Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

A P P E A R A N C E
Height: (5'6''
Hair: Elizabeth is incredibly fond of her hair. Her mother always told her, "men have their brooms, women have their hair." While Libby takes pride in her broom as well, she got the point of the message. She has long, dark brown tresses that fall to the middle of her back. Shorter layers frame her face and she refuses to ever have bangs (she had a bad haircut when she was younger and let's just say she learned her lesson). Her hair is naturally shiny, or so she likes to think, but it may be due to all of the expensive products she puts in it. Libby normally leaves her hair cascading down her back, her loose natural waves is her usual style but sometimes she straightens it. She only wears her hair in a ponytail when she is studying or flying. It certain lighting, her hair looks black moreso than brown but she refuses to say that she is anything other than a brunette.
Eye colour: Her eyes may be the feature that most people notice first. They are generally a light shade of blue, sometimes coming off as gray depending on what she is wearing. The color sticks out against her olive toned skin and dark hair. Her almond shaped eyes are framed by thick, lengthy dark eyelashes, which normally sport a fresh coat of mascara. She has a thick, healthy brow with an almost too intense arch.
Skin: She generally has a clear complexion but she has a pretty bad case of bacne which she is really embarrassed of.
General Appearance: Her biggest insecurity is her nose, which she believes is long and pointy. Her nostrils flare out more than she believes that they should, throwing her smaller features off balance. Its also slightly crooked from a childhood incident when her older brother walloped her with a broom after an intense game of Quidditch (he claims she cheated, while she swears she did no such thing). She has full lips, though they are a bit uneven. Her upper lip is much thinner than her bottom. Libby has rather large teeth though they are a brilliant shade of white due to excellent dental hygiene. Her top row of teeth are straight though her bottom row certainly is a bit crooked.

She stands tall at five foot six and has a curvy figure. It wasn't until the beginning of her fifth year that she started to fill out her figure. She's still getting used to looking more like a woman than a young girl. She has a toned, athletic body from being Beater on the house team. She's not exactly slender but she certainly wouldn't be considered obese either - merely in shape.

As a Pureblood, she rarely wears anything but robes, or dress robes, other than when she is going to sleep. While she finds the black robes of Hogwarts boring, she doesn't really have a choice. When she is allowed to dress as she pleases, she enjoys wearing robes in bold colors, such as red or royal purple, preferring to make a statement. Sometimes she goes a little overboard, like wearing canary yellow robes with bright orange shoes. She loves all types of shoes and tries to make them as out-there as possible, finding it her only way to make a statement via her wardrobe at school. Her mother has always found her daughter's style a little far-fetched but as long as she dresses appropriately for formal functions, she doesn't complain all that much.

Elizabeth walks with a sense of confidence which most probably see as more cocky than anything. Her appearance is well put together - cleanliness is next to godliness. She has nothing that truly makes her stick out from the rest except for her darker skin tone, thanks to the italian blood that runs on her father's side.

General Personality: Elizabeth Dugger is a walking contradiction; she is both the best and worst of both worlds. One moment she can be authoritative and demanding while the next she can be weak and submissive, she could be a loving, tender person and within the hour can be one of the most spiteful beings around, and so forth. She still has a way to go before she will be able to get a firm grasp on who she is as a person and until then, she'll be someone who others may have a hard time defining. She is a girl of many faces and acts, one who is insanely unpredictable to those who don't know her very well. Though, despite her personality which seems to shift unnaturally often, there are a few character traits that remain stable.

When it comes to family and friends that she truly cares about, she is fiercely loyal. If someone close to her trusts her with a secret, she'll take it to the grave. Libby will also stick up for her friends under any circumstances. She can be a bit overprotective of those she cares about, almost to a fault, but she believes that anyone who has somehow earned her trusts deserves the utmost loyalty from her. Because she is so picky about choosing her close circle of friends, she doesn't have many of them and prefers it that way. Libby has always believed that having a few friends you could truly count on was better than having a whole bunch that you always had to question. This isn't to say that she isn't nice to others but simply that she wouldn't trust them any further than she could throw them.

Another trait that remains stable is that she is an analytical being through and through. Elizabeth is not one to act on her emotions; she is certainly not impulsive. She is one who needs to sit back and truly look at all aspects of a situation before she decides how she is going to react. This is not only true in social situations but her analytical thinking shows through her school work. She enjoys learning, especially Transfiguration, which she believes is a course that takes logic. This quality also leads to her distaste for Divination, a subject that is guesswork, smoke and mirrors sort of trickery rather than something that requires actual intelligence. This also is one of the reasons that she is such a big fan of Wizard's Chess - all logic and analytical thinking; its right up her alley.

The one trait that dominates all of her others is her determination. . She hardly ever lets obstacles stand between her and what she wants. Whenever she sets her mind on something, she will do absolutely whatever it takes to obtain her desire - even if it involves being ruthless or cheating. Her determination can make her rather stubborn, debates with her may seem pointless as she is very slow to accept anyone's point of view. She loves competition and will never hide the fact that she loves to win. Winning competitions is like a drug for the sixteen year old and it always has been.

One of her biggest downfalls is that she is somewhat of a habitual liar. Sometimes her lies are rather obvious, she isn't always the most skilled liar, but when something is really on the line, she is able to lie through her teeth effortlessly. Sometimes she lies about big things but most of the time its the small stuff she's dishonest about. If someone asks her an uncomfortable question, needs to get out of trouble, or just finds herself in an awkward situation she will lie without hesitation or conscious thought. Another one is that she can be incredibly unforgiving. If someone has wronged her, she will not forget it quickly and is the queen of holding grudges. She normally tries to get revenge on those people. However, she won't forget if someone does a favor for her or any random acts of kindness. She will also make sure to reciprocate the action. She is not one who likes to be in debt to others and has never been in that sort of situation for long.

Family Information:
Annabelle Eplee [Key], 39, Works at the Ministry of Magic (Werewolf Registry)
Lucas Eplee, 40, Unspeakable
Andrew Dugger, 17, Student
Childhood: Elizabeth Dugger was born on a dark and stormy night, or that's what her father always said when he told the story, in Killarney, Ireland. Apparently, she had been a pretty hefty baby. Her parents took care of her for the most part until she was about four years old, then it was mainly her grandmother that watched over she and Andrew. Her grandmother was practically blind and spent all of her time knitting, she hardly paid attention to her two grandchildren. It was then that she and Andrew became incredibly close. He was a whole year older, which seemed like a big deal at the time, and he took his little sister under his wing, somewhere she gladly wanted to be. She idolized him and mimicked his every move, something that he probably found annoying but never really complained about.

During these early, golden years of childhood, Elizabeth felt as though she couldn't ask for more. Sure, she would have liked to see her parents more frequently than she did, but whenever she did see them they always loaded both her and Andrew with presents, something no child will truly ever complain about. Now, when she looks back, she can't help but feel slightly resentful towards her parents for feeling as though they could buy the love of their children...but she thinks she may be judging them a little harshly. When she was seven she got her first broom and Andrew showed her all his tricks and the rules of Quidditch immediately. It wasn't long until they were flying around their backyard (they lived far out in the country in a small cabin). The two would often speculate about what Hogwarts would be like and what house either would be in. Andrew thought he'd be like his mother and end up in Ravenclaw, while Libby felt she'd more than likely follow in her father's footsteps, landing her in Slytherin but she wouldn't mind any of the houses...well as long as it wasn't Hufflepuff. Her parents had never spoken highly of that house.
Hogwarts: When Libby finally stepped into the great school of Hogwarts herself, she was incredibly overwhelmed. After the Sorting Ceremony, she was most eager to start her classes. The young girl immediately fell in love with Transfiguartion, as well as Potions. She also discovered rather quickly that History of Magic was not going to be one of her better classes - she wasn't all that great at memorizing dates and names. She spent most of her time during her first few years focusing on her schoolwork and giving her social life little attention. She accumulated a few friends, and of course had her brother, and that had always been enough for her. Elizabeth also focused on her flying, hoping to make the Quidditch team when she was a bit older...something she had wanted to do since she got her first broom; wear her house colors and hopefully win the Cup. She's allowed to dream big, right?

Her times at school were full of social endeavors however school always took the front seat, followed closely by Quidditch. She had a handful of close friends, though she didn't trust most of them further than she could throw them. She had decided at an early age that most people only befriended her to have a good time, not to stick around in the long haul. Elizabeth certainly wasn't going to be the one whom was taken advantage of. She has had a few crushes but never dates. She has a bit of a promiscuous reputation around the school because she is comfortable with herself and incredibly flirtatious - a little too much so. But she's really far from it. She has done excellent in most subjects, though of course not all. Transfiguration and Potions would be her best classes. Her worst? Care of Magical Creatures and Herbology.

Short Roleplay: Quidditch practice was really starting to take its toll on the everlasting pile of homework that Elizabeth Dugger had acquired recently. Normally she was able to balance everything easily, it had been something she was good at, but with the heavy workload that was only too characteristic of a sixth year, her good luck was starting to buckle. She trudged off the field and walked her way up the familiar path leading back to the castle, her mind trying to remember what all she should be doing at that moment. She needed to work on her Potions essay, that was most imperative because it was due the following morning, but she also had a handful of other things that would be due the day after that. How had she let herself fall so far behind? While she loved Quidditch, schoolwork had always been of the utmost importance, taking the backseat to nothing else. But it seemed as though it had slipped through the cracks when she hadn't been looking and that irritated the Slytherin girl to no end.

Before she was going to allow herself being seen in public however, she was going to have to clean herself up a bit. Appearance was everything. She quickly made her way down towards the dungeons and into her common room. The room was littered with Slytherin students. She could overhear some of the chatter, things like 'I beat up a Hufflepuff' and 'I hexed the snot out of this Gryffindor,' brought a cold, malicious smile to the girl's face. Ah, these were definitely her kinds of people. She gave a few of the ones who said things like this a congratulatory pat on the back followed by a smile before making her way to her dormitories. She quickly changed out of her flying robes and into her school ones, proudly wearing the Slytherin emblem. She let down her ponytail, letting her hair fall gracefully down her back in soft waves. Grabbing a nearby towel, she started rubbing off the dirt on her face, becoming much more presentable by the second. When she finally deemed herself good and ready, she grabbed her immensely heavy schoolbag and headed towards the library, her mind determined on getting some of this work done or she might very well go insane.

The library was brimming at the moment, which wasn't too surprising. Around this time normally it was chalk full of students who were trying to get their work done at the last minute. She normally felt agitated by their laziness but with a jolt, she realized that she was no different from them that day, she too had allowed herself to work on something at the last minute. A scowl graced her face as her calculating blue eyes scanned the room for an empty seat that was far away from any Hufflepunks or Gryffindorks. She had to walk around the library quite a bit before she found herself a suitable table, one that was tucked away in a corner far away from prying eyes and distraction. She set her things down on the table, setting them all out mechanically and precisely, looking much as though she had some sort of obsessive-compulsive disorder. But it wasn't long before she had finally gotten herself situated and set down to work.
