the green eyed monster

Cecilia sat in the court yard by her self she was suppose to meet Jack there so they could hang out like they had before she got into all the drugs and dinking. Now she smoked every day even at this moment she was and she still drank occasionally but not like before when she’d be drunk every night. Now she only got drunk once or twice a week not including the weekends when she’d go out to the clubs. She looked around for jack as she sat under the tree that gave some shade in the sunny court yard. Here it was cooler than out in the sun. She pondered going to sit in the sun where she could at least work on a tan while waiting for him.

Jack walked through the courtyard, squinting his eyes and looking for Cecilia. They were supposed to meet here, and so far, he was stumped. had she ditched him? Left him? Oh.. She's right there.. Jack thought. He walked over to her with a grin on his face. He stood over her, looming like a happy giant, than sat next to her under the tree.

"Hey Ceci"

"Hey Jack," Cecilia said putting out her cigarette knowing he didn't like it and she wasn't going to expose him to something he didn't like. that wasn't the kind of person she was. she was a nice a possible at all times. or at least she tried. "what do you want to do?" she asked shielding her eyes from the sun as she looked up at him, "go down to the lake? sit here? or what?" she really didn't feel like moving again but if he really wanted to leave she would only after making him help her up off her ass. she leaned back on her elbows and looked up at the sky as he sat down next to her. her shorts where short and her tank top was a bright pink and green.

Jake walked out to the courtyard, alone, looking for a pendant he had seen a few nights before when he was in the hospital wing. He had grabbed it that night, but apparently he dropped it on his way back to the Gryffindor common room. He felt stupid for losing it again, and he felt even stupider knowing that it belonged to his friend. As he walked, looking at the ground, he heard talking, soft talking, and looked up. He saw Cecilia and some other kid, probably from her house was his first thought. He knew the kid wasn't in Gryffiindor. He walked toward them, smiling like he usually did. "Hey Cecilia." he said and turned to the boy. "Hey, I'm Jake. What's your name?" he asked, trying to be polite.

Cecilia looked up at Jake smiling "Hey Jake," she said standing to put her arms around his neck and give him a hug, “what you up to?” she asked, “those two friends of yours leavening you alone still?” her hands where rest on Jakes chest as she looked down at Jack “this is Jack,” she said smiling looking between the two of them. She had been happy hanging out with Jack but now she seemed happier with Jake there two. They where two of their favorite guys for the moment, though she didn’t think that would change for a while unless they started acting like jack asses about anything.

Jack looked at the new guy, han at Cecilias reaction to him coming, and introducing them, and he immeadiatly thought, Crutacious or Imperious? He stood up, and brushed himself off, than, stuck out his hand, with a smile that looked whole-heartedly real, and said,

"Jack Kubin, nice to meetcha."

Though in his mind he was plotting out how best to humiliate Jake in front of Cecilia. Maybe if he... no, that's illegal. He looked at how Cecilia was so close to him.. leaning on his chest.. He kept his anger at him cooled down, and made his eyes show no anger.

Jake continued to smile and returned Cecilia's hug, before reaching out to take Jack's hand and shaking it. He looked back at Cecilia and sighed. " Well, I was out here looking for a pendant Mar lost. She made me come out here to look for it, saying it was my fault, because her and Callin had been looking for me when she lost it." he told her. "So, no the aren't leaving me alone." he laughed softly. He looked around a little not really looking for the pendant. He woould just tell her he couldn't find it no matter how much he looked for it. She would believe him anyways.

“I don’t think you’d like it if I talked to them,” Cecilia said, “they would probably be so freaked out and end up never leavening you alone because they’d want to protect you from a crazy person.” she was giggling at the thought of what she could say to them if Jake would let her talk to them. “either that or they’d be so freaked that they’d leave Hogwarts all together. “ she smiled up at him looking through her eyelashes trying to look innocent and all of that stuff. Jake was older and more mature and Jack was her age and wouldn’t be leavening school soon she knew she’d need both of them just like she has need Elijah in the past.

Jack stood there, arms folded, surveying them talking, feeling a bit awkward in their presence. They seemed so cool with talking to each other... so easily flowing. Jack always felt a bit awkward around Cecilia when talking to her, but he hid that feeling. He scratched his elbow quietly, and sighed quietly. He felt his wand feel heavy in his inside pocket, but he he resisted the urge to take it out.

"No, you don't have to talk to them.." he said. "They won't be afraid of you and they definately won't leave Hogwarts because of you. But the 'never leave me alone' part.. that they will do." he laughed. He didn't want Cecilia to get involved with his friends, because they would most likely try to hurt her in some way. But in what way he couldn't say.. they just did things and he never really found out to what extent things went. There was always something that kept his friends on him and he wanted to stop that. Maybe after he graduated, he would be able to get away from them more.. That is if they didn't follow him everywhere, like they did now
