Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Susan was preparing for the big day. She was making Claire’s and Edgar’s favourite dishes. She was spending hours slaving over the stove. She was making all her food the muggle way. She wanted tomorrow to be special. She had sent for Jessica, Drew and Amelia to come home for the weekend. This would be the first time she had all of her three of her kids home all at the same time.

She was glad that her father was out dealing with the funeral home and her mother was upstairs in her room with her oxygen tank reading a book. A few months ago the almost lost her mother to stroke and had called in hospice but she yet her mum pulled through.

Preparing For The Wake Empty Re: Preparing For The Wake

Jessica was happy; she hadn't been happy because of Edgar's death, who would? A death can define, end, and destroy a life, Jessica had received the latter. She to the eyes of others, blames her mother for her brothers death, but she secretly couldn't wait to see Susan again.

Apparently she would see her whole family; grandparents and siblings. And couldn't wait. Her flaxen hair was wavy, and had dirty blonde highlights for a change, and a white bow sat on top, as a fascinator (Is that what their called?)

She was nearly at the verge of crying, as she saw the old house, it was as big as she remembered, and a smile crept upon her face. She knocked on the door, even though she had a key, and in an almost angelic tone, said, "Mother, it's me."

Spoiler:

Susan was glad that she was good at cooking otherwise making all the food would be impossible. She made note that she needed to teach her girls how to cook. She’s been so busy she hadn’t had much to think about the future. She was so busy with the Daily Prophet, it was taking up so much of her time it was ridiculous, but she felt like she was doing something important.

“Hello, Jessica. I forgot to tell you in the letter but your father should be here tomorrow,” Susan said filtering what she wanted to say. She wanted to say that finally after someone dies does he care enough to take time off and be with the family but she made self-control then that. The real question would Amelia; Susan knew Amelia was still angry with her father but does she still have self-control. Susan recalled what she was like when her Aunt Amelia was killed, she hoped Amelia was faring better then she had but knew deep down that her daughter wasn’t. Nothing was simple or easy anymore and Susan missed those days but knew there was no going back.

Preparing For The Wake Empty Re: Preparing For The Wake

Amelia wasn’t happy about going home for a funeral but was doing it anyways. She had to drag Drew out of Hogwarts with her. She wasn’t going to let her baby brother get out of coming to this. If she was going so was he. Drew didn’t even argue with Amelia knowing it would be a waste of time.
“Melia, what’s with the red dress?” asked Drew.

“What’s with the formal pants and white shirt?” asked Amelia.

“Are you having one of those days where you act all mysterious and answer a question with a question,” said Drew.

“It’s better than any other mood I have,” sighed Amelia.

Amelia knocked on the door her strange knock she had always done since she was kid. She’d knock three times lightly then two times hard. Drew just shrugged it off; he knew his sister was strange. Now she waited for someone to let her in.

(OOC: I think I might make Ernie?? What do you think?))

She was about to reply to her mother when she heard a distinct knock, and a smile crept onto her face, "Amelia," she whispered to her mother, and skipped to the door, and widely opened it, as she saw her sister. She turned around, and faced her mother, "Ok..." she said processing her thoughts, she smelt a whiff of food,, and let out a long sigh. "Where's Nanna?" she asked, "I can hear her oxygen tank, don't try hide her" she said, half-smiling, half-glaring at her mother.

She kissed Amelia quickly on the cheek before leaving up the stairs, listening to the trail of heavy-breaths, she walked into the bedroom and saw her grandma. She smiled at her, and lightly hugged her.

"Sometimes I need what only you can provide: your absence." her Nanna said, grinning at her, and offering a liquorice lolly. Her grandmother was sarcastic at the best of times, but she let it go. "Nice to see you too Nan," she said before leaving the room, in search of Granddad.

Preparing For The Wake Empty Re: Preparing For The Wake

“She’s upstairs reading dear. Your grandfather is probably outside gardening,” announced Susan ignore the glare. She had seen it but she wasn’t going to let it affect her. She had three teenagers, all of her kids glared at her once in a while, it did nothing to her anymore. She never really reacted to anything negative they did unless someone was yelling; otherwise she’d lose her mind.

She stopped cooking for just a moment to greet her other two kids. She hugged Drew ruffling the top of his head and kissed the top of Amelia’s. She knew the last thing Amelia wanted was to be hugged. She knew when to give her kids space.

“Amelia, dear, mind helping me in the kitchen!” called Susan; she honestly just wanted to talk to Amelia alone. She notice she was one of the few people Amelia seemed to listen to anymore.

((OOC: Go ahead. I can push the funeral and wake make if want him to be part of it))

Preparing For The Wake Empty Re: Preparing For The Wake

Amelia brushed herself off after being hugged. She really hated hugs right now. Drew looked insulted that he had been ignored but he was sort of use to people not remembering about him. He would fallow Amelia around like a puppy most of the time and she let him unless she was in a bad mood.

She was glad when her mum didn’t hug her. She saw Drew run off to play Wizard Chess with himself. She wondered into the kitchen to help her mother. She knew that her mum just wanted to talk since Amelia didn’t know how to cook.

“I’m fine mum, really. I’m doing much better. The nightmares are less often and no I still can’t remember who that girl was,” she said before her mum ever asked.
