Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Melted Ice-cream, Melting Conversations. Empty Melted Ice-cream, Melting Conversations.

Tapping his foot against the chair opposite him, Elijah played with the ice cream he purchased a little over half an hour prior. His dark eyes were unseeing but they followed the progressively melting mixture of vanilla, chocolate and strawberry as it dripped off of the spoon. Shaking his head, Elijah dropped the spoon into the glass float before turning to the sketchbook in his lap. He picked up his pencil and absent mindedly began to draw. As usual it was a bunch of lines at first but then they began to form a picture, a face with no definition. He needed someone to draw but the people inside the parlour seemed to be either busy with whoever they’d taken with them or had their faces in their ice-cream.

Eli shook his head again and put the sketchbook on the table. He ran his hand through his hair and got up. He put his bag on the chair he’d been sat on and walked over to the counter where the server was stood. She eyed him angrily but Elijah ignored her, taking his wallet out of his pocket as he looked at what flavours there were on offer. “Chocolate and Caramel.” He said quietly. The server narrowed her eyes at him and huffed before beginning to make his order. She knew what\t he was like. He would pay for it but he wouldn’t eat it. He’d just sit there for an hour or two before finally leaving, chucking about ten galleons too much onto the table as he went. He was probably only paying for the seat anyway. The Ice Cream Parlour just seemed like a good place to think. He’d only eat what he paid for if he brought his daughter but that was rare now as she mostly spent her time in Bulgaria; much to Elijah’s chagrin.

Ailia, Sterling's cat, in arms, Sterling made his way inside the ice cream parlor. He was still drunk from his first firewhisky, and was trying to clear his head. It was pouring rain outside, so he was absolutely drenched. He got in line behind a fifth year Slytherin, hoping to get a Wake Up Alky, the ice cream that reversed the effects of alcohol. He was currently crooning over his cat, who was falling asleep in his arms.

He moved the cat into one arm and opened the book he was reading. Best not try the Breeze Charm in here... people might be angry with him for doing so. He thought of how disastrous it was LAST time he'd inadvertently hit somebody with it...

"Sorry," he said nonchalantly to the figure receiving his ice cream in front of him as he accidentally stepped on his foot.

The woman’s chuntering was starting to irritate Elijah now. She clearly didn’t want to waste ice cream on him again. Eli sneezed abruptly and the woman glared at him before slapping his ice cream bowl onto the counter. Lazily, Elijah handed her the money and she pocketed it before taking the other orders. Eli picked the ice cream bowl up and felt something hard hit his foot. He looked over and saw someone holding a cat and a book. Whoever they were they were clearly intoxicated and Elijah wondered idly how well the person could hold his alcohol.

Smiling a little, Eli shrugged. “S’okay.” He mumbled his voice a deep rumble in his chest. He absent-mindedly scratched his face, the soft hair on his chin brushing against his fingers. “Firewhisky?” he questioned idly before turning and miming to the server that he needed a spoon. She scowled and pulled open one of the drawers in the dresser – probably hoping to find a knife to bludgeon him with.

Sterling nodded, it was firewhisky. "My first... thought it was tea, drank the whole thing before I noticed."

Sterling was vaguely aware he must be coming off as extremely arrogant and idiotic. He hiccupped to add to the effect and just stared onward, bleary eyed.

He started fiddling with his wand absently, which sent sparks in the stranger's face. Oooh, that wouldn't exactly strengthen their relationship...

It was nigh on impossible for Elijah not to look at the person before him as if he had three heads. How someone could down Firewhisky without even noticing was beyond his comprehension and he didn’t truly think he wanted to know how this person had managed it, either. Clearing his throat a little, Elijah looked down at the float of ice cream which was already beginning to melt in the humidity of the air. Being out of the freezer was probably a shock to the steadily defrosting treat. He pushed the spoon around absent-mindedly and looked over at the freezers that were keeping the strange food cool. It was ingenious really – if you actually thought about it.

Something odd hit him in the cheek and it brushed across the bridge of his nose and hit him on the other cheek before disappearing completely. He wrinkled his nose and reached up to push his long hair out of his eyes. He met the gaze of the decidedly very hung-over person before him and smiled a little before letting his dark locks flop back into his eyes. Eli felt his cheeks heat up and he bit his lip before turning his head away slightly; forgetting that his hair would fall away from his cheeks and expose the blood that had risen to the surface. He chewed on his bottom lips for a few moments before putting the ice cream on the counter. The assistant looked at him despairingly and his cheeks flushed with colour once again, “Vanilla, please.” He murmured.
