Didn't your mom ever tell you.... Empty Didn't your mom ever tell you....

Post by Christopher LeBlanc Tue Oct 02, 2012 5:20 am

Christopher walked to the duelling arena, in his best clothes, he had received a letter earlier saying:

Christopher,
Meet me in the Duelling Arena, at 2800 hours, I have a surprise for you, don't be late.
A.S.

That was all the letter read, and Christopher made sure he wouldn't be late. Who was this mystery person, who had sent him a letter, did the man want Christopher to duel with him, or maybe teach him how to, was it a phoney letter, in which he'd go there and be set-up, why couldn't they tell him in person? Christopher didn't know.

He had a suit on, not really practical for duelling, but it would do, just fine. Chris in his opinion was a master dueller, no-one could beat him, not even the man who had sent him the vague letter.

He opened the door to the Arena, and stood opposite a dummy, and breathed in and out, "Stupefy," he yelled, and the armed dummy, flipped back, he made a face which said, did-anyone-see-my-awesome-ninja-powers, but it didn't look like anyone had, when was this person going to show up?

Avis recieved a letter from the mystery person as well. It was well written, however she was not really exited about the thought of engaging in a duel with someone. In fact, she did not see this as a great idea at all.
However, she was curious. How was this C.L. person and why on earth would he want to duel with her? Avis was not a remarkable person. She was rarely noticed in the school and during the lessons she never raised her voice to reply to the questions. Why on earth would someone notice her now, and what worse, duel with her?

Curiosity killed a cat. Hopefully it won't happen with me, she though as she got ready to meet her faith. She took her wand and left the dormitory. No one ever questioned why she left the room or where did she go. No one actually cared. She was a wallflower.

as she opened the door which led to the Arena, Avis looked around and was quite surprised to see a Slytherin there, waiting for her. A slytherin! She allowed surprise reflect on her face. There was still a chance of her leaving, but something made her stay. "Is this some kind of a joke?" she asked, frowning and reaching out her hand with the little piece of paper. A letter that she recieved earlier.

He looked uncertainly at a girl who walked in, a girl? Why was he duelling a girl? But it got better, she was a Gryffindor, was this some kind of joke? She held out a piece of paper, and he snatched it from her hand, it was a twin with the one he got, except the initials were C.L, his initials. "I'm guessing you're A.S.?" he asked, he knew she would be, and then he remembered her, "Avis Summers, you are" he said looking into her eyes.

"Well, I won't deny someone pleasure, let's duel, Ladies First Sweetheart," he said in a mocking tone, indicating the duelling platform. He stood on it, and gradually raised his wand, "I know it's ladies first, but I guess we can make an exception, it's now beast before beauty and I'm still waiting for you," he said grinning at her.

Avis rolled her eyes as he snatched the piece of paper from her hands. A nice word and she'd give it to him. Yet she did not say anything, only examined his face. So this was this C.L. Christopher Leblanc if her memroy was correct. An arrogant Slytheein who deserved the hatetat he recieved fron the gryffindors!
"Your guess is correct," she replied, voice calm and quiet. There was a possibility of it being a prank pulled on her, or in worse case, on them. The last thing that she wanted was to recieve hatred from bunch of brainless idiots.

"Duel?" Avis raised her eyebrows at him. She knew that Slytherins were straiht forqard but she guessed that he'd like to know who set both of them up for this. They might get in troubleo worse - expelled! "I have no intentions to fight you." not that she was afraid. Avis knew spells and she knew how to shut him up, but there were morals that kept her from doingvall of this. Otherwise she'd be like him. Stubborn and brainless.

"Oh, c'mon. This is a 'Duelling Arena" it's here to practise your spells, 'Ok," he said mocking her by making his words nice and slow, "D..u...e..l...l..i..n...g... i..s f..u..n.. It goes like this, Expelliarmus" he yelled pointing his wand at her wand, "See you didn't expect it, now, let's see if you can at least make a hair on my head move"

He wasn't expecting her to be fancy, maybe just say Stupefy, that kind've spell was expected by a gryffindor.

Avis frowned. Hesaw this as a fun thing, Avis, on the other hand, saw this as a disturbing action. Worthless, too, in this case.
"It may be fun for you," she replied carefully, stepping forward into arena. With this she locked her choice. Avis did not want to duel with him but she wanted to know the truth - why was she invited there. "But I prefer to spend my time by other ways. More fun ways."
As he casted a spell at her, Avis stepped away from it. "Will you just stop it?" Avis looked around.
No one was there, no one was even spectating. Why did he even bother himself with her and why did he waste their time?

However she realized that he would not let her be like this so she took out her wand, just in case. She readied herself for another, incoming attack.

"Don't worry, I'm not going to cast at you again." He said in a convincing tone, "I might be a Slytherin, but I'm a gentleman in disguise," he said smiling at her, and putting out his hand for her to shake, or deny and put out her hand, in which he would lightly peck. "Pleasure to meet you," he said smiling at her. "So, why would fate bring us here together tonight?"

(that's okay)

He said that, but Avis could not believe a word that one Slytherin told her. They were snakes, liars! A proper Gryffindor would never trust a person like that. Besides, he was the first one to cast a spell at her. And even though this was only a disarming spell, she still felt that there was need to be careful around him. Who knew what he had in this little head.
Once he pulled out his hand, she looked at it carefully, examining it. Then she shook it, eyes on his face. Avis held her wand in the other hand. "Why would it bring you pleasure?" she asked and let go of his hand.
Although she had a great urge to hide it in the pocket, away from him, Avis forced herself to act casually. Like he was just a person who hated everything that was binded with her. "Perhaps a stupid prank that someone was brave enough to pull on us," she replied shortly after he asked his question. Avis looked around again. The arena was empty.

"Maybe, or maybe it was destined for us to be together," he said walking in circles around her, "But seriously, I swear, hand-to-heart, I won't cast at you again, so you can put your wand away," it was true, he wasn't going to cast at her if she wasn't aware.

"It brings me pleasure, because it gives me a chance to look into your beautiful eyes, in class I have too concentrate and I don't have much time to look at you, does it bring you any pleasure to meet me here sweetheart?" he asked, wondering what the answer would be.

Avis chewed on her lower lip. She had no sence of humour if it was even a joke that Christopher was pulling. She could not smile nor laugh in this situation. Nor was she a romantic when he mentioned destiny about them two being together. No, this wasn't a destiny and those two would never-ever be together.
Not only was this a forbidden fruit, but it also disgusted her somehow. Avis had realized years ago that she was unable to feel any emotions towards the people that surrounded her. Except for family of course. She loved her mother and father, but this was another thing.

Finally she gave up and hid her wand in the sleeve. She had a secret pocket in there thanks to what she was able to pull out her wand and protect herself from incoming harm. That was, in case if she were fast enough to prevent such things.
Once he mentioned her eyes, Avis frowned, yet, out of curiosity, she looked back at him. His eyes were bright blue right now. A mutation. First thought of someone who was interested in human nature, their mutations and other illnesses or genetics. Her eyes were greenish-brown, something not so rare or worth noticing. "Not at all," replied she shortly, voice wry this time. She saw no pleasure in meeting one of the snakes personally.
