Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Hogwarts Classes Explained Empty Hogwarts Classes Explained

This year, Hogwarts is going to be changed up a little bit.

For those of you new to PA, this will be your first experience of classes, most likely.

Suffice to say, in the past it hasn't always gone well.

One of the many reasons is that the size of the threads has turned off many players as, really, it's too much to read and you do have a tendency of falling behind.

This year, the class enlistment is being stripped back into groups of four so that four students - in different houses preferably - and the teacher makes up five. This is hopefully going to be easier to manage.

Also, not all of the classes are going to be run at once. They'll be grouped and staggered with a mini-event that'll happen along with the class - in many cases, this will be a lecture from an outside speaker talking about Healing or Dragons or something interesting and different.

So, for example:

For month one, Transfiguration could run along with a special class with Elijah Krum, for example. He could talk about art and give a small class and the next month, Divination and DADA could be run - followed the following month with Charms and a lecture.

Do you see what I mean? Hopefully, this will help keep things fresh.

One class and one lecture per month or two classes!

Also, this year, there will be a lot of emphasis on teacher activity with the rather cut and dry approach of: you wanted the job - now show some willing.

Closed threads will be thrown out in Hogwarts and teachers will be expected to drift from each one and students are welcome to do the same.

Mainly, this year is very much about trying to right the wrongs that have worried us throughout the years prior to this one as the balk of activity comes from Hogwarts and when disinterest sparks, activity nose-dives.

As always, you are welcome to submit ideas. PM me whenever you like and I'll get to it ASAP.
