Duels and Drinks

It was obvious that summer was here. The sun was shining bright and the warm breezes that blew were a sure fire sign that his season was here. It was too bad that he had to work throughout the summer. But it was okay, he did have some free time so he could manage everything just fine, he hoped. This was his first year having to juggle a job with his summer for real. But he knew he would be able to do it, he'd always been a sort of multitasker so he'd manage.

Now he had a day off from work and he didn't have any classes to teach either so he decided to go off somewhere for the day. Where he was going, he wasn't very sure about. But soon enough he found that his wanderings had led him to Diagon Alley. It was as good a place as any to spend a day off, he decided and he began to walk down the street, looking into every other shop for something that might interest him. All the shops had interesting things, but nothing was enough to grab his attention for very long.

Since he started working at the Ministry and Hogwarts, Jake found that not many things surprised him anymore. If something new was out he would know about it almost immediately from either someone at Hogwarts, be it student of teacher, or from someone at the Ministry. So it was hard for something he saw in shops to interest him because he'd already seen then somewhere. He sighed softly and kept walking down the street, his head lowered a bit as he looked down at his feet, wishing he could have a friendly duel with someone, like he usually did with Omara.

Alphonso was strolling down Diagon Alley looking through different shop windows. He would occasionally find himself staring at a person; trying to guess their age and shoe size. Al was bored, and being bored was never fun, especially for Al. Al always needed something to do! It was just not like him to not to anything and enjoy it. He huffed and stuck his hands in his pockets as he entered a book store. He then realized he had forgotten his wallet at home and groaned. He figured he may as well look around though and made a B line towards the spell books. He wanted to read that new book of spells that came out. Fourty new spells Al could learn, he was so excited.

After a while of browsing he left with a few new spells to try. He sighed contently and then realized he was bored again. Where was Lena when he needed her? She was always ready to change his day entirely and add some excitement to it. He left his hands out of his pocket this time as he continued to walk the streets of Diagon Alley. Peering through windows here and there, enjoying the summer breeze. Occasionally getting weird stares from his outfit but he didn't mind. He simply adjusted his bow tie and continued to walk on with a big smirk.

His eyes caught the eyes of a pretty girl and he wasn't looking ahead of him. What an idiotic thing to do, he suddenly realized his mistake and brought his eyes front and center again. However before he could react he ran smack into another man with his head down. Crashing to the ground a few people stared but eventually continued on their way. He groaned and rubbed his head. "Sorry mate, are you okay?" he said as he slowly got back onto his feet. He put out his hand for the other man to grab, he looked fairly young. Oh, probably about nineteen. His shoes are muddy so he probably works with animals. he thought to himself, and then he shrugged.

It was boring without Nemo there to challenge him to a duel. But with what had happened not that long ago, he knew that it would be a little while before he even talked to him. That man must be furious with him, especially because Jake hadn't helped him when he asked him to help him get out of St. Mungo's. If Jake approached him now, how knows what he would do to him. He definitely did not want to risk a hex from Nemo, he was much more experienced than Jake was and he was sure that it would harm him a lot more than he could harm him.

He'd just turned around to start walking again when someone ran into him. The impact was hard enough to send him hurdling down to the ground. He let out a small groan as he landed and looked up at the man who had bumped into him. He took the other man's hand and lifted himself up off the ground. Dusting himself off he said, "Yes, I'm fine." He ran a hand through his now messy hair - it was hard enough to get it to stay in the mronings and now it was moved out of place. He shrugged afterwards and turned his attention beck to the other man. "Are you okay?" he asked him.
