Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Lesson 3 - Basic Level Empty Lesson 3 - Basic Level

Post by Edgar Albert Doyle Sat Oct 09, 2010 1:00 pm

Bloody hell, he came here only to be the Headmaster, and to think that he had almost been denied that promise, and now he is limping to the Dungeons to teach Potions... all over again, to hormone raging brats who have absolutely no interest in these bottles filled with colorful liquids. Yes, he had been some sort of puppet Headmaster, but he did actually have far more authority than anyone thought, which made him a powerful nemesis to those who wanted to control him, but more on that later, right? He sat on top of his desk, starting to play with his cane, waiting for the brats to arrive.

Sam walked into the dungeon and took in what was happening. Well, that wasn't all that much, he was the first student to arrive, which wasn't a bad thing, but it wasn't particularly brilliant he was sure, the teacher'd probably come up with some jibe about him being too punctual, must be a teacher's pet, or have skipped teh last class or something. Oh well.

"Morning sir," he said, sitting at his usual spot and pulling out his stuff. Books, quill, ink, and whatnot.

Lesson 3 - Basic Level Empty Re: Lesson 3 - Basic Level

Andrew had stuffed into his backpack a handful of caffeine infused hard candies that he had managed to procure in a way that he figured that Robert would be so proud of, but, well, whatever. They tasted like espresso, and he had put one into his mouth out in the hallway before entering the classroom. Andrew had used his allowance buying a muggle MP3 player and in getting to the muggle library to download music onto it. That had meant getting creative about getting the candies until he got his next bit of allowance from Robert. He was, in his own way, pleased that he had not lost his touch with such things. The muggle clerks had not even seen him come into the shop, let alone all that he had left with. He was, silently, fairly pleased with himself. He was thinking, though, he might have to send her a few pounds to repay them. That thought did not please him. The day had been when he could waltz off with whatever he wanted and not think twice. Now somehow, he was starting to learn to eventually regret such things. He sometimes thought he liked himself better before he knew morals existed.

"Good morning, Headmaster," he said casually, going in and taking his seat. He wasn't really giving Doyle much thought this morning. Doyle really was, for Andrew, pretty much a classroom fixture today. Andrew was more preoccupied about running off to the owlery to post the note to Robert requesting more sickles. He had been completely honest about misspending his allowance onto the muggle device, and Robert rarely refused him. He had managed to not mention his light fingered visit to the muggle newsstand.

He took his seat quietly and got out the Potions textbook, his notebook, and his quick quotes quill and waited.

Post by Aurora Nye Sun Oct 10, 2010 4:58 pm

Aurora stubled in to the classroom just as she did every day during every class since she got her broken arm. Her books fell to the floor in front of her which made her a bit mad. "What the bloody hell" She said under her own breath. Why couldnt she get somewhere without dropping her books? This was a bad thing to her she was almost late to class all of the time now and she was also having complications with her broken arm. People might wonder if there is something wrong with her but she wouldnt answer them for reasons unknown to everyone but herself. She quickly picked up her books, nodded towards the professor and sat down at the back of the room in her usual spot.

Sam looked up as the... Ravenclaw, he thought, yes, Ravenclaw, the robes were Blue and Silver in places, she must be Raveclaw, anyway, he looked up as she gave him a greeting. Smiling at her he gave her a wave and nodded. "Good morning yourself," he told her, a toothy grin being let loose. "I don't believe we've met before," he said, with a nervous look on his face, he hoped he wasn't seeming like a creep. "I'm Samuel," he told her, "Samuel Grigori," he finished, "But you can call me Sam," he added, another small grin going her way.

He then looked to the front of the class and frowned a little, wondering when the professor was going to start soon or not, maybe he was dead up there or something....

"nice to meet you Sam," Cecilia Said, "I"m Cecilia Krum." after that Aurora and a Slythern boy walked in. she though this boy was about the age of a first or second year. he didn't matter much really. he looked like he would be one to slack off in all of his classes. she started to doodle in her book again drawing suckish looking flowers and little cottages with smoke comeing out of the cheminy sitting on the roof. she giggled at her drawings then looked up at the professor. "is he ever going to start class?" she wispred so only she and sam would hear.

''I shall be short and sweet. But, ain't I always? You have your books, you have all the ingredients. Today's lesson is the Befuddlement Draught , something I like to slip into people's drinks... again, or also? Practically, it can be potentially dangerous, but it is used as a prank, more than a threatening potion. Now, you have until the end of today's class to finish it. Now, start!'', he said.
