Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Shopping day Empty Shopping day

Selene hoisted her bag farther up onto her shoulder. It was shopping day for Selene. Having started to make enough money.. though she was still living in The Leaky Cauldron. She had a few things that she needed. Things for work mostly, seeing as food she just bought from the pub downstairs, and she couldn't exactly buy a ton for she didn't have the room. She was still saving up to buy her own home. But she did have things to buy for work, potions ingredients for starters. The people she worked for apparently had to send their secretaries out at the last minute, through owl, to pick up some ingredients they wouldn't use until next week. Selene didn't mind to much, she wasn't exactly doing much besides work anyway, so why not let her work say when she did her shopping too anyway?

Selene walked into Slug and Jigger's apothecary and glanced around. Things were pretty expensive, but she knew she'd be repaid for whatever she bought today. So Selene walked into the store and calmly started to fill up a basket with the things she needed. Picking up jars, glancing in them, before she shook her head and set it down again, staring at the ingredients a moment, before she sighed and set it down. Selene ran her hand through her hair and glanced around the shop, filling up her basket as she went.

Diagon Alley had changed very little. Striding through the crowd, his tailored suit shifting with every little flinch his body made, he felt like a ghost of sorts, like the child he once was thundering across the cobbles with the wind in his hair and excitement written across his face. To his dismay he remembered little of those quainter times where wizards and witches had a reason to fear the unknown. Grindlewald was not the inspiration many thought him to be and the whispers of his name seemed to the young man almost unwarranted considering his actions.

It would have been far to bold of him to laugh in the face of the childish Muggleborn with frizzy hair and wide green eyes. It would have been foolish of him to scorn her with ‘Mudblood’. He knew better, surely. Still, he could not hide his distaste and, disgruntled, curled his lip upwards as he squeezed past the large behind of a woman draped in little of the finery he had quickly become reaccustomed to seeing. He’d forgotten the simplicity of Diagon Alley life and, if he cared to look, towards the dark end of the alley he could spy the sign post pointing to Knockturn Alley -- his home. Yet, Alistair was in no rush to visit his childhood home that had been abandoned so abruptly upon the death of his only father figure. Alistair wished not to relive the memories that were so raw, so open and so salted. His intentions had been made clear to himself upon his exit from Azkaban. He would take his revenge for both himself and Hyperion. Until then however, Alistair would have to play the games of Grindelwald’s naive.

Being weary of doing that was what had brought the twenty-four-year-old out of Scotland. Sick of running into his half-siblings at every turn, Alistair took solace in the fact that here, he could be left to his own devices without a wide-eyed witch or wizard who knew too much gawking at him as if he were something in a window. With his bag drooping around his waist and his hair puffed suitably from the way he’d been running his hands through it, Alistair was the picture of much lazy elegance. He’d left a few buttons of his crisp white shirt open and the very tip of one of the tattoos Azkaban had allowed him could be seen at an angle. The man ambled without any real purpose but he soon found one in the form of the Apothecary.

He had little blood of a vampire but that did little to cease the blood lust from manifesting in whatever form it saw fit. At first it did so with murderous intentions but post-Azkaban Alistair had been wanting something different. He’d been wanting to dip his head into the neck of the woman and taste the metallic in her veins. He had not written to his father, expressing his concerns. Instead he’d taken his thoughts to the Apothecary in Hogsmeade, only to find very little in the way of help. Now he entered the Diagon Alley shop with the hope of the aid he sought. He paid little attention to the girl browsing there and let the door slam shut before striding up to the counter.

“Let’s make this quick,” he barked gruffly at the man, his hands reaching into the pockets of his trousers as he glared at the man from underneath his eyelashes. “What do you know about vampires?”

Selene had just picked up a bottle of frog eyes when a man walked into the shop. Selene glanced at him, but paid him as much mind as he paid her. None, but when he got to the counter, and asked something about Vampires. Selene couldn't help but listen. She edged nearer the counter, surveying a barrel of pickled eels, checking the price tag and listening to the conversation.

Selene worked in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, She was used to reading the research articles that were written about Vampires. Often it was only the first couple of lines, but sometimes she sat down and read them. People in the Department were like scholars, researching, learning, finding out things. It's what they did, and people like Selene, who were secretaries, were left to handle a lot of the paperwork. But every so often, there was only a couple of things to organize, and she would take some time to read some of their research articles, articles that she placed alphabetically in journals that were published to other Research Agencies all over the world.

Selene had spent time in the owlery, sending notes to places in Egypt, and America, and Japan. Australia, Russia, Even Antartica a few times. The owlery in the Ministry was quite the amazing place. And immediately Selene was reminded of the time she had sent some extremely important Vampire research to a clinic in Australia.. it appeared they had been having some problems with them going on rampages down there, and the Ministry was sending a team down, but an owl was being sent first for a debriefing. Selene's eyes traveled over the man. He didn't LOOK like a Vampire.. but then again they rarely did... Selene realized she was staring and quickly looked down at the barrel again, scooping up some eels and putting it in a bag which she added to her basket.
