Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Basic Level - Lesson 8 Empty Basic Level - Lesson 8

Post by James William Wilson Mon Apr 12, 2010 8:33 am

Today's class was a bit different. Since he could not work, with today's creatures, in class, he had to put a note on the door of his classroom so that the students can find him. He himself went outside and conjured a desk with papers, a replica of his own desk, in front of the lake. Today's class needed to be conducted outside. They were all lucky that it was sunny with a little wind, which meant that they could conduct the class without problems. He had already prepared everything for the class, which mean that he had to wait for them. He sat on his desk, conjured a few cushions so that the students wouldn't complain about ants in their robes and waited for the students to arrive.

She walked hurriedly to the classroom of Defence Against the Dark Arts. Ans saw the instructions her Professor had posted on the door. Elyssa waited for a few minutes for someone to arrive but no one came so she decided to go to the lake as instructed by her professor.

James walked to the class to find a note hanging on the door. Instantly, a list of possible subjects raced through the boy's mind as he considered what the class would be learning today. He was unfazed however. He simply turned the other way and walked back towards the grand staircase. As he left through the main entrance hall, James squinted. There was Professor Wilson. Brilliant. He walked towards that man and said "Good morning," while setting his bag on the grass.

Derek had walked into the classroom carrying his usual "enthusiasm" and mouth ready to ask questions about everything that confused him or with everything he didn't agree with. Professors sometimes didn't like being interogated by students, but after all he was in his full right. And the professor had to answer him even if it bugged him. "Good Morning Professor." he said taking his usual seat in the front as it was considered to be the best bugging positions for questions and disagreements with Professor or Professors.

Andrew saw the note about the class meeting outside at the lake. That excited Andrew--put him into his own element. He shoved all his items for class into his backpack, slung it onto his shoulder and raced as fast as his legs would carry him down to the Black Lake. It was an absolutely perfect day. The sun and the breeze were perfect. And there was nobody more in love with the outdoors than Andrew.

"Good morning, Professor!" he said happily, actually feeling cheerful today and a bit more outgoing Well, afterall, they were out of that dark, stuffy castle. How much better could things get? He chose a cushion, sat down, and took out his text, a pen, and a clipboard he'd borrowed from a housemate and clipped some paper to it. He looked at the next chapter in the book. Merpeople. Very interesting. He had never met any of those. He wondered. Were they technically people, or technically fish? People, he supposed, but he liked this class, and loved meeting the different creatures.

Basic Level - Lesson 8 Empty Re: Basic Level - Lesson 8

Post by Elijah Krum Wed Apr 14, 2010 10:02 pm

Classes were apparently mandatory and for someone who was meant to be enforcing rules he was making a pretty poor effort in all areas. Did he care? Not really no but Majere did...maybe. So Eli walked towards the Defence against Dark Arts classroom only to find the note on the door. He scowled before muttering some faint curses that would cause a few nuns to faint. He scowled and turned on his heel before stalking down the corridor, his new cloak billowing out behind him. It was only now that he actually seemed to respect his parents. His mother had finally cottoned on with the trend of sending care packages and she was definitely being useful. Wine, Firewhisky, Paint, Cigarettes.... you name it, it was there. Clearly his mother had gotten into the habit of making up for neglecting her only son. It was about bloody time too in his opinion.

Once Elijah was outside he fished his cigarettes out of his pocket. He was going to try and bait Wilson. He was going to see how frustrated he could get them an. So, with a flick of the magically enhanced lighter the stupid woman had thought to send him, the cigarette was lit and Eli began to walk down to the lake. He quickly cast Aqua Eructo, letting the cool water sooth the slight burn where the overactive flame had caught his fingers. He walked down by the lake and noted a few others as well as the professor. He picked a tree not too far from cushions. A first year had sat down on them and Eli rolled his eyes before flopping down in the shade of the tree. He took the cigarette from his mouth and breathed the smoke into the air above his head, thanking the English for going in search of new lands and coming back with tobacco. He wondered, would this be strike one? 1-0 to Eli?

The spiral staircase was a distance from the dungeon to the bridge of the castle. Hafiz knew he was late but he still need to go to the restroom and it will take quite of his time for the class. After finishing his business in the restroom and splash a bit of water on his face and neck, he rush with a thousand steps to his next class. As he arrived to the class, it had already started. He go straight to the professor and apolagies to him. Sry I am late professor as he gave him a warm smile and took his seat on his favourite spot.

Miseria was one hundred precents sure that this time she will definately late. Again. But as she reached the classroom, she saw the note and raised her eyebrows. It would be more lovely if Wilson would just let them hang out outside. Much better. But as she was more of the study type person, she didn't want even to complain in her head about such things. Education was requiered for her. However, she was still impressed by these news so she turned around and walked down the corridors when she finally saw students and professor Wilson outside.
“Good morning,“ she said quietly, quite reliefed that she wasn't late this time. Carefully, she put her bag on the grass.

Lily approached her classmates, her bag slung over one shoulder as she ran a hand through her red hair which in her haste between times of the day had fallen out of it's hairband. She sat down next to no one in particular as she pulled out her work supplies and shrugged slightly as she gazed around wondering where Lysander was.

Wilson raised his head and waved with his hand. Elijah's cigarette, as a par of his robe, went on fire. ''Krum, if you like fire, do play with it a little longer.'', he said, obviously surprising the student. (Sorry for godmodding, but it was in a way necessary. I will edit if needed, but I think you understand why I did it) ''Now, good day to the rest. I cannot believe that there are 8 of you. Now, since it is pretty obvious what today's topic is... can anyone tell me something about that topic?'', he asked.
