HOW THE TOURNAMENT WILL GO

There are 12 duelers in the tournament. The dueling tournament will have 4 rounds.

First round:
The first round will be two vs. two battles. Whichever pair wins the battle will advance to the second round while the other two will be knocked out. Communication with your partner therefore is crucial in this round.

Second Round:
With six people out of the duel, there will be only six left. Which will leave 3 pairs of one on one duels. The person who wins will go to the third round.

Third Round:
With only 3 people left, this will be a every man for themselves battle, a three way one. One person will be eliminated in this round.

Final Round:
A one on one duel between the two best duelers at Hogwarts!

HOW DUELS WILL WORK

BIG NOTE: On every one of your posts, you should have an OOC section saying what spells you used, what they do, how you used it. This will award extra points!

We will have judges! Vincent Majere and Jemma Tiquelle will be the judges, and perhaps James Wilson as well. This is solely OOC of course.

So what will you be judges on? Not the length of your posts but how good your posts are really. You also have to be realistic, as being unrealistic will lead to a lot of marks being taken off. Read Ethics of dueling at the Educational Decrees as that will lead you to the right direction

Of course, first years will be at a disadvantage, but

The duels should be... 2 or 3 pages long. Perhaps longer if its in the first or third round as its with more than two people. Each round will last one or 2 weeks. We'll stop them at a certain point then award the marks and say who will move forward.

If your character does not post for 6 days, he or she will be disqualified

What do you get for winning?

First place: A big nice picture on top of your avatar which says "Hogwarts Dueling Champion"
Second and Third place: A text saying "Hogwarts dueling runner up" oh well.

NOTE: Wilson is a judge, of course :-D It is his classroom and class, after all! :-D
