Wanting to be someone [Pepper and Ciara]

Pepper had quite a bit of time in between her classes, her homework often got done the day that she was given it - to avoid the rigmarole of worrying about forgetting to do it. Actually getting it out the way and leaving it with her class notes not only ensured that she had the tasks completed but that she didn't forget them within the deep recesses of her dorm room trunk. The free time that she had normally was spent holed up in the library attempting to read through the entire catalog one book at a time.

Today however, was very different.

There was some event going on in the library to help the first years, who hadn't gone there yet, learn how to use the reference system and find their way around the stacks without getting lost. Pepper supposed that not everybody when they started Hogwarts would have rushed to the legendary library. They would be doing altogether more sociable things like, chatting in the study room or even hanging out by the lake. Books had always been her forte before people, however.

So, seeking out a quiet place to simply be away from large groups of students, Pepper had found herself in the trophy room. Looking at the shimmering plaques made her feel a certain kind of melancholy. A desire to have her name on one of these plaques before she left Hogwarts, to win a trophy for something that she does be it great grades or extra curricular activities. Sighing wistfully, Pepper peers inside one of the glass cases containing the sports awards - now Quidditch is something that she would freely admit she would never win an award for.

Ciara usually does her homwork away with very less time and them spends it in library or the near the lake. She isn't really very talktive one usually arounf people but she can be if needed. She just is like that.

Anyways since she knew her wag around the library then she jad excused herself for this event. She just didn't need it at all. She knew that some people will needed it since they might jave never went to library.

Girl just wandered around castle. It was already too cold for this first year hufflepuff. She soon did find herseld from torphy room. Awhile walking there she did found one womab. "Hey," she said there. "You imagine that you could be someone on these awards too if you wim price?" She asked then from here with a smile.

Pepper slyly shifted her gaze from the trophies in front of her, towards the entrance to the trophy room. She had heard someone walking by, and wondered whether they would be coming inside - or carrying on walking past on their business. Hoping it was the latter, she returned her gaze to the glistening cases and sighed lightly.

She wasn't going to get any awards now, she needed to show that she was a good student throughout all her years, not just the first one. Looking at them wasn't going to do anything but make her feel all, demotivated with schoolwork at the moment.

Swiftly Pepper jerked her head up and away from the cases when she heard someone entering the room. Warily, she kept her gaze trained on the fellow student until she came to a stop in order to admire the trophies here as well. At least she didn't seem to be an older student, she looked around her age - which relaxed her ever so slightly.

"Hello." she replied quietly, with a small nod of her head in the girls direction "It would be nice, to win a trophy. I think everyone would like to win one, in secret even if they don't admit it."

Gently Pepper smiled at her shoes, before deciding to try and keep the conversation going. The student seemed nice, so the least she could do was continue to be polite to her until she left.

"I'm Pepper, by the way."

Ciara did listen what Pepper now said to her and nodded her head. She totally did understand it. She looked at these awards and trophies now too more closely.

"Yeah you are totally right about it. All of us want to win trophies for sure. At least one but to get even one is hard," she said there now. It was so true since Ciara was only good at studying and het knowledge basically.

"I'm Ciara," she said then her name now too. "I'm first year hufflepuff," she added then at the end. She founded it necassary information right now. She needed to make some friends but it wasn't that easy at all as she first thought.

Pepper enjoyed the small tidbits of conversation that she had with many people around Hogwarts, its true that she didn't have very many close friends but there were people whom she could have a conversation with if things were starting to get a little lonely. Maybe she could add this student with the rest of her acquaintances here?

Realistically Pepper never expected that she would make any 'friends for life' here at Hogwarts - she was too reserved for that. Having people she could amiably speak with on occasion, and so many of them at that, was more than enough for her right now.

"I don't think I'll be getting any of these trophies though." Pepper stated with a shy smile, nodding towards the Quidditch trophies in the case in front of her "I am terrible at sports."

Ever so slightly Pepper's smile grew, she was happy that she had met a fellow first year student and that she seemed to be nice. At least she had someone to speak to about problems she had in classes and things, because they would be on the same level of education - instead of approaching a much older student or a professor.

"I'm Pepper, but uhm...you can call me Pip if you like." she replied with a slight shuffle of her feet, doing something to expel her nervous energy "It's nice to meet someone in my year, although, I'm in Ravenclaw house, not Hufflepuff."

Ciara did like meeting new people but it didn't happen lately that much like she had wished for since she spends time alone most of times. She looked at the trophy in front of her. Some quidditch player had gotten it.

Hufflepuff girl wanted to have some friends in here in Hogwarts but she wasn't sure how well she will succeed in it. This task didn't seem that easy now at all, like she at first did thought.

"Same here. I won't get them too, I'm not good in quidditch and so on," she said there now did smile a little bit. She wasn't sad because of it all.

Also Ciara was happy to meet one more her fellow first year student. She had met few in first herbology lesson. Also she did met one first year boy who was hufflepuff like her in common room. So she had few people with who she could talk and ask help but she didn't really had any friends yet. She hopes one day she will have.

"Yeah it is nice to meet in some in my year too. We still can hang out when ever we want and ask help from each others," she said there with a smile. She was glad that she could meet someone nice like Pepper.

Pepper was happy to meet someone who wasn't good at sports like herself, although she was not against watching a Quidditch game in fair weather situations she wasn't a die hard fan. That meant that in winter games she would be safely inside in the library - where she would be warm and content. Instead of being stuck outside in the cold and rain.

"I uhm, don't mind Quidditch of course. I am quite excited to see my first game here at Hogwarts." she elaborated, with a shy smile "Have you ever been to a game before?"

It was a great relief to Pepper to hear that Ciara wanted to be friends as well. It put her worries to rest , most of the time she did concern herself whether people truly did want to be speaking to her or if they were simply humoring her. Ciara, saying herself that she wanted to hang around with each other and give Pepper help when she needed it, made her smile wider.

Hanging out with older students tended to make her feel stressed, like she had to be as intelligent as possible all the time. Perhaps she would be able to be herself around Ciara?

"I would like that." Pepper stated, her tone lighter than before "Do you think, that we er, have any classes together? I might sit by you, if we do."

To be honest Ciara didn't had anything against Quidditch too but she wouldn't want to watch it in cold. It wasn't so good idea most of times. But sometimes it would be fun to watch it.

"I haven't seen game yet before but I would like too see it at least for once," she answered here now. "What abou you?" She asked now back with a smile.

Ciara had already few connections with younger students. Same house as her even but any of them she didn't really call yet friends. They have met pratically just once or so far. She usually makes friends easily. Age doesn't matter for her at all. Being around older ones isn't so good probably since they are smarter than her.

She smiled there. "I'm really nkt sure. Probably we have something together," she said ther now with a smile. "I won't mijd you sitting next to me," she added then.

Pepper shook her head when Ciara asked her if she had ever seen a Quidditch game before, although she wasn't saying anything overtly personal little snippets of herself were coming out in the conversation. She realised, that actually there was nothing wrong with that, nothing bad had happened, so perhaps she should share more about herself. With Ciara only, until she got more confident.

"No I haven't seen one yet, my parents don't really like sports either so." she stated with a small smile "Maybe we should go and see the first match together, it would be nice to have someone to go with." Pepper suggested with a meek smile, nervous in case Ciara would turn down her offer.

Nodding her head, Pepper thought it would make sense for them to have at least one lesson together, but despite her logical brain telling her that, there was still a worry present. The worry that she would turn up to class like she had done the first time, and nobody she knew would be there. That had been a truly horrible experience.

"What is uhm, your favourite lesson?" Pepper inquired, wrapping a curl of her hair around her finger to occupy her restless hands "I myself enjoy Divination and History of Magic."

Ciara wasn't afraid of talking about personal stuff. Expect very personal ones, some things wete very awkward to talk about but she will avoid those topics for now. But talking about going quidditch game wasn't awkward topic for Ciara at all.

"Sure we can go and watch something together now if you want then when ever there is now next game. I'm not sure when next one is," she said there now with a smile. She didn't really wanna go alone either.

Maybe yeah they have some lessons together, who knows how the lessons are put in pods now. Ciara did hope that they will jave lesdon togethet too. Pepper sounded like very good kid with who she would like hang out more.

"My favorite lesson is Charms actually," she said therr honestly thefr. "I also like Potions too but Charma is the most favorite one," she added then.
