Small Miracles [Open] Empty Small Miracles [Open]

Post by Yvette Tungsten-Wells Fri Jan 09, 2015 6:30 pm

Yvette smiled when she got off work, she walked along a different path as she made her way home. She worked second shift at the Leaky and got off late so she made sure that she didn't set up a pattern for someone to follow. She was wearing her usual dark blue jeans and paired it with a soft pink top, her jacket was leather and slightly worn. She wore snow boots on her feet because she still had to find her tennis shoes in the miles of boxes still unpacked in her house. The path she was taking would get right next to her apartment building that was on the corner of her street.

Almost half way home is when she started hearing meowing she began looking around her. Upon turning to look behind her there was a tiny little kitten struggling to get out of the snow it fell it. Walking over to it she picked it up feeling the shivers running through it's tiny body. "Aww, you poor little thing. Come on I'm gonna take you home and get you warm. Then I'm gonna put up some flyers to see if your missing from someone's home." Yvette told the kitten as she tucked it into her jacket close to her side to make sure that no cold air got to it. Turning back around she began walking again towards her home feeling the kitten's shivers start to lessen as she smiled softly.

Small Miracles [Open] Empty Re: Small Miracles [Open]

Usually, there's nothing that would make Louis Weasley exit his apartment on his free day but he couldn't be trapped in four walls anymore. He exited when he started to feel a little claustrophobic, imagining walls coming closer and closer, until they don't merge crushing him between them. Although that happen only in his head, he still was not comfortable thinking about that, so he pulled his shoes and his jacket on, grabbed his wallet, wand and keys, and left the apartment eagerly waiting to get out of the building.

Louis inhaled cold winter air that made him feel like he was stabbed with cold swords deep there in his lungs, but he couldn't be happier. He was out, on the open air, silent laugh escaped his throat as he started walking left. He didn't know where's he going, and as he passed a few streets and made at least three turns, he wasn't so sure that he could find his way back but he didn't care, being outside just felt too good to care about going back. He pulled his hands in his pockets, wishing he took something warmer than just light jacket, but hurrying made him forget that it might be cold outside. Well, he won't go back now, he was sure in that, no matter how cold it was. He turned the corner just as he felt something soft hitting in him, he heard timid meow as he caught the person he bumped into.
"Sorry." He glanced up and moved his hands, once he was sure that the person won't fall down, under her dark hair he recognized the person he doubt he'll see ever again. "Yvette?"

Yvette was walking without paying attention to her anyone else who might be around. She was more concerned about getting the kitten into warm air. Bumping into someone around the corner she gasped in surprise and was glad the person reached out to catch her. She knew that she would have fallen flat on her back because she didn't want to drop the kitten she was currently holding. She looked up with surprise when she heard her name and was even more surprised at who it was.

"Louis, hi." She said dumbfounded as to what to say, as she brushed her hair out of her face. "Thanks for making sure I didn't fall, I didn't want to drop the kitten I found. I probably would have landed on my bum otherwise." She said trying to make conversation considering she didn't know what else to do. "How are you Louis?" Yvette asked smiling softly at him as the kitten began climbing up her shirt before settling right next to her neck at the top. "It's been a while since I've seen you around." She tucked her jacket around the kitten to make sure it didn't get too much of the cold air on it. She didn't know what else to say to Louis because he was always so closed about many things.

He stood still looking at the girl in front of him and trying to calculate when did he saw her for the last time. Was it two or three years? He wasn't sure, only knowing that they haven't seen each other ever since he finished his schooling and left the castle, knowing that she's a year younger then him, it must be two years. "You're welcome." He couldn't help but smile, and put arms in his pockets. His eyes landed on little furry ball in her arms, kitten's eyes watched him with distrust. "I'm…good. You?" He was far away from good but didn't wanted to bother he, he was guilty for all the things that happened to him, anyway.

"It's been like two years?" It must be, considering she finished Hogwarts, but he said that as a question. "Does it have a name?" He nodded at the kitten when it calmed next to her neck. As another wind gust passed them he shivered once again cursing himself for not taking thicker jacket; that was just another reason for not liking winter, it's so cold. "Want to grab a coffee or something?" Louis offered, wanting to know did she change or she's still the same girl he knew. "There's a place nearby, where animals can come in too." He looked at the kitty again, then looked back at Yvette. "And I'm sure they have central heating, I'm not sure about you but I'm freezing." He laughed.

Yvette smiled when Louis eyed the kitten and she couldn't help but notice his smile. "I'm good I'm working at the Leaky as a waitress. I just got off work not too long ago." She said as she shivered slightly against the wind that began blowing more. "Oh this stupid winter, why can't it be over yet?" She said more to herself than anything as she curled more into her jacket protecting the kitten more. "What have you been up to lately? If you don't want to tell me you don't have to, I'm just trying to make conversation." She said laughing softly at her own words.

"Yeah it has been hasn't it, I swear time flies by really quickly." Yvette said smiling at him as felt the kitten start purring. "I just found it in the snow actually I'm gonna see if it has a home otherwise I'm probably gonna take it in. Poor thing was almost swallowed up by the snow." She said as she pet the kitten's silky soft head. Seeing him shiver and realized that he wasn't wearing a thick enough jacket. "Yeah that sounds great actually, you can lead the way since I have no idea where it's at." She smiled as she shivered again because it was too cold outside. "I'm freezing too and I really didn't want to go home quite yet." She said as she turned away from the wind trying to get away from the worst of it.

"Nice job, I suppose?" Being a waiter was one thing Louis could never do, not because he despised waiters, he didn't, but because he somehow inherited family clumsiness, if that's possible, so walking and caring something at the same time was an action he barely could do, especially if the thing he's caring is fragile. What catastrophe that would be. Louis chuckled, that was the same question he was asking since the winter has begun along with wishful thought about living in Sahara, he doubted Bedouins have problems with chilly winters, and if that's the only thing he could do, he'll do it. Or just think about it. "I'm just focusing on my job at the moment, trying to leave the best impression, you know, so there's barely any free time left." It was good to finally be with someone who tell exactly what she thought, like Yvette did, he was surrounded with liars for too long he already got used to listening lies and questioning every single word they said, and it was tiresome. Louis was glad because of the change.

"This way." They started walking in direction of the coffee shop, well, in direction Louis guessed coffee shop is. Though he lived there since he finished Hogwarts he still wasn't so sure where everything is, maybe if he spent less time at the Leaky, and more time exploring his neighbour the situation would be different. "I doubt someone left it outside. It would basically be attempt of murder, it's too cold outside for everyone, especially little kitten like this one." As they reached the shop Louis went first and opened the door for Yvette so she wouldn't accidentally drop the little cat. It suffered enough, already.

"Yeah it is a nice job, I get to interact with different people every day." Yvette said smiling softly as she pulled her coat more around her. "Well that has to be rough that you don't get any free time to yourself. Do you have any days off at all that you can just relax? It's not exactly healthy to overwork yourself, considering most people who do usually forget to eat and things like that." She looked at him then realized that she was rambling on about nothing. "Sorry I didn't mean to ramble on like that." She said wanting nothing more than to smack herself.

Yvette walked beside him as they walked towards a coffee shop. "I'm glad you know where your going, I would have got us lost in less than a second." She said honestly as she listened to him. "That's true the poor thing is couldn't have been outside for too long. It warmed up fairly quickly and it's shivers seemed to have abated. Well I think I'm gonna put up some posters just in case it escaped from it's home." Smiling when they got to the coffee shop and walked through when Louis opened the door. "Thank you Louis," She said as she looked at the near empty coffee shop.

He could say the same for his job, just people he interact with sometimes try to curse him, and he couldn't say he likes their attempts, but despite that he'll always volunteer to take extra hours at work, after all every other auror has some kind of social life, and Louis happened to have none. "I kinda choose that way since I actually like being an auror." It was true, Louis liked the idea of helping people, chasing the bad guys, but he did it also because the job needed his full attention, so working extra hours helped him not to think about other things that happen to be part of his life, the things he never talked about with someone before, the things he wanted to forget.

He led Yvette to the table beside window, pulling out a chair for her, after all his mother is French, and he had enough of complaint for not acting as a cavalier from the lovely Fleur Weasley for the rest of his life until he started to act the way she wanted, so far it has become like a second skin for him. Sitting on a chair across from her Louis tried to make the memories connected to this place go away. There was a reason for this place being one of his favourites, but the reason left him, and today he didn't sat across a bold Durmstrang girl, but across his school friend. The time is different. Circumstances are different. He's different. Suddenly he didn't know how to start a conversation while they waited for a waitress to come, so he went along with their previous conversation.

"How are you going to name it?"

Yvette smiled and said, "Well at least you like your job." She looked around the cafe taking it all in and finding that she liked it a lot. "Well you get to throw bad guys behind bars and get to do cool things since your an Auror." She grinned at him as she sat down in the chair he pulled out for her. She couldn't help but think that he was quite a gentlemen and she bit her lower lip to keep from giggling. Taking off her jack and putting it on the back of her chair she adjusted the kitten.

"I don't know, I usually am really bad at picking out names." Yvette said looking at the kitten wondering what she should name it. "I'm just hoping my other cat won't mind this one coming to stay. I doubt he will though Tiger is a very lazy kitten." She laughed softly when the kitten licked her chin but then went to her lap. Petting the kitten until it was purring she smiled then looked up at Louis. "How are things with you? Besides working like crazy," She asked genuinely curious and wanting to avoid going to her apartment.

"I thought that before I actually got the job." He joked glaring through the window for a moment then looking back at Yvette. "It's a lot less interesting than that. And oh, you should see the paperwork," he groaned, "there's enough of paperwork to drive you mad. I bet your job is actually much more interesting than mine with all those people coming in and out of the Leaky everyday." He visited the Leaky Cauldron quite often, almost every two days, but he doubted he saw everything that can be seen there, only pieces, and with all those different people who visit it he bet it's an interesting work place.

"Is that a grumpy cat that always followed you all around the Hogwarts?" He chuckled remembering those distrustful eyes, "That cat always hated me from some reason. I think I even have a scar to show just how much." He showed her pale thin line on his left fist. "And he gave me this after I gave him some bacon, well I probably shouldn't say it," he offered her apologizing smile, "silly cat, but it is cute." He shrugged.

Louis inhaled, that was the only topic he wanted to stay away from, before he wouldn't mind speaking about every aspect of his life, yet before he didn't want to run away from it, so the only thing he could talk about with her was his family, and he kinda doubted she would appreciate it, since Hugo is a part of his family, too, and although he didn't know do they speak again, the last thing he knows is that they broke up, so he didn't wanted to bring potentially unwanted informations.

"Well some days are awesome, others not so much, probably the same as everybody else. You?"
