The Ghost in the Night...

Noah nodded. It wasn't the answer he would've given, but from someone as cynical as Angelique, it made sense.

And then her turn came.

Noah stared. She was not following the rules of the game. At all. No way.

"What is this, truth or dare?" Noah asked. "And here I thought I was dealing someone a little more mature." He stood and turned away, trying to look badass. He was very glad that the mask kept his face obscured, because he was pretty sure it was a bright scarlet. "But if you're going to insist on getting personal, I guess I can play along. I was..God, 12? It's kind of hard to remember," Noah said. "But my turn again. "How many of these 'junior death eaters' are there?"

She could just imagine his face, getting all hot and bothered under that hood. Whoever "The Wiccan" was, he might think she was being stupid, but Angelique's questions were about more than just getting personal. If he was so timid that he had to wear a face-concealing cloak all the time, the chances were high that he'd remember this moment whenever he saw her in the halls. There was more than one way to recognise a superhero.

"No, this is truth or truth. You made the rules," she said.

Angelique mentally counted up the people in their little army. There weren't that many to count, even when she did include the first year who'd turned up late.

"Four, not including me," she supplied. "Have you ever spied on your dorm mates while they were getting dressed?"

"Are you going to take this seriously or not?" Noah snapped as Angelique asked her second question. He was getting angry, and he knew it, but this was just...disrespectful to the rules of the game. At least he was getting some useful information out of this. Five Dark Followers weren't going to be easy, but at least there weren't a couple dozen of them - if he could find out who they were he'd be able to pick them off one by one.

But he had promised. A truth for a truth. And even though Angelique was being aggravating and stupid, he would play along. "Never successfully," he said after a moment. "Enchantments and protections and all that. I have better things to do with my time than finding a way around them." He paused for a moment. "Who runs the Dark Followers? Surely you have a leader."

And there it was, the first little crack. She'd hit a nerve with that one.

"Oh really?"

Angelique's eyes sparkled in delight, though whether it was noticeable down here she didn't know. That was probably a good thing, anyway.

"I'm taking it perfectly seriously. It's not my fault you don't think things through," she retorted. "I don't know who runs them. Julia Traverse would like to think she does, but I suspect she's just a puppet."

If Angelique could have rubbed her hands together in anticipation right now, she would have. Alas, the ropes constricted her movements far too much so she had to content herself with flexing and curling her fingers.

"So tell me, when was your first homoerotic experience, or have you not gone that far yet?" she said.

She was trying his patience.

Noah forced himself not to scream in frustration, but it was difficult. This was what he was dealing with? This was the Dark Followers. Maybe Angelique was right. Maybe they were all just deluded children.

But they were deluded children who could turn into dangerous adults. Noah had a rare opportunity here. No point in getting angry and ruining it. Besides, something Angeliue had said had piqued his interest.

"Never had one," Noah said, with a bit of disgust in his voice. "Does that disappoint you? Hoping for something to think about on those lonely nights?" He asked, his vice practically dripping sarcasm. "What a shame." He shut his eyes for a moment, trying to think of what time it was. He didn't have long before he needed to get back to the tower. But he had time for a few more questions. "You said the Traverse girl is a puppet, but to who? Someone else in the group? The Death Eaters themselves?"

By now, there were several things Angelique was certain of. She was speaking to a boy. He was homophobic, but probably because he had desires he didn't understand, which pegged him as one of the younger ones. Probably fourth year or under. And the next time he passed her in the halls when he wasn't concealed under that stupid hood, his face was going to go cherry-red.

To be perfectly honest, she could have stopped now, but that wasn't how Angelique rolled. However, she was stuck for a new question. She'd been rather relying on getting him angry by now. Or getting an answer she could use to her advantage. Oh well.

"You mean to tell me you've never had a wet dream about another guy?" she repeated. "That's just odd.

Anyhow, I don't know who Julia gets her instructions from. I'm just another minion, remember?"
