Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Peace is Hard to Come By Empty Peace is Hard to Come By

Tris liked the rain. It was steady and strong, if slightly annoying. She always came out to the Courtyard when it rained; it meant that no one would be outside. She had put a waterproof charm on her book, but had decided to take a chance with her clothes.

So, outside she sat, relaxing on a bench after a tough day of classes and people who acted like morons. One would think that a person would eventually get tired of reading so much, and it was true that Tris had had her nose stuck in a book for the past few days, and that she was slowly tiring of it.

Tris reached a page in her book where nothing much was happening, and closed it. She leaned her head against a wall, fixed the hood of her coat so it fit around her head, and closed her eyes. The rhythmic sound of the rain against the roof lulled her into a sense of peace.

Peace is Hard to Come By Empty Re: Peace is Hard to Come By

Miseria didn't give much of a damn wether it was raining or not. As soon as the bell rang and the last lesson ended, she basically ran out from the classroom into Hufflepuff's common room to leave her bag there and then she rushed outside.
Fresh air almost like hit her in the face. She stood there for a moment, motionless and not knowing what to do as she stared into the heavy rain. Few days ago she caught a cold and was now sneezing and coughing as if she planned to get rid of her lungs.
She reached out her hand and felt how the cold raindrops fell on her palm. She shivered a little but then she stepped outside; cold water poured all over her and then she realized that even if she'd get even more sick, she didn't care.

Taking out her wand, she only put a shield around her for protection against the raindrops and then she looked around. Everything was grey. And quiet. Students were hiding in the castle, enjoying the warmth and waiting for dinner. Miseria was lucky that her dorm was in the dungeons, really close to the kitchens. She could sneak there whenever she wanted, and those little house elves were always so happy to see her.

Humming quietly, she walked around the school grounds, sometimes stopping and looking around just to see wether there were any other students outside or not. There weren't. Sighing quietly, she walked towards the courtyard.

Peace is Hard to Come By Empty Re: Peace is Hard to Come By

Another annoyance about rain; it reached everywhere you thought it couldn't. Tris's nose twitched as a rain drop landed lightly on the tip of her nose. She let out a huff of annoyance, and opened her eyes. Her waterproof charm had held true, and her book was untouched by the water pouring from the sky. She laid it on the bench, and stood up, shaking the water off of her face and hair.

A sudden idea hit her. It was childish and random, which usually turned her off. But it was so simplistic yet fun sounding that it came across appealing. Tris looked around to make sure no one was watching, and took out her wand. She wandered around, searching for a large puddle of some sort. She found it in a small hole underneath a small patch of flowers.

She flicked her wand, and muttered a Levitation Charm. The water slowly lifted up into the air, wobbling and waving like a leave in the wind. Tris knew she needed to keep focus for this to work; casting spells had never come as easily to her as it had to others. She would rather learn the theory of magic than actually use it. She slowly moved her wand to the right, and the water shifted in that direction. She moved it a little more quickly to the left, then back to the right. That caused the water to split, making two separate pools. Tris felt a smile growing on her face.

With renewed confidence, she moved her wand around, making the water dance and twirl. The pool slowly grew bigger as the rain poured down, and the shapes became more intricate and complex. Tris was certainly no master at Charms, but this was one of the few times she was alone, and she was not about to let it go to waste.

(OOC: I'm not actually sure if the components of water combined with magic allow her to do this, but I'm not too concerned with specifics Razz )
