he was proud of it, he walked in to so Mis.

"Mis!" He said, having not seen her in a while, he gave her a hug. He looked around at the empty room of requirment, "So........... How was your summer?" He asked, hoping people would come soon and not forget that they had Potters Army. This place, it didn't look new from the battle, had this place been harmed? Louis was starting to get curious.

Rhys skipped into the room and looked around. "Hello!" She said grinning at the two in the room. "I'm so excited! So... you're Miseria? Isn't that kinda sad? Having a name that sounds like Misery? Sad for me, I'd change my name to be honest, oh! Hi Louis!" She said grinning at the two and looking around. "This is like, my first year in Potter's Army, I'm so excited!" she grinned at the two, and observed the room, walking around, her arms behind her back, bending over and examining things closely. "So this room can take on the shape of whatever you want? That's so neat!" She grinned at them and found a cushion in the corner. "ooohhh soft!" She grabbed one and threw it on the floor in front of Miseria and Louis.

"Nice to meet you, sorry, I'm Rhys O'Neill... as I said I'm new to the whole, PA thingy... what ya gonna teach us today? Or should I just wait until others get here? I'm kinda getting ahead of myself." She said grinning at them both and falling back on the cushions, relaxing completely and grinning at the other two. "So this is the place you all hang out? I'm excited now.. is Sam gonna be here? Or am I like.. seriously early?" She asked lounging back on the cushion and putting her hands behind her head, smiling up at the two.

Hitame had been waiting on PA's first meeting. She was looking forward to a... better year with Potter's Army this year. Last year wasn't her best one, or so she thought. Jack was gone, so not seeing her there was going to be weird for the young Gryffindor. But at least the new leader was Miseria. Hitame thought she would make a pretty darn good leader, but that was just her perspective. Some others might not see it like that.

She entered the room quickly and quietly, as if she was sneaking into a class or something. Of course it wouldn't work here because there was only like three people. Mis, Louis and that hyperactive girl in her house... Rhys. She slowly walked up to them and gave an obviously forced smile to the three. "Hi." she said with a light wave of her hand. Her smile quickly faded and she walked back toward the wall, leaning on it, observing the room.

It seemed somehow different to her, she couldn't quite place her finger on what she thought was so different. But that was just how it felt. She shrugged it off and looked at her feet, crossing her arms over her stomache.

Louis was the first one to arrive, and Miseria wasn’t even impressed to see him entering the room, while the other student’s were probably getting ready. She hugged him back, feeling littlebit strange at the same time. She wasn’t used to hugs. Not even from the people who she hasn’t seen in a while. “Yes, it’s nice to see you, too,“ she finally replied to him, trying to sound soft and friendly, but the words came out only emotionless and cold.
“My summer has been great, thank you,“ she replied again, looking then away. She didn’t have any interests in what was Louis doing during his summer, but the politeness what she was holding against her ’comrades’, she found it almost necessary to ask the same question back. “And you? Had a lot of fun?“

When one younger girl came in, she rolled her eyes, when she felt the positivity reaching even for her. “It is from the word Misery, and it means Misery. I never thought you'd notice!“ She said. Dumbass. Oh how she wanted to add it, but instead, she only stared at her with cold eyes, and sneered:“And you? I’d like to change my own name too, if it would sound like Rice and mean Running.“
Newbie. That explained a lot to her. Miseria sighed quietly, and looked away. Right now, when she was thinking about how she should teach the students, and at the same time be kind and helpful, she really didn’t want to listen to a little girl babbling about something that didn’t make any sense.

“Hi,“ she replied to Hitame before she walked away, and leaned against the wall. Miseria looked at the door. How long will it take before the rest of the members will arrive? They couldn’t wait forever for them. She wondered how Jack, Andrew, Mari and others before them felt when they were waiting. Well, Miseria could start even without them. IT was their own problem if they couldn’t make it. She had sent letters to each one of them... Patience. She said to herself in her mind. You’re just nervous. First time... You know. The inner voice was right, it always has been.

1st meeting Empty Re: 1st meeting

Had it not been for Elliot then Millie would have still been wrapped up in the book Professor Lola had given her a few hours before and she would have completely missed the faction meeting that was due to take place that evening. She was sure that had he not appeared at the mouth of the covered bridge then she would have stayed where she was until she couldn’t see the words on the page in front of her, and even then she probably would have remained out there. She was more than just simply engrossed in the tome she’d been given, she’d been absorbed by it, absorbed by the information that still essentially meant very little to her. It did have some worth though. It meant something - otherwise she would have given up already. The only problem was that she didn’t know what it all meant.

When Elliot appeared at the mouth of the Covered Bridge and called her name she was immediately roused from the book. She lifted her head, her cigarette dangling precariously between her lips, and gave him a half smile which consisted of her quirking the left side of her mouth upwards. Elliot took his hand from his trouser pocket and produced the medallion that had been used to contact PA members - or DA, as was its previous initials - since the 1990’s. He flicked it towards her and Millie took her hands from the book. She cupped them together and caught the medallion easily, her hands closing around it to prevent it from moving any further. She opened her hands a little and blew a small breath of air against the coin before bringing her hands up to her ear.

The subtle ringing told her exactly what it had Elliot. They were expected in the Room of Requirement. It was the old way of communication and rarely used anymore. They were hardly a conspicuous group now. Still, at least they were meeting - that was something.

Millie sighed and tucked the medallion into her robe pocket. She flipped her book shut and shoved it into her back before flicking her cigarette away and swinging her legs over the boulder. She straightened up and dusted some invisible pieces of lint off of her robes. She looked up at Elliot at the sound of his throat clearing and she smirked at him before striding leisurely over, as if they had all of the time in the world. From Millie’s point of view they had and as they started off walking side by side back to the castle, she was more than willing to sidetrack them. And sidetrack them she did.

By the time they made it to the Room of Requirement, Millie had hexed two Slytherins and had managed to create an ‘accidental’ explosion that had sent a suit of armour toppling down the stairs behind them. Her brother had no idea how she’d managed it but he wasn’t going to question it. Unfortunately though, Millie was on her own once she entered the room. Elliot muttered something about needing to study and offered his apologies before walking briskly back down the hallway. Millie snorted despairingly and pushed the gilded door open.

When she entered, the head of PA was half way through the explanation of her name. Millie smirked and couldn’t resist opening her mouth to quip, “Wow. Bummer. Double the misery, eh? Does stuff like that make you more prone to depression? Hi, by the way.” Millie yawned dramatically and chucked her bag on a seat that had materialised to the left of the door. She shed her robes, tugged her jumper over her head and dumped her things down on top of her bag. “Ah well, shit happens. Can’t pick your parents. If you could then we’d all have better names. Anyway, let’s get cracking shall we? I’ve got cigarettes to smoke and Firewhisky to drink so I’d like this wrapped up fast, ladies.”

Barnabus the Barmy, or whatever his name had been, was really an idiot. I mean, who in their right mind would try and train trolls to dance... mind you, that was probably where the barmy bit came into it, Sam supposed.

The Room of Requirement was very handy, Sam had always found. Once he'd found out about it, it'd really become his own personal refuge, perfect for the occasional hiding spot, or to find something interesting to do, it was really, truly quite handy.

But today, or rather tonight, it was serving one of its more standard purposes - the meeting place of Potter's Army, a group of students he was apart of which met every few weeks or days to learn new things, and discuss and plan ideas out.

Walking into the room he quickly spotted the small group of people and waved. "Hey Mis," he said cheerily, waving to the girl and everyone else in the room, before spotting Rhys.

"Oh hi Rhys, I didn't see you there," he said with a grin, nudging her pillow with his foot and summoning his own to sit next to her. "This patch of ground taken?" he asked with a wink, not bothering to wait for an answer, and dropping onto the cushion next to her.

Alex found Parkour to be absolutley usless at times, but at times it was actually pretty useful, as a guard was following Alex, someone had said something about Potters Army, and someone had said something about Alex being in Potters Army, the guard had been following him, Alex had to make sure, he took a walk around the castle, and the bridge, so the person had been following him, Alex smiled and threw up crunchy leaves in the air, the Guard looked up at them, and when he looked down.

Alex wasn't there anymore, he had used parkour to get in the castle, my jumping down by the mountains, grabbing the stone poles, and climbed up, running through the sides of the bridge, jumping into the window. And in the hall. Alex looked at the hall, walking toward the room of Requirment, making sure no one had followed him this time and he entered. "Hey Guys." He said in a little voice, taking his pillow and sitting by Samuel and Rhys. Alex waved to them and said "Did I miss anything?"

Post by Miseria Lupin Tue Sep 06, 2011 4:12 pm

Miseria sighed quietly, and rolled her eyes. Usually members of the Potter’s Army were a little more polite than today. Or perhaps they were just testing her. Another sigh escaped from between her lips when she looked at Millie with annoyed look. Suddenly she felt how everything inside went cold, and she turned herself around. Mis was proud of her parents. Really proud. They had everything. Happy family, big house, and they were also rich. She was adopted. Before that her parents were murdered by the Death Eaters which was the reason why she joined the Army. She wanted to defeat them all and she wanted to make them pay for every single thing that they’ve done in their miserable lives!

“If you think that cigarettes and firewhisky are more important than our meeting, then feel free to go.“ She replied coldly.
When two of the members came in, Miseria turned herself around, and looked over them. There weren’t many of them, but enough to start with their practical studies. “I wish you happy new school year or school year full of miserable studying if you like it this way more,“ she grinned when she looked over them.

Although she looked like she didn’t care much about the meeting nor the members, she was really nervous from the inside which was why she was careful with her words:“I can not promise you that I will be better leader than Jack, Andrew or Mariana, in fact, I might be even worse than they’d ever be – all together, but I promise you that I will give my best to teach you how to defend yourself against the dark arts, and all together we will learn how to defeat our enemies all together.“

She chewed her lip. God, lectures or introducing parts weren’t her things... “Alright. First thing what we’re going to do today is practise dueling.“ Miseria stepped aside and waved her wand. Dummies, dressed as the Death eaters rolled forward, stopping right next her. “I know – i know, you’ve all pointed your wands at those figures before, and some of you even fought in the battle, but that’s not enough. Those dummies here-“ she pointed with her wand at the closest figure to her:“aren’t the usual ones. They will strike back if you cast a spell at them. Be careful because if you cast a strong spell at it, it will protect itself, and it will attack you back, however, it has it’s limits and the point of today’s lesson is reaching It! Take it as ’fight until the end’ or something like that.

If you’ll get tired, you can take a break. The thing understands you, after all, it is the part of the Room of Requierments.“ Miseria took few steps forward, waiting for them to ask questions about the task or something.

Post by Roxanne Avery Weasley Wed Sep 07, 2011 12:03 am

Roxi had impeccable timing really. She was simply brilliant when it came to such things. Sure, she was not what one, or anyone, would call punctual, but she arrived when she was needed. She just had that talent, that skill, that lucky break, whatever you wanted to call it... Roxi seemed to have it.

She was late because she had went up to retrieve some lip gloss from her dorm- it was one of those things you needed to duel, right? That was when she had seen Alice Longbottom sitting on her bed, playing her silly little guitar. Roxi knew Alice- the Longbottoms and the Weasleys were soul-family, after all! So she had reminded Alice, who had said she was not sure if she was going.

Ensue hilarity as Roxi drug the smaller girl up to the Room of Requirement.

Inside the room, after Mis had released the group there had been an awkward pause- if they had questions, did they ask? Or did they start the task?

That was when Roxi burst in, singing at the top of her lungs, "BABY YOU'RE A FIIIIIIIIIII-" That was when she relalized how late she was. She stopped, releasing Alice, and said in an untertone, "-rework." She chuckled nervously. "Hi guys." She waved. "What are we doing? Oh, the dummies. So we're duelling then?" Alice snuck away.
