Out for a Walk (Miseria + Open+ Demons) Empty Out for a Walk (Miseria + Open+ Demons)

The Police had become more frequent. That much James concluded as he heard the sirens wail for the third consecutive time that day. James looked from his new DADA book, watching the grimy window. Somehow, he had become more attuned to the events of the surrounding area ever since he had returned to Alan's dusty little apartment. Maybe it was because of the old man's training habits. Finding a good way to attack Alan was like find an ant in the woods. The probability of success was so drastically minimal that James would have given up, had Alan allowed him.

Today, however, James was not going to put up with any of his uncle's tricks. Unless this was a trick he was playing on the boy, the police were after some real threat. And James, being the naturally inquisitive boy he was, decided to take a look.

---------------------------------------------

It did not take long to find that policemen were caught in a infinite loop. They were receiving calls from people who did not exist, on a street that did not exist. Either it was a prank call, or some wizard was desperate to reach out for muggle help. The more James thought about it, the more he came to conclude that the call was from Diagon Alley. It was not far from his home, and a simple, muggle-born child could easily take out their cell phone. As James entered the establishment locals referred to as the Leaky Cauldron, he ruled out such a possibility. The poor child would have found that their cell phone would receive no service in Diagon Alley. Counter-charms had been thoroughly ingrained in the very bricks the wizards had built the place upon.

As James tapped the bricks to enter the little wizard shopping district, his mind was bursting with ideas. How had the police received a call from Diagon Alley?

The various theories were writhing in James' mind when he spotted the little ice cream store he had frequented last year. James checked his pockets. Nothing but a knife, a piece of chalk and chalky lint. But that was not a problem for the alchemist. It was an ignoble practice, but alchemizing one's own galleons had proven to be a decent way to make a living. He smiled to the person serving the ice cream, placed his order and, as the woman turned around quickly alchemized a coin from the bottom of the counter. Nothing to it. James allowed himself the satisfaction of a confident smile before he sat down, his mind turning to the mysterious caller.

Though Miseria heard about the muggle policemen, she didn't may much attention to it. Her head was full of other ideas, facts, This strange guy who attacked her and Garulia in London, and school. What she wanted to know was that Who was this person who could control fire only with some strange words. She had concidered latin, and yet, she wasn't even sure about it. And the strenght! The picture when he ripped the poor muggle apart didn't disappear nowhere. It hunted her almost every time when she was trying to think.
She even did a research but there were no books that explained her what they were dealing with. It murdered muggles, and it seemed that even wizards were no match for this. If order would have such an allie, they'd win every fight and there would be no death eaters, but that would mean more deaths.

When she reached the ice cream shop, what wasn't actually her destination, but she just felt that it was about time to eat something, whatever it was, she ordered a banana flavored ice cream, and took her wallet from her bag. Paying for her desert, she took a sit behind the nearest table, and put the ice cream on it. She ran her fingers trough her hair, and sighed in a slight confusion. Maybe it was just time to sneak somewhere more private place in library and check what do they have there?

OOC: Should we just chat until a demon pops out?

James spotted Miseria two seats away. Normally, he was not the person who would initiate a conversation. Frankly, he was quite anti social. But he had stayed in that apartment for too long. The sun was a welcome change, but the rest was just annoying. His mind was trying to adjust for the new locale. There was no norm in the sound, no human pitch unheard. It would have been maddening had there not been so many conflicting thoughts milling about. He needed a change. That would probably shake things up.

So, James picked up his ice cream, and sat at Miseria's table. It was a rash, completely unthought move. Just enough to get his mind out of the rut to come up with something to say. "Hey Miseria."

OT: I think so.

Miseria almost jumped up when she saw a movement. She looked up, and took a deep breathe. No attacks this time. Only James Wake who greeted her. “Hey James,“ she replied, smiling quickly at him. She didn't know how odd she seemed right now because the time when she was that thoughtful was usually in some lessons. But that was a rare thing. Usually she knew an answer. Yet, James was now here and she could just question him! Not unlike her, he was atleast smart.
“Enjoying summer?“ she asked. Then she took her ice cream, and a little white spoon and poked with it her ice cream. No, no apetite yet. Maybe she could just throw this sweet and cold thing away? She had no use of it at all.

“And how's going?“ She gave her best to sound more friendly and like everyone else who really loved the summer. Actually she prefered winter. This season was most beautiful, though cold, but full of surprises. She loved snow, and the way it went darker with only five or six hours after the sunrise. But besides that, since when James started a conversation himself?

"My summer's has been... substantial..." James never made it a point to refer to his summer as "entertaining." It hardly ever was. But he noticed how unnerved Miseria looked. What was wrong with her? More theories abound, but he was adjusting to the stimulation of the heat, the noise and the smell of summer. His mind could now easily examine the area. Miseria did indeed seem odd. He let another spoon of ice cream melt in his mouth before deciding to pry. He continued, relying on the silence to carry the central thought over.
"Though... it would appear as though your summer has not..." he said, posing the question in a statement, and allowing her to respond and explain.

Substantial. Atleast he was lucky. Maybe he and his uncle had a fun time in the summer? She'd leave London right away if she'd knew where her aunts and uncles live. Though, it would be even more... stranger to her. All of them were close to her parents but not her. She has always been an outcast. “I'm happy for you. Did you have a fun time or you were only reading?“ she asked. She didn't actually even know why she was acting so strange right now. Perhaps she was just nervous, and yet, she couldn't even calm down.
“My summer was rather interesting. I visited Italy, and had little family fun,“ she said. Dakota was growing with every day. She took a deep breathe, and then took her spoon, and twirled it with her fingers.
You can just breathe and calm down... a voice inside her head said quietly. Damn, she had complained so much in those days. Of course she already annoyed herself.

James had to stiffle a chuckle when she said "happy." If only the girl knew the terror that was his home. If only she knew that the closest thing to vacation he ever had was school. But the laugh only appeared in the twinkling of his eyes, before they iced over, staring intently at the lying girl. The way she twirled her spoon. The drops in her pitch. Had he really become that attuned to emotion? That would come to bite him in the rear at some point...

"You know, Miseria..." James began as he finished his ice cream. He would have to elicit some reaction out of her. He did not wish to ask about the events of her summer bluntly, but she was leaving him with little choice. But James was patient. If anything, he could patiently wheedle out the truth. She wasn't herself, and that worried James. "Usually, though I can't tell you from personal experience, a family trip to Italy does not leave one as... despondent as you are."

She noticed the change in his eyes before the same James was back. It seemed that her words sounded funny for him. Why? Did she say something really that funny or he took her words so serious, and thought that she actually was proud of him? Yes, of course she was happy that some of her friends had fun in summer, but... she resisted to allow herself a shrug.
Suddenly Miseria stopped playing with the spoon, and put it on the ice cream what was already melting. Soon it will be just a yellow and cold soup. Haha, soup indeed. She looked up from the ice cream, and stared at him with an emotionless face. “Despondent?“ she repeated him, raising her eyebrow. She was actually the one who wanted to ask questions to get to know a little about the thing that attacked her, and also frightened, but it seemed that it wasn't right time. “Oh no, I was satisfied with the trip. But there is one thing. I went to Italy alone.“

She grinned at him, though, her brown eyes stayed calm and cold this time. Yes, she was too young to travel all alone, but she never ever had said that age is what matters. If she's already a mother, why can't she explore the world as well?

Out for a Walk (Miseria + Open+ Demons) Empty Re: Out for a Walk (Miseria + Open+ Demons)

Hashmisin would've been dead of exhaustion, if it wasn't for the fact that he was already dead. He had worked the last 36 hours straight, interrogating people whom he suspected of being some sort of wizard. 30 human beings died by his hand, the blood still stained on his hands and face. He had also been a little hungry before, yet his appetite was quite gone now. After working, he had managed to find a single wizard and had lost her. Her name still rang in his head, his mind still blood lust for revenge. Why hadn't he killed her at the chance? She was probably better off dead anyway. Yet it was just one sorceress. He had managed to find another sorcerer however and found the location of a bazaar of where the sorcerers shopped and traded for their needs.

Now was his time to strike.
---------------------------

Hashmisin appeared through a dark portal through the ground, inside a dark alleyway, avoiding the sunlight. Frankly, any type of light began to hurt him sporadically and was going to need some backup for this next mission. The Leader had given him the same request as before: find a youth sorcerer and capture them for their own purposes. Yet the main priority was to just instill fear, like always. Looking around, the General used his vocal chords to emit a dark piercing audio that sounded like two hyenas choking to death.

The sky suddenly turned a lot darker, as little flocks of dead birds began to shield out the sun, hundreds of them dying each second. He would have more than enough time to find and capture one of these sorcerers, yet he needed to be quick. Arching back his arm, he let forward a punch that could easily split a man in two if anyone had dared walked in front of him. His fist collided with the wall, the entire foundation exploding and letting loose many particles. With two thundering footsteps, Hashmisin stepped into the building, and rolled his neck, the bones sounded like metal scraping on metal.

Things were almost too easy.

There were already two children standing there, chatting and conversing yet probably petrified to see a 7 foot monster standing in their wake. The generals face toke a twisted form of a smile, to show his satisfaction. This was going to be a good fight, something that he really needed. Chase had managed to put up a fight, leaving him scars on his face as well, in the form of a large crater that was yet to be healed. "You two," he said in a booming voice and aiming his pale finger towards the table where the two had sat "come with me. NOW!"

Out for a Walk (Miseria + Open+ Demons) Empty Re: Out for a Walk (Miseria + Open+ Demons)

There it was. The impetus he needed. The stimulation that always got his andrenaline raging. That was fear. It had struck him before. His metal arm was his prize. The curse that rang in his ears. The blood was picking up. And he hadn't even seen the damn creature yet.

Indeed, James' attention had spread far and wide. Being confined to one room for nearly two months had allowed him to practice his senses. When the air had stifled and cracked, James had a feeling that something was coming. The air had lost all taste, and the smell in the air was instantly fouled. Maybe he just had the misfortune of sitting in the path of the prevailing wind. There was something there.

Then a building exploded. Ok, first sign of trouble. Then, the sound of puppies screeching to death after a fatal dose of helium. Ok, second sign of trouble. At this point, Miseria would understand why he would choose not to talk. His alchemic arm gripped the table. Then it started raining ravens. Well, that was both offensive, and eerily poetic. Fine time to be a Ravenclaw.
Finally, the monster had turned to them. GREAT.

James remained sitting, his eyes scanning the surroundings for decent weapons. He reached into his pocket, retrieving not his wand, but his chalk. As the hulking monster stood towering over them, James flexed his alchemic arm as he listened to the monster's grating voice. He then smiled from his seat.
"A valid invitation if I ever heard one." He then threw his arm like his throwing frisbee. At nearly point blank range, James Wake took a metal table, and thrust it straight at the monster's gut. His alchemic arm looked none for the worse.
"But I must decline on ethical grounds."
