Their Last Meeting (Chase)

Sterling had escaped from the battle... escape from Nerezza. He fully intended to go and plunge back into the battle... but he needed a little time to sit and think... heal himself. Gather his emotions, gather his strength.

Nerezza... on top of him He hadn't been able to restrain himself. Chase... running away from him, seeing him for something Sterling was now trying to convince himself he was't. Catalina... saving him in the nick of time only for him to run away out to the grounds...

Chase sat sobbing against a rock on the grounds. Who was she kidding, the Death Eaters were going to kill them all. She just hoped that she wouldn't die. Sterling had kissed Nerezza, and had probably done that before. Seeing as she was on top of him! Nerezza had almost killed her, and Chase still had aftershocks of that meeting. She stood up quickly and looked around. No one. Good. She turned around and ran up the grounds hoping she could just run it off. Except when she had an aftershock of all the pain of today. She fell to the ground sobbing. It was just terrible. Sterling..she hadn't seen Jesse anywhere. She was about to kill herself. Pain was shooting through her limbs and she couldn't even feel it now.

Sterling heard sobbing and screaming. Interrupted from his thoughts he ran straight toward the noise. He found it and descended on... Chase. How did this always happen? Last time she had had an aftershock like this, he had tried to hold her and talk her through it... that ended disasterously. So he just sat, staring at her... waiting for it to end.

Chase sat sobbing for a bit longer until she sat up and wiped her eyes. She didn't even know Sterling was there. She turned and yelled out falling back away from him. "Sterling."She whispered staring at him. "What do you want?"She asked her voice hard and cold.

Sterling was startled and almost physically affronted by her attitude. "I was just sitting, thinking and I heard a girl yelling so I went to go help..." he started. Why was she so mad at him? He had been so distracted when she had been yelling at him he didn't even remember why it was.

Chase stared at him and without thinking she smacked him across the face. "I know you say you love me."She said her eyes daggers. "You say it every time we meet, and yet you start to MAKE OUT with the girl who almost KILLED ME! What kind of sicko are you?"She asked fresh tears falling down her cheeks. "And you knew! You knew, and you're even with Catalina!"She said staring at him. "I don't get it."She said sobbing now barely able to hold it back. "You say it over and over, and it tears me apart to know that I love Jesse..and you make me feel so bad over you! And yet you're making out with the girl who tortured me, shows me how much you love me!"She said turning away from him.

The slap stung. It hurt a lot more than it should have. He felt like his cheek was going to fall off. "Chase... Chase I didn't want to do that! She trapped me there! I'm trying to move on from you... and I like Catalina a lot... but I really do still love you!" he said through sobs. How could she assume that of him?? He had been desperately trying to escape... unlike Chase did...

"Oh yeah, says the girl who said she loved me and then runs off with some random guy while he's in a coma! But God forbid the poor dumped guy kiss anybody else after she has completely renounced her love for him!" Sterling said, temper boiling within him.

Chase stared at him tears falling down her face. "Sterling."She said watching his cheek get red from her slap. "Oh yeah, of course the noises you made, kissing her BACK!"She said staring at him. "Well excuse me."She said feeling her face go red. "At least I TOLD you when you woke up! I didn't tell you I love you still and keep going on with Jesse!"She said staring at him. "I TOLD you that I was sorry, but you sit here, and you tell me you love me, you make me feel so bad, and then you go off and.."She ran out of words and felt her hands clench into fists.

"Chase, I do love you! But I can't go obsessing over you all my life! I have to move on! And plus... you know I hate Rezza... but you can't look at me in the eyes and tell me she doesn't have Veela in her!" Sterling said, desperate for Chase to understand. He started crying. "Don't do this to me Chase..."

"Move on..to the girl who tortured me?"She asked feeling her hand unclench. She felt her shoulders sag, her wand fell out of her hand. "We're going to die Sterling."She whispered tears dripping onto her lap. "I don't understand it Sterling.."She whispered. She took out her rock and rubbed it with her finger. "If we die.."She said slowly not looking at him. "Keep this with you...I want to see..."She said and then let a sob shake her body. "I'm sorry."She whispered. She had almost given up. She didn't want to fight anymore. "I don't..I think I'm giving up."She whispered tears falling down her face.
