Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Wally had thought she had overstepped her bounds to care whether or not Vivianna actually took the drugs. And here the other girl was suddenly preaching to Wally, asking her to repent your sins and turn towards the way of goodness and decency! (AMEN.) The two girls were not close, had nothing to bond them into believing they had any sense of camaraderie. Why did they suddenly act as though they cared?

"I have no interest in offering the world anything," she said blandly. "I'm not making this stuff because it matters. I'm making it because it's fun to do and money is very nice." Her voice was dull and offered nothing. She did have to admit that she was impressed Vivianna knew the law. She shrugged. "I've never really thought to look into the laws. I just planned on never getting caught."

"Fair enough," Vivianna said with a sigh, "it's not like the world deserves it." The Slytherin wasn't exactly sure why she was being so open about her personal opinions to this Ravenclaw. If anyone had asked, the girl would had pegged it upon some sort of connection through potions talent. The teenager had never been a fan of lying to herself though, and was well aware that such wasn't the real answer.

When Wally admitted to not having knowledge of the laws that Vivianna could recite backwards in her sleep, the girl raised a brow. Such lack of foresight wasn't common among the house of blue and bronze. "Creation of unauthorized non-Ministry tested recreational alcohol or drugs is illegal, enough to get you fined. Unauthorized distribution of it, is enough to get you thrown in Azkaban for a month or two. Since you're not legal yet, you'd just get a Selling-Without-Permit fine," the redhead stated, words coming easily to the forefront of her mind. If she ever got caught, the older student would have more to worry about that a fine or two. The substances laws were fairly light in comparison to others, probably because so many people these days made their own mead.

Wally did not know why she was standing here with Vivianna Varnes discussing the ethics of her potionmaking. She had never intended to discuss the ethics of it ever, really. What point was there? There were bad things in the world - it was no skin off of her back if they chose to act upon such evils. Their decisions had no bearing upon her own morality - and who even cared for morality anymore?

Vivianna suddenly rattling off what sounded like the full law. Wally had never cared because she had become involved in the matter before she could fully look into it. She naturally knew there were consequences to be had, but she also didn't care. Wally was a bit passive when it came to such things. She simply could muster up the sensitivity to even care what could happen.

"Studying to be an Auror?" she asked dryly, beginning to tuck the coins away into her bag, carefully packing her things away.

Vivianna was unable to hold in her snort when the other girl made a quip about Aurors. If there was a profession that the girl was certain she wouldn't go into, that was it. Sure, she was decent enough at DADA, but she was better at the basic dark arts she'd played around with. The potions or stealth parts would hardly be a problem, but the girl was terrible at Transfiguration. But the worst part of the entire job, was that Aurors worked for the Ministry. Vivianna would never work for the Ministry. Not ever.

"Hardly," the Slytherin drawled in response, amusement seeping into her tone. While the witch never intended upon being caught, she thought that it was fairly important to know that laws that you broke on a daily basis. The laws she broke, and the ones that Wally did, were closely enough related that she'd read up on them too.

"Perhaps the Wizengamot, then," she said, putting her things finally away, sipping up the secret compartment in her bag, folding the special flap over the zipper. She was so glad she had paid that Hufflepuff to make her the bag - and sworn the girl to secrecy on the transaction. The bag was a life saver.

She pulled it onto her shoulders. She began to leave, pushing the door open, but she paused in the doorway and looked back at the girl. With a smirk, she said, "Really... Anything else is a complete waist of your talent, you know. Anything less is hardly the best thing that you could offer the world." With that, she left the room.
