LONDON CALLING

Ruby listened and could not agree more with Roberts words " good Angus needs space from him" she heard him offer to make supper nd she nodded " all right but the rolls should be done" she said as the smell wafted over to them " okay, i'll take them out to cool and then take her for her bath,also I like the idea of company tonight , that bed still feel too large for one person, beside I have some carrots fresh dug up she can munch on while I read the story" Ruby smiled " not too many of course."

Standing she made her way to the kitchen removing the rolls from the oven and placing them on a cooling wire to cool ready for the next days meal or supper. Now she headed to the play room to find Abby to ready her for her bath. " Hey Abby if you take a bath you can stay over at mine tonight, we can have a girls sleep over and I'll read that bunny book ." she said as she entered the play room.

"Yeah!" Abbey nodded enthusiastically. "No growed ups allowed."

"No grown ups allowed?" Robert echoed. "So I can't come?"

"No. You're a growed up and you're a boy. No boys allowed," Abbey said. Robert was completely unsuccessful at hiding his amusement.

"What about Jack? Can he come?" Robert asked.

"Well, he's a boy, but he's not growed up so maybe. I dunno," she said. Robert roared with laughter.

"How much bigger will Jack get, do you think?" Robert was curious.

"This much," she reached her little hand up as high as it would go.

"You're not tall enough, evidently, Jack. There is apparently a height requirement," Robert laughed.

"If you can get her to eat raw carrots, you're better than most of us," Robert laughed.

"Peanut butter," Kate said.

"Peanut butter what?"

"Spread peanut butter on the carrot sticks. Works every time," Kate smiled.

"Now why didn't i think of that?" Robert frowned.

"Because you're not often the one making the snacks," she laughed. "What do you think? Good old bangers and mash for supper for a change?"

"Oh, now that's what I call comfort food," Robert said. "Ruby's rolls would be perfect with that."

"Maybe we can roast some root vegetables on a sheet pan as a side dish. Jess, what should we do as a dessert? Maybe Angus's apple dumplings?"

Rby smiled at Abbys enthusiasum then laughed as she called Jack a boy. She could see the amusment on his face as he pulled a face but laughed with tehm all " oh clearly" he said " but I have to say if I grow any bigger Jess will have words " he said patting his tummy. Ruby listened to Kates idea and chuckled "alright, off to the bath we go then around to my place for penut carrott sticks" she said picking up Abby and heading to the bathroom.

Jess sat and smiled when asked about desert she thought about it then agreed with Kate Apple dumplings sound great Kate, might need your help as I've never made them before." she said standing and heading to the kitchen glad everythign was now back on a level until the boys came home that is. She paused and looked at Robert " Im still readying the sick bay though." she said and glanced at Jack who nodded.

"that boy needs a take down , big time" he said " from what we know hes starting to act like his father and that needs to be knocked out of him." Jack said flexing his mucles " and Im the man to do just that."

"Not a problem," Kate told Jess. "Angus has the recipe in his notebook." She went and got it and opened the notebook to the right page. Angus' instructions were very detailed an precise, and some of the recipes had pictures with them.

Kate put together the bangers and mash and a sheet pan of root vegetables and put it all in the oven to bake, and then she set in to peel and core the apples to help Jess with the baking.

"Well," Robert told Jack, "I'm sure you're right, but I'm more concerned as to why he's had this apparently lifelong need to control Ruby--even after she's told him repeatedly to stop. I'm sure he doesn't mean it but it makes him not one jot better than his parents. They did their share of abuse and neglect, and his controlling her against her will makes him absolutely not one little bit better. And that's part of what Michael is reacting to. The other part of it is that Jessie is just flat out belittling Angus by his attitudes and remarks and behaviors. And Angus has had a lifetime of that from his own blood family. He absolutely will not be treated like that here. I won't have it. He's been here far longer than Jessie, so if Jessie puts me in the position where I have to pick, Jessie might not like the answer I give him."

"Maybe he needs to go for some intensive training," Kate suggested quietly.

Jess looked at the book and nodded , taking out a bowl she mixed the ingreidiates for the dough , some flour, butter salt, alittle milk and baking powder once mixed she rolled it out and cut it into squares then she peeled and decored the apples wrappng each in some of the dough then placed them in a pan , making a cinamom sugary syrup she pored it over the top just to coat then placed them in the oven to cook. " okay thats done." she said to Kate " want hand?" she asked

Jack listened to Robert and shook his head " thats not right, even though I never had a family till i was found by you guys I still never forced anything on Jess." he said " I agree with Kate" he said " he needs retraining, mentaly, right?" he said glancing at Kate and Jess in the kitchen " where ever you send him make sure some one there can put his head and thoughts on right."

"Sure," Kate smiled. "I don't know if I'll ever get tired of being in the kitchen. And Angus has this one so well organized. It doesn't seem to matter what I'm cooking, whatever I want seems to be right at my fingertips."

"He does need some sort of additional training, I agree," Robert said. "I'll have a floo conversation with Kieran and see what he can offer him. Paris won't give him the intensity that Colorado will, and he might need some tight structure for awhile. One of us really does need to talk to Kaden. It isn't fair for him to b ethe only one who doesn't know."

"Don't meddle in his relationship, Robert," Kate said.

"It isn't meddling. Its simple fact. What Kaden and Jessie do about it is up to them. I wouldn't dream of telling either of them what to do with their relationship. Jessie can either go to whatever training I find for him, or he can find another job. It is up to Kaden and Jessie what they do with their relationship. That is absolutely none of my business."

"But is telling Kaden anything a type of meddling?" she asked.

"Is leaving him in the dark a kindness or a curse? What would you want if it were you and me, Kate, and everyone else knew there was a problem but you?"

"Well, when you put it like that..." she sighed. "It isn't an enviable choice."

"Does anyone here think I should let Kaden find out from Jessie?" Robert asked. "or do I tell him? Opinions, All?"

Jess loked up just as Kaden ported in " I know hes not here but I couldn't stay away" he said smiling but then seeing the seriouness on every ones face he sighed " okay whats he done now?" he asked his arms folded across his chest.

Jess looked at Robert as she spoke " Tell him" she said and went back to cooking with Kate Jack looked at Kaden and sighed .

"hes been a prat, but I'll let Robert tell you" he saw Kaden frown. then turn to Robert.

"alright whats it about, whats the prat done now?" he said " by the way I expected him to do... something, but I trust your judgement. " he said as he moved to sit with Robert. to hear him out.

"Well, he's apparently been treating Ruby and Angus rather badly, including not being so very charitable towards Angus on the mission. Their contacts in Romania is a couple that is the current generation of a family that has been close to the Donohues because of Edward's work for at least two generations, maybe more. When Angus was a boy the Romanian family was a large one--eight children--all boys but one. The youngest was girl that was Angus's age. By the time Angus had reached seventeen, he and the girl were romantically involved, and they were together in a physical relationship for four or five years. They broke up when Angus was 22 and he went so far as to introduce her to a Romanian mate of his. The girl and the Romanian mate got married ten years ago, and they now have three children of their own. Angus doesn't have any romantic feelings for the girl now, and they trust Angus with their lives. They even call him their brother.

"I was the one who chose them as the contacts for the mission because they live in the village at the foot of the mountain and they run a waystation for wizarding lightworkers. The waystation goes back generations. Both the man and the woman are good guides, top notch fighters and excellent mountain climbers. However, Jessie hasn't been able to let it go. He's been making things even more miserable than normal for Angus, not being able to trust that he can be around them and betray Ruby. When Brian asked him what his issue was, he came out and said that, basically, he needed to protect Ruby from Angus because Angus isn't good for her because he hasn't married her and impregnated her already. So far as I'm concerned, Jessie's gone entirely too far. Angus Donohue isn't perfect, but loyalty is one of his strongest traits. He would never, ever betray Ruby. He loves her. The house and the plans they've made should be enough evidence of that. They don't need to be married to have children--when they're ready, and not before. But with as fresh as his parents' deaths are in Angus's mind, the last thing he needed was anyone else who believed he was a tosser and not good enough. The hurt and the damage he might have done to Angus is not something I can let simply go unanswered to."

Kaden sat and listened closly to Robert nodding along as he spoke " and now you feel the right thing would be to send him for counsling to stop those actions and thoughts , am I right?" he said " well as his life partner I agree" he said simply as he didn't need convincing. " I have seen it too and I agree his father did a number on his mind and now he needs to change, I know he was planning something when he came back but , only when you say so, im not cutting ties with him I care for him too much, but if you want I should back off a little untill hes fixed I will." he said " I've seen to many good people become bitter becuse of axiaty and horrible thoughts and hes deep inside a good guy, just lead astray." he said leaning on his knees he waited for Robert to respond. " I also know Angus is a good guy too and hes best with Ruby , both would not ever mistrust each other."


He sat for a moment thinking more " where could you send him for help?" he asked " Im assumbing you have a facility that can help him?" he asked " if not I know of one in colarado, it was whispered to me by a fellow nurse she sent her sister there and they took real good care of her."

"Well, I know of two, depending on the kind of care he needs," Robert said. "If he needs outpatient services, he could go to Brian's Colorado ranch. That's where a lot of our people go to train when they first start with us, particularly if they have no experience in fighting. And because it is a working horse and cattle ranch, there is a lot of hard physical work there to help give structure. However, if he needs any inpatient stay, I would send him to a very exclusive clinic in the Swiss alps. It is run by a man who is a psychiatrist and also practices medicine there. He is very skilled and capable of both. His facility is much more of a resort but it does provide some intensive counseling and guidance. I don't know if you've heard of him or not. His name is Jeffrey Burnstein. He is the Nigel Sigworth of his field. His facility is quite lovely. There is a main building there with some elegant rooms, and also some small whitewashed thatched Scottish style cottages for patients to be stepped down to once they no longer need the sort of intense care that the main building provides. Jeffrey normally starts with one of the most thorough physicals I've ever seen, and then he starts working on any mental and emotional issues. His patients either have some significant ilnesses or injuries or mental health issues. It is possible that he could go to Jeffrey first and then step down to Colorado. We've done that before too."

"I don't doubt that his childhood is a significant part of what's going on, but for some reason, Angus's relationship with Ruby was a a huge trigger for him. I know he had some issues from his military time, but there was something about losing control over Ruby that has really set him off and he's apparently not having it. I don't want him hurting anybody. Nor do i want Angus and Ruby to have issues because of his behaviors. It really would take a few days to put anything together so I think he and Angus and Ruby need to be kept apart until whatever choices that need to be made are put into place.
