Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Morning at the Dent's Empty Morning at the Dent's

Post by Khaat Lupin Mon Feb 15, 2010 1:10 am

Khaat woke to see Rob beside her sound asleep. She had to check her hand to make sure the wedding rings were still there. Khaat Dent. Mrs. Robert Dent. She loved the sound of it in her head. It had been a lovely day yesterday, and her parents had taken the kids so they had the house alone. She laid her hand on her stomach. Her father said there was a little life there. But so far it just felt like she had gained a few pounds. No sensation of life yet.

And Rob--well, he was just magnificent in every way. She believed Heaven made him just for her. She even liked his quirky family. Probably more than he did. He'd have just accused her of being blinded by love. Now, she loved the sound of his even breathing as he slept. Not that they had slept that much. She didn't know why she wasn't tired, but she never remembered of feeling more alive. And, maybe, just maybe, she didn't have to rush off to go hunt down a vampire, or some dishonest sort of crazy monster who wanted to off her for some bizarre reason. Maybe she could let that be now. Or at least for today. She wanted to commit to it for a lifetime, but just like she knew he wasn't going to commit to never getting trashed at the pub again, she wasn't sure she could stop being Remus's soldier.

He was in a sound sleep, so she slipped out of bed, went downstairs and brewed coffee, and fixed a tray and brought it upstairs and put it next to his bed where the smell of rich, fresh coffee started to fill the room. She crawled back in beside him and kissed him over and over softly, lightly, to wake him.

Morning at the Dent's Empty Re: Morning at the Dent's

The covers on the bed enveloped Rob in a protective, warm cocoon. Even as he slept the smell of sex hung in the air. It was a musk that he'd gotten used to smelling over the years and it even began to permeate his dreams. He wasn't dreaming today, though. He was just sound asleep enjoying the warmth and the feeling of Khaat lying next to him. Yesterday had been a good day most definitely. He'd gotten married and found out that he had an elder brother. He'd also been tormented by Matt but that wasn't an issue because the frosting on that cake was good.

He felt something warm and soft tickling his lips and his brain registered immediately what it was. Khaat's lips had a distinctive shape and feel to them and although Rob didn't open his eyes he was completely awake. Slowly, he began to respond to the kiss. HIs hand travelled up her leg and he wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling his wife flush against him. He broke the kiss after a few moments and opened his eyes.

"Can I wake up to that every day?" he asked in interest, taking his wife's relaxed image. She was beautiful all of the time but she looked so natural with her rumbled up hair and make up-less face. They were both at peace with each other -- that much was evident.

Morning at the Dent's Empty Re: Morning at the Dent's

Post by Khaat Lupin Mon Feb 15, 2010 1:51 am

"God, I hope so," She whispered. "I can't think of a better way to greet the start of the rest of my life than to wake up and see you right here beside me. I want to look into those gorgeous eyes every morning. I won't ever get tired of that. I brought up some coffee. I figured you might want some--eventually. Right now, I just want you." She kissed him deeply and passionately. "You know, not every man would put up with my parents' protectiveness," she said. "I am so glad you didn't give up. They really like you. And me, well, I'm sorry, but you are so stuck with me. Sorry to break that to you, but I don't plan on going anywhere." She began just kissing him softly and caressing him. She didn't want him to be able to think of anything but her for a very, very long time.

It was strange, because as much as she loved being here with him, her mind wandered to trying to figure out, with all the magic she knew how to do, how could it be more perfect? Flowers? Maybe more flowers? Nah. New decor? Something exotic--like out of the Arabian nights? Nah. Strawberries coated in chocolate ganache for breakfast? Nah. Much as her mind wandered, she couldn't come up with anything to make it better. Sometimes magic just was no help whatsoever.

She found herself laughing softly, in the middle of kissing his chest, distracted entirely by the strangeness of her own mind. "Did you ever think about how useless magic is when everything is already so perfect?" she asked, still laughing.

Morning at the Dent's Empty Re: Morning at the Dent's

Post by Baldric Pierson Mon Feb 15, 2010 11:47 pm

He felt happy and that was odd for him. Of course everyone is happy - it's a normal human emotion - but Rob felt truly happy to be where he was then. He listened to Khaat, letting his eyes slide closed once more. He wasn't really taking any of it in. He was happy curled up in bed not doing anything and he could do that every day for the rest of his life. He could have stayed in that bed forever, conjuring food when it was required and making sweet love to his wife. However, his daughter's impending birth could be a slightly problem and a wrench in his plans. Perhaps afterwards then.

"Khaat, baby, please... shh.." he silenced her with a kiss and pulled the covers over his head. He was absolutely shattered, not because of the intense work out the night prior but just in general. He felt as if he hadn't slept in at least a month which was in essence probably true. His arm slipped around her waist and he pulled her underneath the covers. Rob kissed her softly and closed his eyes once more. He was kidding himself if he thought his wife was going to let him sleep but he could at least try.

Khaat slid out of his grasp and got up and took her clothes with her. "You go back to sleep," she said softly, "I'm just goijng to shower and then perhaps go see if there's any adventure happening outside someplace." She had no intentions of actually leaving the house, but she wanted to see how fast he would rocket out of the bed when she mentioned going adventuring. It had her grinning from ear to ear mischeviously. She might even apparate into the bistro just to make him wonder where she had gone. It made her laugh out loud as she left the room.

He was out of bed before his brain could even register what she had said. Rob had responded to shower more so than the latter but once his mind had caught up he rushed into the bathroom after Khaat. Rob grabbed her by the waist and spun her around. He pressed her against the wall and scowled at her. He was shocked at how fast he had actually gotten out of bed but this wasn't important. He definitely wasn't going to have her pop out to see if she could get herself killed. Rob's hands trailed down the length of her body and he smirked slightly before kissing her gently. "I think you should rethink your plans for today, Khaat. All of the local vampires have booked their lunch so you're off of the menu... indefinitely."

She laughed uncontrollably. "Did I have you at 'shower' or 'adventure'?" she struggled to talk through her laughter. "You are SOO punked, Robert Dent. I really wasn't going anywhere. Honest. I just wanted to see how quick you could get up. So I can get your attention, huh? I'll have to remember that one." When she quit laughing, she kissed him. "I'm sorry--sort of. Really. See what happens when you leave me to my own devices?" She kissed him now slowly and passionately, "I don't really think you should ever leave me alone again. I might need you. I think I could need you for a very, very long time" She curled tight against him, nuzzling his neck with soft little kisses. " I actually planned to spend the day completely with you. With no interruptions whatsoever."

"Shower." He admitted bashfully before looking serious once more. "But adventure was what had me run in here. Did I get out fast enough for you? Trust me, I'm not going anywhere." He said, leaning down to nibble the skin on her neck. He lifted his head once more and picked Khaat up. They were going to shower together and he was going to get away with whatever he wanted in that shower. Heck, if he had it his way they would christen every room and piece of furniture in the house but Rob knew they'd have to move because he could never stay in a room with a straight face. "I wasn't going to let you out of the house anyway, Mrs. Dent. Plus, I made sure to block of the Fireplace last night. Unless someone breaks in we will definitely not be disturbed."

Morning at the Dent's Empty Re: Morning at the Dent's

Post by Khaat Lupin Tue Feb 16, 2010 1:27 am

"That works for me," She said softly. There was something peacefully soothing about sharing a shower with Rob, even if they didn't really get serious about the showering part for awhile. They seemed to have the same agenda, and she wasn't really sure why they were showering, given the agenda they had. They just seemed to have no ethics, no shame. And that was perfectly fine with her.

What had she been thinking about? Adventure? There was enough adventure right here to last her a good long time. The warrior voice inside her was quiet for a change, and he was the only person her entire life to make that happen. It felt very odd, really. Not to want to go out and hunt something down to try to either vanquish it or conquer it. He had seemed to gotten farther than just under her skin. He had gotten into her soul and knew how to get her to slow down, stop, think--reconsider. No one had ever had that power over her before. Not her parents, not Remus--no one. She had been, to a certain extent, untamable. Rob seemed to be the only person to even have a ghost of a chance at managing that, and she had to admit, he really was working hard at it. And to her surprise, she was finding she was working to meet him halfway. To try to give up all those reckless Gryffindor habits of hers for something different. Remus had drilled into her that there were "some things worth dying for." But she had never considered before Rob that there might be more. That there might be some things worth living for. Her misconception had been that living was less. Cheap, expendable and easily sacrificed. That dying was somehow more noble. Especially if done for the side of right and justice. Well, she was realizing that perhaps Remus had been wrong. Sometimes living was more. Sometimes living was everything.

"You're making a mess out of me, you know," she said, curled under his shoulder later, in one of their soft quiet moments. "I had it all figured out. I thought if all I did was believed and hung onto every syllable I ever heard Remus utter, I would understand life. And you've messed that all up. Now I'm thinking maybe all that 'Dying for Justice is More Noble Than Living' stuff was just his own way of justifying his own murder--to use his dying breath to protect all of us who loved him. His last act--to fill us all full of horsecrap. If I hang around you, I'm going to end up with a housefull of little Rob's and a basket of knitting. And, damn, I don't know how to knit, but I think I'm going to hate it. Right now, I don't know if I'll want to go out adventuring ever again when I can just be here and be perfectly happy. I know that's good with you, but it confuses the daylights out of me. " She kissed him softly and curled into him tightly.
