What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Jess vs. Sandra, Caelani, Jen and Thaor - Page 3 Empty Re: Jess vs. Sandra, Caelani, Jen and Thaor

The Death Eaters all seemed to favour dramatics and here Jen was, watching Thaor go completely overboard. She was going to roll her eyes but she didn’t think her aching body could even handle that. She ran a hand through her blood-matted hair and grimaced before wiping it on the sodden shirt that was just barely clinging to her thin frame. She closed her eyes for a few moments but snapped them open when she heard Jess say her name. She raised a wry eyebrow and both of her eyebrows shot to her hair line when he fired the killing curse in her direction.

The milliseconds that it took before Jen stepped swiftly out of the way were longer than she had ever spent contemplating death. The pros were that it would have put her out of her misery and she wouldn’t have to go day by day worrying about a handful of things that ultimately would be her undoing. The cons....well, there were none. She saw nothing to lose if she was to let the curse hit her but the streak of self-preservation made her bones move and forced her out of the way. The spell sailed past her and’ Jen exhaled shakily.

As a result, her lungs quickly filled with smoke and her eyes began to water. She wanted out. She couldn’t handle this anymore. She worked for herself for a reason – because she usually didn’t get this beaten up. She also didn’t usually arrive at a battle so...unarmed. She had the Minister to thank for that though and she had already been thinking about robbing the Ministry. She wanted her possessions back and Matt had them kicking about somewhere. Shaking her head, Jen muttered a few spells, flicking her wand and using whatever energy she had left. “Confundo, Incarcerous.” Before finally casting, non-verbally, “Crucio.”

Jess waved his wand, watching the feeble Death Eater closely. He blocked the first spell easily, but was caught on the unawares by the roaps. He was hit by them and flew back a metre or so, hitting the floor with a thud, as the ropes did their work. "Diffindo," he said, wandlessly cutting the ropes, and quickly rolling over, grabbing his wand quickly.

However then the crucio hit. He writhed in silent agony for a few seconds before the spell let up, giving him chance to breathe. "Jenifer," he said quietly, shakily rising to his feet. "That was a little uncalled for, don't you think?" he asked, smiling crazily, a tooth or two missing, and blood trickling out of his mouth from the fall. "Petrificus Totalas," he shouted, jumping to the left ot throw her off. "Expelliarmus," he shouted as well, hoping the abrupt movement would throw her off.

You can’t go home, Jenny, where’s your home? Where is it, hmmm? Is it that bare place that was stripped of everything bar Emof’s bomb that you used to blow up the sodding kitchen? Sounds about right doesn’t it?
Jen was fatigued to the point of collapse and her knuckles were going white from the way she gripped the doorframe. If someone were to nudge her then she was bound to keel over. Her mind was playing tricks on her and it seemed as if Potter was having his own fun. Jen blinked a few times to force her vision back into focus and her eyes widened when Petrificus Totalus came her way. She moved herself out into the corridor and behind the wall. She poked her head back around but the second spell forced the already broken wand out of her hands.

Jen watched as it sailed across the hall and hit the wall before falling to the floor. Reaching into her boot she produced a set of throwing knives. There were enough there to last her a while and were thankfully charmed not to be affected by magic too much. Jen took the silver hilt of one of them and threw it in Jess’s direction before taking another and doing the same. “Uncalled for.” She scoffed, surprised her voice sounded so strong. “You threw me into a wall and tried to kill me. I think I deserve that hit.”

Jess smiled and sidestepped, watching as the weak thows clattered to the floor before they reached him. "Now now, don't play nasty," he said with a chuckle, "I was merely pointing something out," he said waiting for her to appear from behind the wall again. "I'll take it this means dinner is off then?" He asked, referring to their previous conversation.
"Bombarda," he shouted, wand pointed at the wall to the right of the door, "Bombarda," he shouted again, this time to the left. "Avada Kedavra, Confringo!" He shouted, laughing

Pocketing the knives, Jen fiddled with her wrist with her other hand. She snapped the bone back into place and hissed in pain. She blew a piece of hair out of her eyes and felt the wall beside her explode. She felt the other side explode and clamped her eyes shut. She opened them again and poked her head around the bits of wall that were left only to see a flash of green light coming her way. Jen ducked back behind it and called her wand to her. The chipped piece of wood flew to her hand and she exhaled in relief. She wasn’t feeling up to this duel but she could hardly back down now. That would have been rude.

“I don’t think dinner is off.” Jen said, stepping out from behind her bit of wall. “You can pay, though. Muggle restaurant -- That way you can’t kill me there.” She winked and smiled before pausing. “Unless of cause you stab me with a steak knife or bludgeon me with the end of a bottle of wine. So many options.” Jen shrugged and flicked her wand a little in his direction, muttering “Sectumsempra.” She really wished he’d stop trying to kill her. Another date in fifteen years time would be fine but she had things do at this point.

Jess laughed, "Well then," he said smugly, "i'll have to change my style, shant i," he told her, referring to the earlier killing curse.

((People really undervalue this spell, using it as a simple cutting one... they don't seem to understand that it's not just a cut, but instead very dark magic, and that it has great damage on the recipient. Rant not aimed at you, but instead certain... others, that took part in this battle))
Sadly, he didn't see the spell coming, and it hit him right in the face, causing a gash to appear stretching diagonally from one corner of his face to the other. "Gosh," he said, feeling more gashes appearing around his body, "Gosh," he repeated, falling back with a thud. With a shaking hand he ran his wand along the wounds, sealing them as best he could, but alot of blood had already been lost. Lifting himself up Jess swore, and spat a mouthful of blood onto the floor. "Confundo, Crucio, Stupefy, Stingo," Jess shouted furiously, hoping to throw Jen off balance.

Jess vs. Sandra, Caelani, Jen and Thaor - Page 3 Empty Re: Jess vs. Sandra, Caelani, Jen and Thaor

Post by Hugo Weasley Sun Jul 11, 2010 10:16 pm

The regret Jen felt was instant – as soon as the spell left her lips. She’d been nigh on tortured with the damn thing, over and over again. She was lucky that she was still together and not in bits on the floor. It was probably only adrenaline keeping her conscious anyway. Jen closed her eyes and whispered an apology that probably went unheard. When she opened her eyes, the first spell hit. She was plunged back into a freezing cold pool of delirium and her vision seemed to ricochet around the room without a set path. She felt the Cruciatus Curse wrack her small frame and she collapsed, missing the stunning spell that was shot her way. The stinging spell, Jen didn’t avoid and that coupled with the Cruciatus forced her down.

After a few minutes she began to scream and the hastily closed wounds that had been improperly healed cracked open again. The curses that Bart had thrown at her hadn’t been extracted during her haste and Sectumsempra was now once again raging her body, cutting into her quicker than it had done before. Jen let out ragged sobs and gripped the side of her head as her body tried to fight all three curses at once. She couldn’t handle it mentally or physically and her magic was having a hard time fighting off the cuts that were making their way to her magical core. They’d hit her internal organs but her heart was semi-protected; by what she didn’t know. “Stop, Stop, Stop!” she screamed, her arms covering her blood-sodden hair. Her tears were coming thick and fast, muddling in with the crimson liquid on her face. “Please!

Clutching the bannister, Caelani made her unsteady way toward the room they had Jess cornered in as Jennifer's desperate plea rang through the house. She couldn't get inside; the older woman was hunched in the doorway, her body wracked with spasms from whatever spell Jess had hit her with. The cruciatus curse, most likely.

In her current state, there was very little Caelani could do. She doubted she had it in her to kill him outright, and she knew she wouldn't survive an extended fight.

"Imperio," she choked out the curse, knowing if she only had one chance, a microsecond's warning was a risk worth taking.

Jess watched the spells hit and felt a tremendous wave of guilt wash over him. It was fine and dandy to attack someone just after they hurt you, with everything you've got. However in the second later, the regret, eugh, the regret was tremendous. Watching the spells hit he flinched and rushed forward, seeing her convulsions, but another Death Eater entered the room before he reached her.

He took a step to the right, letting the spell pass with a wide birth. "Leave it," he said, looking at Caelani, "I'm beat, you know it, is that not enough for you people. Or does it have to be death?" he asked. "Help her, get her out of here, now!" Jess shouted, knowing that there were some people in the order who were much less forgiving than he was.

Caelani didn't lower her wand. Whoever Jess was used to fighting, they must be very trusting.

"Submission sometimes works," she said. "Give me your wand and I might find you more believable."

Leaning against the doorframe, she covered him with her wand hand and winced as she held the other out for his.

"You... don't think you're going to just walk away from this, do you? That's not how it works."
