Jess's task
Welcome to Potter’s Army

Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Jess's task Empty Jess's task

ess listened keenly as a canon fired in the distance. ‘This is it,’ he thought, running out the champion’s tent and immediately tripping over something. He stood up and brushed himself off before checking to see what he’d tripped over. It was a small, round, smooth black stone that had something engraved on it. Jess picked it up, wondering what it said and read it. ‘Your hint:’ it read on one line, ‘Somewhere hidden your special one is. To find them you have to go to something that rhymes with is. When you find it your task will be easy. Although if you don’t it might get quite breezy.’ Jess read and re-read what it said then grimaced, Cross Country had never been his idea of fun, seeing as he tripped over a lot.

He sighed and began to walk, wondering why the task seemed so easy. All he had to do was walk through a forest right? Wrong. As he turned he heard and odd scuttling, followed by an odd clicking sound. The bold, adventurous hero put his hands over his eyes and began to walk ahead; hoping he didn’t see what had made the noise. His hopes were in vain though when he bumped into something, bumpy, hairy, large and hard. His fingers parted slightly enough to see there was something just in front of him. Something with 8 long, hairy legs; with 8 black, beady eyes that were all darting in different directions, and 2 pincers below them. It was an Acromantula; and it was a big one. Jess’ eyes widened in terror as he drew his wand, ‘what spell would work?’ He asked himself, choosing one in his mind. Finally, after about 15 seconds he chose a spell. “Incendio!” he cried, watching as the hairy legs caught on fire. There was a bellow of pain as the Acromantula ran, burning down trees as he passed by them. After a few minutes there was a loud thud in the distance and the screaming noise came no more. ‘Thank goodness,’ Jess though to himself before turning back to his selected path.

Soon after he was lost, traversing through the forest aimlessly when he thought he saw something ahead. As he neared the figure it suddenly moved, causing Jess to jump wit fright and murmur “Lumos,” Shedding a beam of light on the figure. As he tried to discern its identity he realised what it was. “Hello Sophia.” He said, strolling forward and looking at her. “Nice to see you here” He told her, untying the ropes that held her in place. It was then that he saw she was frozen. “Rennervate,” He muttered but nothing happened. He frowned once more and sighed. “Locomotor-Sophia,” He said, causing Soph to rise a few feet off the ground. He then started walking back in the direction he came with Soph following, occasionally bumping into something. After a while Jess and Soph emerged into a small, brightly lit clearing with people all around. “Here we go.” He said to Soph as he lowered her and watched Madam Promfrey revive her. At that moment the judges rushed over to him and gave all the congratulatory speeches then sent him over to the bench to await his marks.
