Some depressing news

Sally frowned crumpling up the newspaper she was holding. She couldn't believe that it had happened she had no idea it would ever happen. She didn't even get to say good bye to her. Sally felt tears start to form in her eyes. "No! I will not be seen crying!" She thought to herself wiping away the tears as quick as she could as she entered Diagon Alley.

She continued walking staring at the picture on the front page not paying much attention to where she was walking. A tear would fall every once in a while on the picture as she walked. Suddenly she bumped into someone hard. "Oi!" She yelled nearly .

Sophia was shopping around Diagon Alley for some quill, parchment and new healer robes for work that she needed. Not really paying attention to where she was walking she bumped hardly into someone making her bags go flying. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry I wasn't watching where I was going."said Sophia softly as she bent down and picked up her things. As she did she noticed she bumped into her best friend Sally Ruby who she knew from school. "Sally oh my gosh, it been forever since I saw you!'"said Sophia giving her a soft warm smile.

As she must have sworn she saw tears coming down her cheeks her smile faded and turned into a frown. "Sally what's wrong?"Sophia asked her softly as her eyes turned gold with worry and sadness inside of them. Sophia never seen Sally this upset, she wondered what was wrong but as she seen the Daily Prophet in her hands looked at it.

Sally's eyes widen as she recognized Sophia's voice. "Sophia!" She said tears streaming down her face now. She hugged Sophia crying into her shoulder. "My cousin, Sally Emerald?, she was found killed and they announced all over the Daily Prophet that she was a...aa ....a Death Eater!" She wailed. "I can't believe it." She said backing off of Sophia so Sophia could have some space since she pretty much attacked her with the hug. "I didn't even get to say goodbye to her! And she was murdered right where I was. Right next to the Three Broomsticks!" She said wiping the tears away.

Sophia looked at Sally shocked when she said her cousin Sally Emerald was dead another good friend of Sophia's. Sophia couldn't believe it, Sally always seemed like a very strong and independent girl or shall she say women to her. Sophia pulled her into her a hug trying to calm her down. "Sh... Sal, it'll be ok I promise."said Sophia softly. "I'm sorry you didn't get to sat goodbye, but I know how you feel I really do."said Sophia softly. "To much deaht is happening now days, I just wish it would all end."said Sophia softly said Sophia still hugging Sally.

Sophia knew that Sally Emerald was a deaht eater but she promise not to tell anyone and she didn't she kept her word. Sally Emerald was a good friend to Sally and they went to school together and were in the same classes together and even worked together at times. Sophia held back tears for she wanted to be wrong for her best friend Sally.

All Sally could do was nod and return the hug she just got out of. "Can.. Can we go somewhere where no one is watching." She muttered as she noticed people started to stop and stare at them. She just wanted to go and hide in a hole for a while. She could not get Sally's body laying on the ground in the picture like that out of her mind. Sally heaved trying to control her breathing so she wouldn't go into a panic attack.

Sophia nodded. "Come on, lets go get some ice cream it might make you feel little bit better."said Sophia softly almost in the same tone as Sally used but alittle louder. Sophia glared at the people staring at them as her eyes turned red in anger telling them to walk away before there was trouble. Sophia would do anything to help Sally her best friend for she was like a sister to her and she promised to take care of Sally if anything happened to her. "Don't worry Sal, she'll always be with you just remember that and hold that close to you."said Sophia softly. Sophia knew it was hard for she was still struggling over her mothers death herself so she knew it wasn't easy.

Sally nodded "Yeah... ice cream" She muttered. Sally let a few more tears escaped as they walked to the ice cream shoppe. "I don't understand it though, Sally was so strong and tough. Why did she go without a fight? It doesn't make any sense at all." She muttered again. Really that was the truth usually her cousin Sally wouldn't do anything with out fighting back, but the paper said that Sally didn't even fight the woman who murdered her. Sally knew her cousin could have killed the other woman faster then that woman could speak, so why did Sally hold out? It all confused her so much.

Sophia looked at Sally and shrugged. "I don't know Sal I wondered the same thing, maybe it happend to fast and she couldn't react."said Sophia softly. It could have happened but she always knew for Sally to have her wand up her sleeve. "There's alot to me that doesn't make either Sal, so don't feel bad."said Sophia softly as she bit her lip thinking. Sophia bit her lip thinking but as she did nothing made a ounce of sense to her at all which was weird. Sophia was usually the one to be able to figure things out but this one she couldn't at all which was bugging her.

Sally sighed wiping away the last of her tears and walked into the ice cream shoppe giving one last glare to the people still watching them leave. She went straight to a booth in the back corner so not to get much attention and so her and Sophia could talk privately. she was still trying to figure this out, She knew of Sally's tricks and knew Sally was never caught of guard, even if she was a sleep Sally always had a plan. Sighing she ordered a vanilla ice cream in a bowl when the waiter came to their table. "Thanks" she muttered passing over some coins and watched as the waiter looked at Sophia for her order.

Sophia followed her into the ice cream shoope with anger and sadness in her eyes. Sophia wanted to get to the bottom of this if it was the last thing she did. "May I have a scoop of strawberry ice cream in a cup?"Sophia asked the waiter nodded and walked off. Looking out the window Sophia sighed and ran her hands through her hair but snapped back into reality as the waiter set down her ice cream. "Thankyou, and keep the rest."said Sophia softly as she gave him some money. Eating her strawberry ice cream in silent Sophia wondered how much more pain she could take she already lost her mother and a close friend.
