Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. The Streets of Bordeaux Empty The Streets of Bordeaux

Post by Jemma Tiquelle Thu Jul 02, 2009 3:53 pm

[[OOC: City in the South of France. Open to anyone, but it's unrealistic if a 14 year old is alone in France, so at least MENTION their parents, NPC them around, say they're back at the hotel, whatever. Mkay?]]

Jemma was wondering around the streets. She was trying to find a present for her daughter. She was going to visit her in a few days and wanted to buy her something. She had just been paid so had plenty of money to spend, she just didn't know what to buy. Jewellery, maybe? It saddened her to think that she didn't know her daughter so well, now she was grown up, engaged and lived so far away from herself.

Spotting a coffee shop across the street, she decided to go in and take a short break from shopping. She was getting a little hot, France was so much warmer than Britain. "Je voudrais un café au lait et cette biscuit de chocolate, si'l vous plait." ("I would like a café latté (coffe with milk) and this chocolate biscuit, please.") Jemma ordered. She handed over some muggle money and took the tray of food and drink over to a table. She sat down and gazed out the window. She missed France.

Gabrielle was taking her nephews for a filtrip. They intended to go on south coast of France with a muggle car,but when they started complaing about how hungry and tired they were she decided to pass the night at the little motel in some small village she didn't even know. She detained near the small cafe in the middle of nowhere. Her nephews and neices sat at one of the bigger tables since they were numerous. "Neuf coca-lights singuplais." she ordered for her 8 nephews/neices and herself.

[[OOC: Did you mean 'si'l vous plait' not 'singuplais'. I'm trying to figure out what 'singuplais' is, lol xD. Also, want to start a topic in South Africa?]]

Jemma was daydreaming, a bit oblivious to the world. She didn't really notice much going on around her, she was off in her own little world. Just thinking. Not about anything in particular. Just, thinking.

A bunch of noisy kids awoke her from this daydream. Jemma looked up to see a whole group of them. She had no idea how many there were. She liked kids, though they could be a bit of a handful sometimes. She looked at the woman in charge. Jemma wondered how she managed so many of them. She thought she recognised the woman, though she couldn't tell as her back was towards her. Jemma went back to looking out of the window, not wanting to seem like she was being rude in staring at them.

[[Yeah sorry i am not that good at writing it.]]

Gabrielle's nephews and neices were making a lot of noise. They took certain time to sit on the chairs. "Come on will you eight sit already?" she said on loud as waiter went to bring her order. "Come on Victorie over here!" she said in a hard mission of making them all sit. "No no Dominique over here!" she said showing him empty chair. She felt rather embarassed on the noise her nephews and neices were making so she watched around to see if anyone was going to say something,She saw a familiar face in the corner. It looked like Jemma.

She scrubbed her eyes hardly doubting Jemma is there.Maybe she was just having visions that weren;t real. But whether it was Jemma or her twin sister. "No no Jemma doesn't have a twin sister." she said shaking her head as she concluded it WAS actually Jemma. "Hey Jemma what are you doing in......" she stopped didn;t know what to add. "In Whatever town this is?" she finished the question.

Jemma tried to ignore the children's noise. She had come here for peace, after all. Still, it didn't seem to be possible. She couldn't leave, she was still eating and drinking. Plus, she still couldn't think of anything to buy her daughter. She would just have to stay there.

Then she heard someone speaking to her. Jemma turned around to see Gabrielle. "Hi Gabrielle! It's Bordeaux, here. My daughter lives here, so I'm visiting her." she explained before returning the question. "What are you doing here?" she asked, looking at the children surrounding her.

Waiter finally brought 9 drinks she ordered for her nephews and neices. "Here you go.: she said placing drinks in front of her nephews and neices while she was still on her feet. "Oh yeah what a coincidence i stopped right here." she said listening to her very loud nephews. "Oh yeah by the way these are my nephews Louis,Fred.Hugo and my neices Dominique,Victoire and so on you don't wish to know all of their names." she said showing her 8 kids around that were too busy drinking to hear everything. "I was taking them for a picnic on south coast of France.Sorry about the noise." she said taking her own drink to come and join Jemma.

"I think i'll sit over here." she said sitting in relief.Taking the kids for a long trip was a thing that required much energy. "Anyway Jemzy how are you passing your time?" she asked as she sat on the chair in front of Jemma.

Jemma nodded, knowing she would forget the names. She knew some of them from Hogwarts, but she only knew most of her students on a last-name basis. "A picnic, wow. You're brave taking eight kids alone. I could never do that." she replied, avoiding commenting on the noise. She couldn't lie to save her life, let alone to a close friend.

"I was trying to buy a present for my daughter. I'm going to visit her tonight. I just have no idea what to buy her!" Jemma told Gabrielle, slightly frustrated. "Any ideas?" she asked, hoping her friend might have an idea.

Gabrielle was observing with one eyes her nephews and neices to asure they were doing good so no one would skip her. "Well plan was originally to go with Fleur, but she decided to stay at home with Bill so i had to somehow put all eight of them in my jeep." she commented randomly to Jemma. "A present huh?Well i know i bought for my sister few perfumes and some magic house helping books if that serves you for anything." she said not really knowing if that was the answer Jemma was looking for.

Jemma nodded. So Gabrielle hadn't planned to come as the only adult, it had just ended up that way. Still, it was a hard job. Jemma couldn't figure out how she managed. Maybe the kids weren't so bad after all. "Oh, ok then." she simply said.

Perfume! Why hadn't she thought of that? "Perfume! That would work! I'm never good at gift ideas. Thanks." she replied, happy. She now had an idea of what to get. She even remembered her daughters favourites. Versace and Tommy Hilfiger. She would just go over to the perfume shop. She knew the perfect place.

Jemma looked towards the kids. They all seemed to be getting along fine. Gabrielle didn't seem to have it too badly. "How long are you in France for?" she asked, wondering if she would get a chance to see Gabrielle again.

Gabrielle looked over at her nephews and neices nervously with one eye. They knew to get difficult sometimes though she hoped this time will be exception. "Be lucky for no having nephews and neices in this number." she commented randomly to Jemma though she used advisive tone.

Gabrielle was surprised that perfume idea worked out so good though she had no time to comment anything else when Jemma asked her new question. "Well i don't like to plan anything though it's going to be just a couple of weeks.I have other trips less efforting in mind." she said gesturing to South Africa. "And you how long you plan on staying?" she finally asked what she was intrested in. "And you didn't give me your adress yet." she added quickly. "I have to send you a plane ticket in a letter." she added quickly.
