Lesson 8 - Basic Level

Wilson entered his classroom. It was empty, for now, but soon... his students will arrive, thinking they can do what they want, as it is with the majority of them. He had finally begun with teaching some relevant subjects, meaning he had finished with those boring and stressing introductory classes. He waved his hand, and text appeared on the board, with the usual not to copy it down. As soon as they were all present, he would start with the class.

"Hello Sir," said Sam as he walked into the classroom. His voice, he had to admit, sounded a little tentative, and given the happenings of the last class, he couldn't help but think that tentativeness was justified in this room.

"How was Philippa after last lesson?" He asked quietly, the girl who'd been hit by the equivalent of an emotional wrecking ball last lesson intrigued Sam quite a lot, and he'd not seen her for awhile after the lesson.

Maybe because it was a Friday, and Sam had spent the entire weekend in Headmaster Doyle's office, but that was another story.

"Ooh," he then said, a look of shock appearing on his face as he read the topic of the lesson on the blackboard. "Wow... are you sure this is safe?" he asked, a look of concern crossing his face for a few seconds, before disappearing.

Life tended to get interesting when you learned how to tap into Muggle Radio waves. So, via a pair of headphones her brother had packed into her trunk that September gone, Pippa had managed to perfect a spell that let her tap into the signals that the Muggles got on their radios. That was the reason why she was dancing down the corridors, periodically biting into an emerald green apple. She was getting some incredibly strange looks from the students passing her but she paid them no mind. She was swathed in music and her day always got better when she was around the melodies and soft crooning voices. She wasn’t exactly blasting that into her ears though. It was some dance track from an era long gone.

Pippa bounded into the DADA classroom. She gave a little twirl in the doorway, her eyes still closed, and she kicked the door shut before taking her bag off of her shoulders. She opened her mouth and mouthed the lyrics to the song before taking one of the earphones out of her ear. She blushed a bright pink colour and waved gently.

“Hi everyone!”

Oh Dear Merlin, Selwyn hated this class. It was just so... with a horrible teacher. Mind you, the majority of the teachers at Hogwarts were horrible, so that wasn't saying much.

As he entered the room, Selwyn was in just enough time to hear some Gryffindork ask if this was safe. He winced, both in anticipation of the lesson and in sympathy for the kid who was about to get a detention, and looked at the board himself.

Dementors.

"Yeah, is this safe?" he asked.

What the hell, why did his mouth have to go and dump his body in the dragon dung like that?

Still, he did suspect Wilson was just insane enough to bring a dementor into the school. He really, really hoped he wasn't. But he probably was. ERGH.

Aurora walked swiftly into the DADA classroom that morning trying to look as though she had been around the whole time. She didn’t want anyone thinking she had skipped class all of the time but, she also didn’t want anyone wondering where she had been. Nodding to the professor, Aurora sat down at her usual desk in the back.

As she set her stuff on the desk, she thought of everything her and Hugo had done in Mexico and Paris. It had been very nice of him to bring her to those places for their first two dates and now she wished that she hadn’t had to come back to school. She wanted to graduate in 5 years so she had to though.
