What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Headmaster Ogden Is Not Here at the Moment (Again) Empty Headmaster Ogden Is Not Here at the Moment (Again)

''Honestly, James, it sometime seems you're running the whole school yourself'', Wilson spoke to himself upon reading another note from Headmaster Ogden regarding his short, but quite significant absence. Short? They were never short. Significant? Perhaps for him, but the school never benefited from his absences. These usually meant more unnecessary labour for Wilson, and most of that labour was - administration.

Wilson had nothing against working from a desk, but he detested bureaucracy. If it hadn't been for his true fear, he always believed his Boggart would turn into a stack of papers that needed reviewing and signing. Ogden did little to nothing of those tasks and it was always Wilson who had to fill out the paper work. That is why he never wanted to be a school administrator, that is why he had declined such posts in the past, before his... trip. Before everything. Now, on the other hand, he accepted this post in order to be close to what he called home, as Hogwarts was that for him. It had been his home since childhood, but more so after all the recent misfortunes that had struck the whole wizarding community.

While reading some of the staff notes - mostly irrelevant stuff and requests for different merchandise - he found several slips related to the case of a certain Jack Dyllan. He remembered the name; it had been mentioned during several staff meetings and not in a positive context. The final slip, signed by Ogden himself, revealed she was due for a meeting with the Headmaster today at four, which was just ten minutes away, according to Wilson's watch. Of course, Headmaster Ogden was not here at the moment (yet again!) so the task of disciplining the pupil (or whatever Ogden had in mind) befell, once more, Wilson. And likewise of course, Ogden never mentioned a word of it. It was mere chance that Wilson had seen the slip in time and was, thus, prepared for the meeting. He rearranged the papers on his desk and sighed. ''Soon enough, hopefully'', he said to himself in a tone that revealed exhaustion and then went to prepare himself a cup of tea as he waited for the student to arrive.

Well, well, well...

That didn't take long at all, now did it?

A month in and a meeting with the Headmaster had been arranged. She supposed no one had minded when she and Matt fought in dueling club - a few brawls were to be expected in a club dedicated to fighting each other. And the scuffle between her and Malfoy hadn't been much, she had barely landed a blow. And that was well deserved in her opinion. And maybe someone had noticed she was sending Bludgers out at incredible speeds. Maybe the new guy on the team reported how intense his try out had been, but she suspected that wasn't the case, considering he was now on the team.

No, it might have had something to do with that last fight.

Hogsmeade weekend. She ran into Ducky Baker, who she had always liked - everyone liked Ducky, it was probably impossible to dislike the lovable goof. His friend, on the other hand... A crossfaded dropout, neither of which bothered Jack... but paired with a catcall. She laughed, approached, told him to eat his words before she fed him his own genitalia. He made a nasty joke back and wands were drawn.

What magic are you gonna do? I may be a drop out low life... at least my magic is actually mine, right from my parents-

That's when she saw red and punched him in the mouth. Ducky tried to pull her off, but Bev was hitting back. That's how Jack ended up hitting that fourth year. Once she and Bev had been separated and she had been carted back towards the castle, she had apologized to the kid. He had taken the punch well, probably had it in him to join a House Team. For some reason, he didn't take her up on her offer to give him some Quidditch lessons.

She was probably losing her next Hogsmeade trip. Which would be rough. But if it meant getting away with decking the grin off of Bev's face, she'd take it.

She knocked on the staff offices door and was met by Teddy Lupin. "I think the Headmaster is out. Professor Wilson is in his office, though."

Jack strolled towards the door and opened it, looking back at Lupin, who was watching her intently, as though she could get in trouble in the three feet between him and the door. "Nothing gets by you," she said, saluting to him before knocking on the door.

Headmaster Ogden Is Not Here at the Moment (Again) Empty Re: Headmaster Ogden Is Not Here at the Moment (Again)

Just as he took a sip of his tea, Wilson heard voices from the staff room. It was professor Lupin and what seemed to be Jack Dyllan. He could not exactly comprehend what they were talking about, but he was certain he would be hearing a knock on his door in no time at all. He walked, slowly, back to his desk and sat down, taking another sip of the tea.

As far as he understood from the glance at her file, Jack Dyllan was a seventh year from Gryffindor. Based on her age and his history, he had to have been her Head of House and teacher, during the whole chaos and just before him departing the school. Those events still haunted him. He was better now, but the horror of another war haunted his usually calm mind even now. He wondered why he had forgotten her, because he was usually good with his pupils' names, but soon deduced that he had forgotten a lot of his former pupils. It was, he was certain, an aftershock of those events. He tried to erase them from his memory, not literally, but he tried no to think about them and it was probably while repressing those memories that he had also repressed some others.

The door jerked him back to reality, as he had to react. He took a moment to compose and when opened and closed the door with his hand. A red-headed girl, quite mischievous in visage, entered his office and a sudden burst of memories came rushing back. He knew her. She was a little girl back then, his pupil, but he bloody remembered her. She was alive and well. That was a comfort for him. ''It's been a while, Miss Dyllan, please, take a seat. I seem to... did you do something to your hair?'', he inquired quite informally, but he had to feed his curiosity. ''Can I offer you something to drink? Tea, perhaps?'', he gestured to his cup.

''As you already know, Headmaster Ogden is not present, so you're, whether you want it or not, stuck with me. I have read your file and it seems that several people, both staff members and students, complained about your recent behaviour. But, what interests me, for starters, is why do you think you have been sent here?'', he asked, leaning back into his chair, and connecting the tips of his long, pale fingers.

Jack stepped into the classroom and headed for the seat, flopping into it and sinking comfortably into it, projecting an air of nonchalance and laziness that came easily for her. If it wasn't Quidditch, or putting an asshole in their place, chances were Jack wasn't very interested.

By now, the black hair dye was beginning to fade from her red. The whispers and interest in her sudden change of color were relaxing as she continued to brush off any and all questions about her new 'do. If the attention was the reason she had done it, she would have redyed, but for now... it had served its purpose.

"Did you do something with your glasses?" she asked, carefully matching his tone in its polite inquiry. He asked her if she wanted anything to drink and she kept her face straight as she said, "Whiskey if you have it. Neat on rocks is great."

What a laugh.

"Why do you think you have been sent here?''

She tilted her head. "I dunno. Probably because of all the complaints."

Keep 'em guessing.
