What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. The Rescue of Daniel Cethin Empty The Rescue of Daniel Cethin

Post by Brienne Ravenquist Mon Jul 12, 2010 3:34 pm

Brienne sat down and sighed. Where were they? These people that she hoped would be with her were going to help her with finding her friend. Her soft sigh resonated through the trees, so it wasn't so soft. Daniel had been taken by a couple of fierce monsters, she was determined to kill them herself, but needed help with navigation and such. These monsters were never before seen by living people besides their victims which never came back alive. Daniel would be an exception. With any hope.

She loaded up a Jeep-like vehicle with supplies to last for a month, navigational devices such as the good old compass, and finally a gun. In case her spells didn't work, she'd need to kill them somehow. The gun wasn't enchanted or anything; it was only a regular rifle with a powerful high caliber round, and this made the gun cumbersome especially when loaded. There was also a chance of recoil, so she'd have to stand far away from everyone else if she took a shot. Luckily, she only use it as a last resort. Otherwise, she'd be set without it.

She waited outside the woods near the trail for the others to arrive.

The Rescue of Daniel Cethin Empty Re: The Rescue of Daniel Cethin

Post by Miseria Lupin Mon Jul 12, 2010 4:03 pm

It didn't take long for Miseria to show herself. Not like Brianne, she didn't use a car to get over here. Nor did she came with the guns, and all other things. She had her wand, and that was the thing what mattered to her most. She didn't know what would she do with a piece of steal with her hands. Shoot bullets when she couldn't even aim correctly?
Today, as she had to enter the woods, she didn't put on the heavy chains, and also, instead of combat boots, she had her black sneakers, which were more comfortable than she even imagined. Her brown hair was made up in high ponytail (like always when she'll do something, and doesn't want to be interrupted with something little).

When she saw Brianne, not far away from her, she walked over there, smiling at the wolfling. “Good day,“ she said. Good day was actually a wrong word. She knew that she was worried about her friend who was in deep woods. But oh well... she couldn't say anything better at the moment anyways.
“Who else is coming?“ she asked, twirling her wand with her fingers. Yes, she was excited. They were going into the deep woods after all!

The Rescue of Daniel Cethin Empty Re: The Rescue of Daniel Cethin

Post by Jaquellene Jack Dyllan Mon Jul 12, 2010 4:37 pm

Jack apparated into the Forest of Dean and began walking forward, ears straining for any telltale sounds of human life. She finally heard a voice and she altered her path to head in the direction. On her back, a lightweight knapsack softly pressed against her shoulder, filled with things she thought she might need.

She had not needed to alter her attire much; black skinny jeans, a dark tee, comfortable shoes, and a black beanie worked well for such a mission as the one they were about to go on. Jack had met Daniel and Brienne at the Battle for Grimmauld Place and had come to Daniel's rescue when he was close to death. She was not going to let him die now when she had worked so hard to ensure that he lived through the battle.

Jack steeped quietly into a clearing and saw figures. Luckily she had her wand in her hand, but the figures turned out to be Brienne and Miseria. Jack strode over to them and nodded her hello, her short red hair brushing her face. It seemed that Brienne had prepared well... She glanced at them. "Hey."

Brienne smiled, "Hey guys. I think Eli Krum might be showing up, and maybe someone else. Again, I am not certain who's coming, but I am glad you guys did. I'm planning to track down and kill these monsters before they kill Daniel. Are you up for it?" She hoped Daniel was still alive, or at least not mortally wounded. She'd kick herself if she got there too late.

"Alright guys, I'm sure you know that this trip is way down into the middle of the forest, and as you know there are magical creatures which may try to kill us on the way. I'll make sure that doesn't happen, though." Brienne was scared, but she'd finally get to test out her new fire arm.

Rose had been held up packing her bag, she was off to help Brienne rescue her friend Daniel from whoever had him. Rose had told her parents and to her dismay they were not imporessed and had tried to stop her. Rose was having none of it and just walked out of the house and headed to where she was supposed to be meeting the others.

She was wearing a pair of skinny jeans, a white tshirt and a pair of black vans, comfortable clothing for a mission. She placed her wand in her front pocket as she jogged over to the girls. "Hey there girls. I'm ready for the mission" she said and began to go through her bag. She pulled out a handful of small devices. "Ear pieces, to make sure we can keep contact even if we are apart" she said.

Brienne took one earpiece and put it on.

"Thanks, Rose, that's pretty handy! Just in case any of us get separated or something."

She brought out her big gun to show everyone, "Now, I know what you're thinking. Why not use magic? I'll use it first, this is my last resort." The gun was pretty heavy, but the safety was turned on so no fear of accidental discharge. She put it back in the vehicle and jumped in.

"This is the vehicle we'll all travel in. The rocky terrain will make travel on foot difficult and dangerous. As does the risk of encountering magical creatures that could take us all before we even get a spell in. This not only acts as transport but a shield too. I'll expect it to get us there in no time at all. Just in case though, I packed supplies for a whole month."

Jack nodded, taking one of the earpieces and carefully slipped it into her ear, adjusting it to make it fit more comfortably. Jack nodded approvingly at Rose, the newest arrival. It had been good of her to think of that. That would really come in use of anything completely terrible were to happen.

Jack turned to Brienne and listened to her little speech, nodding to show that she understood. She walked over to the jeep and clambered up the back bumper, maneuvering around the supplies packed in the back. She stood and held onto the railings with her left arm slipped around the bar, her right hand gripping her wand. "I'm ready, Brienne."

"We need to wait for the others. If they don't come within the hour, we'll set off" Brienne said. She sat behind the wheel and turned on the radio for a while for entertainment. She came across a rock and roll station which she turned up a little bit.

"Hey, just because this is a serious trip, doesn't mean we can't have fun once in a while."

They were outside the forest, so the reception was clear as a bell. Of course, that'd probably change once they were in but they weren't in yet. She tapped her fingers against the wheel in tune with the music.

The Rescue of Daniel Cethin Empty Re: The Rescue of Daniel Cethin

Post by Daniel Joshua Cethin Tue Jul 13, 2010 7:53 am

Daniel woke up, everything was pitch black until the light came on.

"Wh-what? Where am I?"

He answered his own question when two big furry ape-like things turned toward him. His back hurt and something sharp pressed against his side. He looked down to see the skeletons of people that had been killed. A small distance away he saw a roasting pit. Still on the stick was a human torso picked halfway clean. An assortment of berries and fruit were placed near him, putting two and two together, he figured out that he was to be their meal and that he was going to be fattened first. How he'd get fat on fruit, he didn't know. He didn't even know what these things were, so he kept quiet and ate a couple of the berries. He was starving.

Rose smiled at the girls before nodding, showing that she understood Brienne. This was the first time that she had ever been away from her family on her own and she knew that her parents were angry with her for just leaving. She placed her earpiecce in and climbed into the back of the van with Jack and smiled to her. "Oh and Bri, you have here two of the best pranksters around, me and Jack are pretty nifty when it comes to pranks" she said and smiled at Jack again.

She grabbed her wand with her right hand and stood listening to the music for now.
