"I think you look lovely," Simone smiled at Ruby. "You have every right to feel like a princess. "You will be a beautiful bride, I have no doubt. They'd better recognize us because, no offense, but I really don't want to end up marrying Angus by mistake." She laughed gently.
"Here are your bouquets," Bridget said, handing Simone her big bouquet of taupe colored roses and other fresh flowers with sage and taupe ribbons, and handing Ruby a smaller version. They heard the music starting, and Bridget said to them. "It's time. Ruby, its time for you to go join Angus."
She escorted Ruby out of the tent and to the end of the aisle where the family they were used to living with were all sitting in the front half of the seats and the back half was filled by the Donohues that had decided to attend. Robert was dressed in a sharp, dark gunmetal gray suit with a darker paisley colored waistcoat. Angus's all terrain chair was at the front, where the best man would normally stand during the ceremony, and he was sitting in his indoor chair at the back of the aisle, with Andrew standing right behind the chair. Angus was wearing a brown herringbone tweed with a lighter color waistcoat and a teal green tie, and he matched Edward's suit. Edward was standing in front of Angus, since he would go down the aisle first.
"Ruby, you look lovely," Andrew said to her quietly. "Are you ready?"
"I don't know if I've ever seen you looking more beautiful," Angus told her, smiling.
"I can't imagine you looking lovelier," Edward said to her. "Very nice, indeed." The processional music started, and Edward looked at them as a silent question about whether they were ready. Angus looked at Ruby and then at Edward and nodded. They were ready. Edward started down the aisle, and Angus looked at Ruby.
"I know you're supposed to walk after me, but just this once, walk with me," he told her, standing. "I am not going to go down the aisle to Edward in my chair. I want to be on my feet."
"If you walk on his left, I'll steady him on his right," Andrew told her. "He can sit when he gets up there. I think he can do this if we just steady him. Ready? It's time."
