Bertie will be a fifth year when Hogwarts re-opens so I'm sure they'll know each other, even if he tends to keep himself to himself?

Well that's probably true, but the issue is that even if they knew each other, one would have to make some sort of move towards talking or friendship, and it definitely wouldn't be Kit.

I don't think it would be Bertie either, so perhaps they're just aware of each other for future roleplaying if they're ever put together in a lesson or land themselves in a situation at the castle together?

Yeah, for sure. Especially with being in the same year, now that she's held back one. He would know about her leaving school and also about her not having to go through with the Marriage Law, both of which we could use if they get the chance Smile

Darius is also quite an outgoing person so I believe that if Kit was relatively popular around her peers, he might even know her which leads to the fact that they don't need to go through the awkward introduction part. So yeah, I offer Dardar.
Also, if you don't want him, I can offer you Amber Lockwood, she is a fifth year Ravenclaw so that even if they don't necessarily know each other (Amber is an awkward penguin type of a girl), they might get along quite well. She is also very friendly and trustworthy.

D'you wanna start with Darius and see what happens? Katherine studies pretty diligently, especially since she was away for half the year, so he could find her reading somewhere, even if it's not the library. Wherever he typically hangs out could probably work.

Suits me perfectly. But then again - can you start? I am at the school atm and I need to do some reading. Basically if you want me to start, on the other hand, that will take over ten hours because I live far away and while I travel back home it also takes some time.
