Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Looking glum, Ethel sat at the Gryffinflaw table. It was a conspiracy. The Death Eaters had taken over the school, so it was only natural that they'd want to fiddle with the sorting ceremony and put innocent children like her in the wrong house to... She wasn't exactly sure why they did it yet, but when she figured it out...

She wouldn't do anything. Because no matter what house she was in, she didn't have a death wish.

Ethel sighed and looked up at the house point glasses. All of them except Gryffindor's had big piles of jewels in the bottom, because that girl, Aurora sombody, had gone and got heaps of points taken off in every single class she'd had this week.

That was it! They'd tampered with the hat so all the stupid kids got sorted into Gryffindor.

No, wait, Ethel was in Gryffindor. That couldn't be it.

Jack clambered down the Great Staircase and headed into the Great Hall, her stomach rumbling its displeasure at having been kept waiting. She grumbled to herself as delicious smells wafted towards her, beckoning her with savory promises of juicy meat, sweet fruits, tasty grains...

She was torturing herself.

She walked into the Great Hall and veered towards the Gryffindor table, her feet leading her to the closest empty seat with access to heaps of food and that was not surrounded by imbeciles of all kinds. Jack was just really not in the mood for stupid people; then again, when was she she ever?

She collapsed in a chair across from a small first year girl and immediately piled food onto her plate. She tucked in, though she ate more slowly than she used to before. She had no hurry to leave the place. It was not like she had anyone to go meet. Swallowing a mouthful of biscuit she happened to look up and remember the first year. She jerked her head in greeting. "Hey, newbie. How are you liking Hogwarts?"

Ezra padded down to the Great Hall like a cat on the prowl. He didn't want to be noticed right now, as he was a total mess. He was always a mess, but this time he was more so than usual. He crept over to the Gryffindor table, and scanned the nigh-empty row. There was a couple of girls sitting and probably about to make conversation. This was the perfect place to sit. Those women of Gryffindor would probably be too wrapped up in conversation to bother him.

He filled his plate with food and his goblet with drink, his plate was piled with a sizable amount of goodies. He ate slowly and sensibly, sometimes taking a sip from his cup. He saw a Slytherin third-year boy walking to the Slytherin table. He pointed his wand at the boy, hiding it carefully in his robes. He saw this kid torturing a rat until it died. He uttered a jinx which ripped the kids pants, then out his wand away.

"Omigod it sucks so much!"

Ethel didn't see any reason to keep her thoughts to herself.

"The lessons are boring and the professors are horrible and there's this one girl who baits them in every single class."

She pointed up at the house point glasses.

"See how we have no points? That's all because of one person. The professors all think Gryffindors are stupid, and after seeing the way that Aurora girl acts, I don't blame them. I wish I was in Hufflepuff. Everyone else in my family was in Hufflepuff."

Aware that the older girl probably liked being a Gryffindor, Ethel quickly lowered her eyes and pushed her food around her plate a bit.

"And the only friend I have is in Hufflepuff, so it would be better..." she added as an explanation.

Luna-Lorrie sat down at the Hufflepuff table to eat, but only put a little bit of food on her plate. She didn't feel very good, mainly because she ate a ton of candy in the Hufflepuff common room this morning. She never felt good in the mornings anyway, but this had been carrying on for a while. She still felt sick, even though a ton of time passed since she ate that candy.

She nibbled at a bit of her food, a chicken leg, barely taking a little bit off. She stirred the mashed potatoes on her plate with the chicken leg,

Jack could not help but let her grimace crack into a smirk when the girl began to complain, beginning to chuckle as she went into further detail. Jack was definitely sympathetic to the girl's ails. Jack had started each class getting into trouble with her professors, had then been forced to suffer through hours of boredom, and she had to deal with irritating kiss ups and know it alls. There's a difference between intelligence and pompousness. "Ah, you get used to it. It's like bad itch that won;t go away. After awhile, you know it's there, but you're kind of numb to it."

Jack barked a laugh when Ethel said Aurora's name. She knew the girl, and while they weren't not friendly, Jack did not eagerly seek out her company purposely, for the same reasons Ethel seemed to be irritated by. "I know who you're talking about, and trust me, I feel your pain." She chuckled again and then said, "You'll make friends, they all do."

Then again, she was not the best example of this, seeing as all her friends were either graduated or hated her. She glanced over and saw the boy next to her mutter something. She followed his gaze and saw the pants rip on some Slytherin boy. Jack was all for pranking, but the stuff she did was not bullying. She knit her eyebrows together and said irritably, in a threatening tone, "And what's your major malfunction?"

Ezra looked over at Jack, "Huh? Oh...he tortured a rat out back near the CoMC place. It ended up dying because of the boy torturing it, I absolutely hate when people like that torture the poor animals of the world. Especially when the animal is defenseless. I saw that poor rat squirm in pain as the guy ripped it open. I'm surprised someone didn't see him and report him". He sighed and went back to eating his food.

Luna scooped up some potato with a chicken leg and took a bite, it tasted great together but was missing something. It was missing some pepper. She grabbed the pepper with the Accio charm and sprinkled it on her food.
