Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Elizabeth walked away from the Quidditch Pitch beside her elder brother with whom she’d been watching the Ravenclaw Quidditch team practice. He was telling her all about some new girl that he was interested in, blah, blah, blah. He’d been talking about this girl for nearly half an hour. Normally she enjoyed spending time with Andrew but he was getting on her nerves today. Quickly she excused herself before he walked into the castle, ducking down towards the familiar path that led down to the lake.

It was a pleasant day, though a little warm for the season in her opinion. There was a soft breeze which nipped at the tip of her nose. Burrowing her hands in her robe pockets she continued to walk down towards the lake, glancing around for familiar faces. Her gaze fell on a few, though no one whom she really felt like conversing with at that moment. After a walk around the lake and finding no one whom she deemed suitable company, she sat down right one the shore (or well, the edge?) of the lake. After taking off her socks and shoes, she dipped her toes into the frigid water. Bah! The water was freezing. That had been a horrible idea.

Melanie really hated Winter. She hated the cold, the snow, and the fact that you could not swim, which was something she had always liked to do at Hogwarts. Even Quidditch practices were on hold sometimes due to the cold or some storms. Today however, was warmer than usual, still cold, but Melanie wasn't complaining. Still, there was nothing to do. The Ravenclaws had booked the pitch, and the lake was still too cold to swim in. Winter also meant she couldn't really wear the clothes she liked, as it was too cold. She was wearing a brown casual, but expensive coat and tight jeans.

Bored, Melanie was just leaning against a tree, reading an article in the magazine 'Witch Weekly.' She didn't really read much, and she certainly didn't like to, but she had nothing else to do. She was avoiding her friends for now, as she had gotten into a fight with them. It had been a simple matter, but Melanie usually created drama over the smallest things.

Finishing the article, she looked around for someone to talk to. She quickly noticed her friend, Elizabeth sitting close to the water, not to far away from her. Melanie frowned, wondering how she hadn't noticed her there. Though Melanie didn't like Elizabeth much, they had a bit of rivalry going on, she was still fun to talk to, so Melanie quickly walked over. "Hey Libby! Whatcha doing?" she asked cheerfully.

As Elizabeth was beginning to put her shoes and socks back on, a voice came out of nowhere. Quickly she spun around towards the direction where the voice had come from. She soon found herself looking eye to eye with Melanie Rain. Flashing the girl a smile, Elizabeth turned back to her shoes and socks. "Hey Mel," she greeted, matching Melanie's cheerfulness. "I'm just burning time, nothing extraordinary," she replied, finally getting her feet back into the warmth of her shoes.

Elizabeth and Melanie had a very strange relationship, interesting but strange. The two girls had started off as friends but soon found themselves competing for just about everything. It was fun but all of the competition took a little bit of a damper on their friendship. Now they didn't really like or dislike each other but had fun hanging out and competing...if that made any sense. Brushing her shorter layers out of her face and tucking them behind her ear, she looked up at Melanie. "So, what brings you out here?"
