Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. The trial of Kingsley Shacklebolt Empty The trial of Kingsley Shacklebolt

Post by Vincent Majere Tue Dec 29, 2009 3:51 pm

[This is reserved for Kingsley Shacklebolt and the members of the wizengamot who include:

Me, the substitute Chief Warlock while Miss Granger is away.
Gabrielle Delacour, the Minister of Magic usually attends the meetings, and as he's away, she is taking his place.
Khaat Lupin
Narcissa Malfoy
Cho Chang

Let us begin.]

Vincent entered the biggest courtroom, for one of the most important trials they had had for a while. He was holding papers which contained false reports of what Shacklebolt had committed. He would try to talk the others into believing them. They weren't especially smart after all.

Narcissa wandered into the courtroom being used for Shacklebot's trial. She wasn't entirely up to speed with the situation but she'd do her part and try and keep the fool out of Azkaban. She could have cared less but apparently it mattered. Narcissa settled herself down in her seat and cast her eyes around the courtroom. It was big enough to say the least.

Khaat came at the ministry's request. She was fully prepared that this would be another kangaroo court, just as Neo's had been. She had been willing to die for Shacklebolt, but she wasn't sure she was in the mood for another duel. And she had no patience for Majere at all. His acting as Chief Warlock in Hermoine's absence was just another show of his already overinflated ego, as far as she was concerned. And having to try to help Shacklebolt in a court of law? This was a sad day indeed.

She walked into the courtroom, gave a silent nod to Majere and the others, more out of the formal niceties required between wizards here than out of any desire to do so, and she took her seat beside Narcissa, completely stonefaced today.

The doors opened again and Cho stepped in, holding her head high. Yes, she knew by herself that she was beautiful and she loved to show that to other people. She held her notes in her right hand with want what she was always carrying with her. And with smile on her face, she looked at Vincent Majere:“Good day, mr. Majere,“ she said in a silky voice and sat down next to the Narsicca Malfoy. “Lupin, Malfoy,“ she nodded to both of them as a greeting. Then sliping her leg above the other, she wondered when will the others show up.

"Welcome Narcissa and Lupin," Vincent said smoothly. "I am sure that I know your thoughts of me acting as chief warlock for this particular trial. Clearly, you do not trust me one bit, and not without reason. However, I must tell you that whatever you think of me, I will try to keep this trial fair. Like the one of Emof," Vincent said, casting his eyes over the two. He then went and sat at the highest seat, putting his papers in front of him. He waited for Gabrielle, Chang and Shacklebolt. Soon Change showed up, looking just as brainless as usual. Vincent sighed, hoping Shacklebolt would just hurry up.

Kingsley stepped inside the courtroom, wearing blackrobes and an angry frown. He shuffled over to the chair in the middle of the room, acting old and weary. He sat down and looked up at the members of the Wizengamot.

'Well,' Khaat thought, 'that tells me already how this is going to go. There wasn't a bigger farce in wizardom than the Emof trial. ' Khaat's mind was already starting to think into the future. If Shacklebolt was convicted, Hogwarts was as good as dead. They might as well put out a sign that said "Death Eater University" in front of the place. Make Voldemort head of the ministry and just be done with it all. She hoped wherever Remus was, he wasn't watching this travesty her world was turning out to be. She fingered her necklace, just wanting to feel a little closer to him, and doing her best to keep completely emotionless.

"It certainly sets a great tone for the wizarding world, doesn't it? Lets all send children to a prison. I'm sure it'll be a fabulous vacation for them." Narcissa said with a smirk. "This trial will be fair and not your definition of fair, Majere. Our definition."

Khaat looked over at Narcissa and smiled at her, trying hard not to laugh. She really liked this woman's spirit. The more she knew her, the more she liked her. "Thank you," she said to her quietly. She knew she wasn't allowed to laugh out loud in her, but she definately wanted to. It had been a great verbal shot, and it had broken the tough stonefaced exterior she'd spent all morning trying to reinforce.

"Actually, you have a point. Emof's trial wasn't exactly fair," Vincent replied. How stupid could a person get really? Vincent was really beginning to lose any remaining respect for Shacklebolt, why did he give such people jobs at the campus? "If it had been fair, then Emof would have gone to Azkaban for a longer period of time. As it was, he received a smaller punishment then most people would have been given due to his age. Miss Granger ended the trial in you and Shacklebolt's favor, and now your whining about it?" He turned away from Lupin as Shacklebolt entered, looking as rough and senile as ever. "Well now, let the trial begin. You are all gathered here for the trial of Kingsley Shacklebolt, who has been accused of various crimes which should receive a life penalty in Azkaban if he has no excuse for his crimes." Vincent coughed here slightly, then continued. "Firstly, Shacklebolt has been accused by various members of the ministry for corruption during his rule as Minister of Magic, including stealing vast amounts of money from our treasury at Gringotts. He fired anyone who opposed his rule. Furthermore, he is accused of using students during the Battle of Hogwarts. Most recently, after being fired from his position of Hogwarts Headmaster, he attacked two aurors who came to inform him of his trial. Now Shacklebolt, do you deny any of these crimes?" Vincent asked, looking straight down at him.
