What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Just sitting in the stands Empty Just sitting in the stands

Post by Sally Ruby Thu Sep 30, 2010 11:46 pm

Sally walked on to the qudditch grounds. She had nothing to do and she was very bored. She brought her Firebolt with her in case she felt like flying around a bit. nobody was out today and it was very quiet. She sighed very loudly and walked up into the stands to sit before she rode about on her broom. "hopefully someone comes out as well its so boring here" she thought aloud scanning the grounds for anyone. Seeing no one she grabbed her broom, jumped on and flew around the field.

Just sitting in the stands Empty Re: Just sitting in the stands

Zhanna had woken up early and quickly exited the ship, not wanting to be near the water. After her daily jog had been completed, and then her shower, and breakfast, and she had again exited the Durmstrang ship, nervously avoiding the water, her need for isolation seemed to not have been abated. Though she could not tell if she wanted to be antisocial, or she just needed to feel some fire... It was becoming worse, her compulsion with her lighter, but she had no intention to stifle it.

She scanned the grounds and saw activity beginning in the castle; definitely not somewhere she wanted to be. The girl obsessed with fire still had not warmed up to this school... Funny how she was considered an ice queen of sorts, and the one thing she could not live without... Hmmm...

She felt the itch growing inside of her and she knew she needed to find somewhere to escape to. She veered for the Quidditch pitch and took off at a calm pace, though her hand was slipped in her pocket, tightly holding the cold, metal lighter in her own cold hand, feeling as though it was almost an extension of her own arm. She entered the pitch and quickly withdrew it, flicking it open and flicking it on. A small flame erupted and she held a hand over it, her fingertips reddening from the heat. Her heart thumped wildly.

She suddenly noticed the glint of her metal lighter and saw that it was shooting a glare which happened to be hitting.... an airborne rider. She quickly flicked the lighter shut, though the glare jerked towards the rider's eyes. Zhanna had not thought to check the air for people and now she would pay. She pushed the lighter into her pocket and strode toward the stands, deciding she could disappear there if need be.

Sally was riding through the sky with ease as if it was natural to her and then something blinded her. A glint of light from down below, she swayed across the skys. Regaining her grip on her broom she looked down and saw someone walking to the stands and saw what had blurred her vision for the split second. it was a light! who would be so foolish as to not to check the skies. i might as well go and investigate she thought and zoomed towards the stands.

"What in the devil was you thinking?! I could have fallen off my broom!" she shouted before she touched ground. she ran up to the girl walking towards the stands. "What is your name? You dont look to be a student of Hogwarts" she said to the girl who she might have just fighten. Sally's red eyes were flameing and she could care less who she scared she nearly fell off her broom and she wanted an explannation.

Just sitting in the stands Empty Re: Just sitting in the stands

Zhanna sat at a seat and began to sift through the lightweight bag she had brought with her, hoping that the rider would have not noticed or else would ignore it since Zhanna was obviously a foreign, which most of the natives thought meant that they did not know any better and were ignorant or something. She really did not want to deal with people at the moment.

But it seems that fate would never be kind to her, hence she was never kind to fate in return. The rider zoomed down and dismounted, approaching Zhanna in a self-pronounced huff. Zhanna lifted a delicate eyebrow and her mouth twisted slightly, a glint forming in her eye, though she kept a cool exterior otherwise. The girl exploded on her.

In her slight, yet obvious, accent Zhanna replied, "I apologize, but why would I do that on purpose. I apologize but there is really no reason to be crass." She said this all on a level voice, revealing nothing more than her cool expression would allow. The girl asked her name, a weighty demand seeing as she had just verbally abused her, but Zhanna was one for outward appearances so she said in a cold, smooth voice, "That's because I am not. Zhanna Charkov. I attend Durmstrang."

Sally stood there embarrased for a second she hadnt relized that the girl wasnt a student here. She quickly changed her mood, frowning she answered." I am dreadfully sorry i thought you might have been another gryffindor," she huffed " I hate them they are so, so well its very well hard to explain." she paused "I'm Sally Ruby, I am a Slytherin and proud of it.' she boasted. " I see that i am intrrupting you shall i leave?" She asked Zhanna not knowing if Zhanna would like company or not.

Zhanna squinted her eyes a millimeter more or so, her eyes narrowing on the girl who had obviously recognized her mistake in being so rude right off the bat. There was a level of formality and propriety that seemed to abide all guest and host relationships- especially those concerning foreign students- and that she had broken all of the rules defining that code by casting such a weighty accusation upon Zhanna for such an easily fixed situation.

Zhanna did not know much about the Hogwarts houses besides that they were divided by basic characteristics and good qualities. Rivalries would often be expected, though Zhanna felt a cold weight drop into her stomach at the snideness the girl exuberated, causing a cold to spread from her core towards her outer being.

"I was not aware that to be a Gryffindor was a punishable offense, I am not envious of their fate." Though she said this professionally, it was obviously meant to be sarcastic and slightly demeaning towards the girl's snap judgment, though Zhanna was not being much better by judging her. At the girl's question, she said in her cold, biting voice, "There is nothing to interrupt. I am merely resting."

"hmm is that so?" Sally sighed "I am sorry for my actions i have anger issues and from that distence i could have sworn you were a Gryffindor, and it isnt a punishable offense its just a long time riverly between Gryffindor and Slytherin." she was starting to be defensive and saw that she needed to cool down. Sally sighed, took a deep breath "So yoou wouldnt mind company? its really boring and i dont feel like flying much now" she asked

Zhanna nodded slowly, almost looking cautious in the way her eyes stayed on the girls face, still narrowed as though she could see past the girl's excuses and the defenses she was building up. Zhanna knew she had a knack for making people feel uncomfortable because she had a piercing gaze that made you feel exposed under it, as though she knew your true character...

Her eyes looked her up and down once, unperturbed by the fact that she was doing what she had just accused her of; judging her. Such things did not bother Zhanna. She would deal with her life and others could worry about theirs. The girl explained her snappy assumption that as a Gryffindor, nothing good was expected and she nodded slowly, her eyes traveling to her face.

"Hmmm..." she said thoughtfully, though in a slightly bored voice, as though she was not completely convinced by her response. Rivalries she did not doubt. There were factions at Durmstrang as she was sure there was in every other school in the world. She did not think it excused such unprofessional behavior though. Zhanna paused at her question. She always minded company, though that would not to for appearances, so she said in a neutral tone, "I have no reason to oppose nor protest." Zhanna language for 'yes, you may sit here.'

Sally's eyes narrowed she was still extremely tired from no sleep so she just nodded and sat her broomstick down and sat a good 15 inches away from Zhanna. She was getting the impression that she wasnt wanted but she didnt care she'd sit here in slience if she had to and just talk to herself in her mind. She snickered to herself at the thought of talking to herself. it seemed absurd but then again most things at the school were."hmm now im wishing that was a Gryffindor, this girl isnt so pleasant its like she has my additude. hmm now i know why people dont like me much" she thought sitting in a slience that she didnt want to break.

"Maybe i shouldnt have yelled, we'd probably would have got off on a better note, im an idiot sometimes."she was thinking. She pondered that thought over and tried to have thought of a different way she couldnt have aporached Zhanna. "hmmm I havent a clue i mean really what person not to think to check the skies for riders her or all people should know this Victor krum came from her school." she kept thinking and couldnt come up with any explannations and sighed.

Zhanna and the girl sat in uncomfortable silence, though Zhanna was perfectly fine with allowing the silence stretch as long as possible. It was not her job to tend to the comfort of the Hogwarts cretins- no, she was their guest. As the host school, the students were supposed to be warm and inviting, not awkward and silent. Zhanna thought they all needed a lesson in that.

However, Durmstrang discipline also taught that they were all superior and had better morals than the dunces from the other schools and she felt maybe the best way to teach the Hogwarts fools was to set a precedent. A goal, if you will, that they could shoot for- though she knew they would all hopelessly fall short. With loaded words, Zhanna said proudly, "Vill you be entering the tournament? Ve at Durmstrang, well those of us who came, are all doing so."
