Welcome to Potter’s Army

Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

for what its worth, i was on a site where they did the vaults system and for them it seemed to work. idk if the site is still around....b/c i bailed on it in favor of pa. i joined both sites at the same time, but i stayed here b/c that site was so clique-ish that if you didn't already belong, nobody paid attention to you--literally. but...the point is, their vault system worked, and if the site doesn't exist anymore, it wasn't the vault system that fell apart, i'm sure.

So you're saying that on top of a retainer they'd be making money per post?
Thing is, if it's automatic to certain forums, which to my knowledge is how the point system works, how will anything work when non-workers post there? I mean, the leaky cauldron has customers and staff, professors don't just post in their class, and students post in the classes anyway, and the Minister may not post as often as a shop owner, but he would have a higher pay rate so, say we set up his office to be 5 points per post, any people who post there would be making more than they're meant to.

But I don't think that is your plan at all, you wouldn't leave a hole that big.

So, can you make a post like my own which explains the system in full, just so I'm not spouting the same problems over an over again Razz

Fine, forget the money to post thing.

Its still much easier, on both us and on the members, to have an inventory in the profile and to not have to post at gringotts. Remember, if we make the money system it can not be a chore. Going to gringotts and posting every week about your salary and the things you bought is a chore and they won't like it.

And we're doing it for them after all >.>

Is there a way you can see that would put a spin that would ensure it would be enjoyable?

I mean, one post a week doesn't seem that choreish to me, but it might to others, so guaranteeing enjoyment now would be a good move on our part
