Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Longlost Sibling (Aleski, open) Empty Longlost Sibling (Aleski, open)

Vinny sat on a park bench, swinging her legs in the pond water. Her tiny little brother was back where they were staying, he had bothered Vinny so much she had baned him from coming with her. She wished that he was her twin. Maybe then he would be less troublesome. Or maybe more because he couldn't be banned from doing stuff she did. In any case, she wished for friends, but mostly not family, unless it was her parents. She had crazy cousins too.

((This is Finland, right?))

Ah Finland. The land of cottages and saunas. Home. They came here every summer to visit Alex's grandmother, the highlight of his year.

He loved this park, he came here all the time when he was little, but not so much now. He mostly stuck to the city areas or stayed in the house but today he felt like a change of scenery. Besides, it was too hot in his gran's flat anyway, he hated Finnish summers sometimes. Everyone was constantly complaining about the weather in Britain but he didn't mind it.

Feeling sluggish from the heat, he took off his jacket and tied it around his waste before sitting on a nearby bench. He was sure he recognised the girl sitting there, she probably lived round here. He muttered a quick Terve and went to reach into his pocket when he realised. She was in his year. Um...hi.

"Erm, hi." she said, turning back to the water after looking at him. But she kept sneaking glances. Finally she gave up. "Do I know you?" she asked. He looked familiar, and not just in one way...

Leski raised one eyebrow. He knew her all right, it was Virginia Vista.

Don't you go to Hogwarts? You're in my year. And my house, I think. You're that veela girl. What are you doing here? There was something about this that just didn't seem right, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

[[OOC; ARGH!! Mind is so confusing right now. So I don't get how they are related. Same dad, but hmmm, did our parents divorce or something and they didn't tell them?>>]

"Oh, just on vacation." she explained. She looked at him. He was in her year, but he was the one who had always seemed so familiar. Like she knew him already. Why?
"So, erm, you?" she asked. "What're you doing here?"

((IDK, Leski was adopted and doesn't know who his father is so yeah, same father probably works.))

Aleski gazed out at the ducks for a minute before answering. I have family here, I'm half-Finnish. Or probably full Finnish actually, since my father is most likely a Finn. I'm adopted.

Why am I telling you this? There was something about this girl that made him ponder over his past and his heritage, and he didn't know why. There was something about this that didn't seem right. They both just happened to be in the exact same place at the exact same time in a F*** foreign country. So why Finland? It's not exactly a top holiday destination, especially in Summer.

"Oh, well my dad's Finnish! What a coincidence." Vinny said. She turned to look at him. Something clicked. She knew who he reminded her of. Her dad. He looked quite like him.
"Wait just one moment, d'you notice something? We're both Ravenclaw's, we're both fifth year, you think you're dad is Finnish and I know mine is, and you look like him. Plus, we're both here. Ring a bell??" I looked at him, wide eyed. Could it be?

Yeah, maybe we're long lost siblings or something! Aleski laughed, and then stopped. They couldn't be, could they? This was a strange coincidence but a coincidence none the less, there were probably plenty of half-Finnish people at Hogwarts. Who visit Finland around the same area he was born. Who even look like him, just a tiny bit.

Bullshit. This is stupid, stop wasting my time. The thought that he might have siblings had never crossed his mind before, but it was always possible. His father could have easily been married when he met his mother. An affair with a drunken teenager. He probably doesn't even know he has a son. Your father, is he from Vantaa by any chance? Does he know someone called Jannike Virjonen? Not that he would remember, or even know her name.

"I- I think he is, but I've never heard of, what was her name?" she said. "He may though. Want to ask him?" Vinny asked, hopping up. Then she sat back down.
"Erm, sorry." she sad blushing.

Do I... do I want to ask him? With the prospect of maybe being able to meet his father suddenly shoved upon him, Aleski was suddenly terrified. This would change everything. Okay, if... if he's here. I mean, this is probably bullshit anyway. Coincidence. Jannike Virjonen is the name of my birth mother but I doubt he'd remember her...

He ran his hand through his hair and breathed out slowly.
