Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Finding Out;; Thomas Tangleton Empty Finding Out;; Thomas Tangleton

Post by Guest Sat Jun 13, 2009 10:20 pm

Davina was sitting in the Owlery. She had been told there was a letter for her. She assumed it was from her parents, after all, nobody else wrote to her. She was looking through all of the school birds trying to find the one for herself. She found her letter. It was her mum's writing, she could tell. Strange, as usually her dad wrote the letters.

Davina sat down on the seat and opened it. She read it through. Again and again. She took a deep breath. It couldn't be true, could it? She hoped it wasn't. She wasn't crying, oddly enough. Most people would be crying if they had just read that. Davina wasn't though, she didn't ever cry. She couldn't remember crying. Even as a baby she didn't cry much. She was upset though. She took the letter and sat in a corner. She was glad the Owlery was empty. She didn't want to speak to anyone. She was so angry. How could they have done this? She thought they were good people? She had never got on with her father, but still, this made her angry and upset. She didn't know what she was feeling. She crouched on the floor, the letter in her hands. She didn't want to go anywhere. She would just stay here. She wanted to wake up from this nightmare she was living in.

Finding Out;; Thomas Tangleton Empty Re: Finding Out;; Thomas Tangleton

Thomas had been awaiting this day for three days now. He had been hanging out near the owlery awaiting for Davina to make a trip up there. He was not sure how long it would take, or when she would even go up there, but he often checked to see if she was there. He was not sure if his plan would work, but he had high hopes for it. Then, when he spotted her, he smiled. Quickly, he hid and then he left her alone inside for a few moments. He had made sure there was an owl inside with a letter for him so that it would not look suspicious, and then finally he went in, pretending not to see her and making his way over to the owl that held his letter. Casually he opened it and read it, pretending not to see Davina.

Davina was so absorbed in her thoughts that at first she didn't notice when Thomas entered the Owlery. She was just sitting there, thinking over what she had just read. There was no denying it. Her mother wouldn't lie. She could tell by the blotches and messy writing at certain points that this letter had been hard for her to write. It was...had been...her husband. Davina looked down. She kept a straight face. She could handle this. She could get through this.

Davina looked up as she thought she heard someone else. She was right. It was none other than Thomas Tangleton. The Dark Magic dude, as she thought of him. He seemed to be reading a letter, so she didn't bother him. Maybe he wouldn't notice her, she thought. It was so typical, every time she was near him she was sitting down on the floor so it looked like she was hiding. She sighed. She couldn't believe the Ministry. She just couldn't. This was when the supposedly good side was controlling them! She didn't think of them as so good at the moment.

As Thomas was reading his letter, he heard her sigh and decided it was his time. He turned around, looking like he was trying to figure out where the sigh came from. He pretended to spot her and when he did, he looked at her curiously for a few seconds. "My my, every time we see each other it seems to be in the dark. What brings you here?" he quickly walked over to her and then stop, pretending to see the upset look on her face and then he reacted "Why, you seem distraught." He quickly walked over to her and he sat down next to her, looking her over giving her a false sense of comfort.

"What is it? What happened?"

Davina saw Thomas come over to her. Despite everything he had said the other day, he was really nice to her. How many 'bad' people tried to comfort you and see how you were? No matter what he did, he was a nicer person. To her, at least. He was asking her how she was. He sounded concerned and he sat down by her.

Davina decided to be honest. "My...my dad's been murdered. By the Ministry! Aparently there was some attack which he got in the middle of by accident, he works for the Ministry, and they killed him! I thought Death Eaters were bad but the Ministry...they're killing innocent people!" she said all in one go. She didn't usually open up but she was in such a weird mood she was acting really oddly. She was doing unusual things, like talking. She was on the verge of tears. She probably seemed really weak now, but she was beyond the point of carying anymore. She hoped Thomas wouldn't mind. He seemed to be nice though, she didn't think he'd mind.

Thomas listened to her story and he put his hand on her back to comfort her and make her feel like someone was there. This was going perfectly according to plan. "The Ministry is a joke, I could have told you that, but whoever told you the Death Eaters were the bad guys, they were sadly mistaken. How many people have the Ministry sentenced to death? How many people have the Ministry killed on "accident" trying to fight off the Death Eaters? The Ministry are the bad guys, the Death Eaters are like the freedom fighters, ridding the world of all the evil."

He shifted in his seat and continued to pat her on the back, trying his best to be gentle and nice about it. "I cannot bring your father back, no one can, and I am deeply sorry about your fathers loss. But I can offer you a chance to get back at the Ministry... a chance to get revenge."

Thomas was being so nice to her. He was right, the Ministry was a joke. A stupid prank. "Yeah, the Ministry is stupid." she agreed, as she was really annoyed at them. Thomas was right, they had made so many errors in the past, killed innocent people, sentenced wrong people to Azkaban. What made them better than anyone else? They seemed like the bad guys to Davina after they'd killed her father. Thomas was helping her forget the fact that it was purely by accident.

Davina knew nothing would bring her father back. She wished she had seen him, just one more time... She wasn't going to cry. She was stronger than that. She was liking the idea of revenge. Her anger was building up against the Ministry, partly helped by Thomas. "Revenge is sounding good." she replied. The Ministry deserved it. They had done so much wrong, it was time for a new leader. Someone who wasn't stupid, who knew what they were doing. Thomas was glossing over certain facts to suck Davina in. It seemed to be working...

She was starting to agree with what he said and he could see the revenge building inside of her. She was starting to lose sight of reality and soon revenge would consume her every thought, nothing else would be on her mind, which is exactly what Thomas wanted. He grinned widely "Not just revenge, but satisfaction. So many people want to exact revenge, but once their revenge is taken out, there is nothing afterwards. You must understand that this is not just about the Ministry, but so much more. Not just the Ministry, but so many more people caused your fathers death. I can offer you the chance to get back at all of them. Permanently."

Davina nodded, absent-mindedly. She needed to punish the people who did this to her father, she needed to get back at them. She couldn't let this go. "Revenge. Satisfaction." she repeated, almost as if she were in a chance. She clearly wasn't in reality anymore and Thomas was taking advantage of this. "All involved should be punished. Not just the Ministry." she agreed, still sounding slightly robotic. She didn't even notice the use of Thomas' word 'permanantly' as she was so into the idea of revenge. She wasn't thinking clearly at all. She was thinking in a completely irrational manner. She hadn't experienced any real loss before and this was her reaction towards it. Revenge.
