What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. [[OOC: Don't ask about the weird title xD.]]

Davina was alone in the Trophy Room and Armour Gallery. She had been in that room for at least half an hour, by now. She had been walking around the room, looking at the various trophies. She didn't really know why, she just didn't have much else to do. Sarah and Jasper were in the study room, the Library was too crowded and Ravenclaw Tower was packed with people talking about Quidditch. She just wanted somewhere peaceful, so this is where she had ended up.

Davina was walking around the room, reading every single name on every single trophy. She was that bored. When she got to a certain trophy though, she was quite shocked. It was a tropy from the late 1980s, she couldn't read the exact date. It was the Ravenclaw Quidditch team, when they had won the Quidditch Cup one year. Both of her parents were on it. Matthew Corrispur was the Seeker and Carla Thomas was one of the Chasers. She felt like such a let down, as she read their names. She had never been any good at Quidditch. She tried to put it out of her mind, while moving onto another cabinate. It kept popping back into her thoughts though. She couldn't keep it out.

James had had a headache from all his homework and decided to take a break. He decided to just wander the corridors until he found somewhere to go. He came across the Trophy Hall and almost walked past it, but decided to walk in it, curious because he remembered his father had been the Gryffindor Seeker when he was at Hogwarts. Some of the quidditch must have rubbed off on him for sure.

He was expecting the room to be completely empty but instead found a girl he vaguely remembered seeing before, though he couldn't remember her name. "Hi," he said walking up to her, hoping that she wouldn't be annoyed at him for disturbing her. "Some Quidditch teams we've had in the past here, huh?"

Davina looked up as she heard someone enter the room. She thought she recognised the boy, but she couldn't remember his name. She would have ignored him if he hadn't come over to her. He was a Gryffindor, she figured, by his red tie. She hoped he wouldn't get all annoyed with her being clever and all. She had made enough enemies already, she thought. She didn't set out to make all these enemies, but for some reason she always ended up with lots of them. She put it down to jealousy.

"Hi, I'm Davina," she replied, giving the basic introduction. She hoped this would cause him to introduce himself. She felt weird talking to people if she didn't know their names. Odd, yet true. The boy was lucky that she wasn't in a bad mood that day, sad maybe, but not bad, as she often got annoyed when people talked to her when she was alone. She tried to think of a way to reply to this, other than yeah. Unusually for her, she thought of something. "Yeah, I guess we have," she agreed, "Did your parents play Quidditch at all?" she asked him. She suddenly realised that this could lead to him reversing the question on her and her feeling bad again. Maybe it hadn't been a good question, after all, she thought.

James noticed that the girl didn't seem too annoyed about him saying hi. It's not like it was his fault anyway, he was just a friendly sort of guy. "I'm James Potter," he said, wondering if it would then click in her head who he was.

He paused a second and looked back at the trophy case. "Yeah my dad was seeker on the Gryffindor team when he went to school here. Right out as a first-year too. Really incredible, apparantly that never happened much before him." He replayed her name in his head. Davina was an interesting name, though he was sure after hearing it that he had never heard of it before. He could actually vaguely remember some people telling him that she wasn't exactly the social type. He couldn't really see why, she seemed fine so far. James was always looking for friends.

As soon as he told Davina his name, it clicked. Of course. That was why she recognised him. She tried to show no reaction to this, although some random emotion would probably show through on her face. She was never very good at controlling her emotions. She had read about his father many times. There were so many books about him it was unbelievable. One of the Greatest Wizards of his time, he had been called by many of the current famous wizards. And witches.

"Oh yeah, I've read a lot about your dad." Davina began, but stopped herself. She didn't want to talk about reading. Most people found it boring, but she had no idea why. She had been trying to make friends since...well, since she had ever started Hogwarts, really. She had been trying extra hard in her fifth year though. She didn't talk to many people, only a few Ravenclaws back in the tower. She talked about books with them. She didn't know what to talk about with James. All she knew about him so far was who his family was. She decided to continue on the Quidditch subject. It seemed a safe option, most boys liked Quidditch. "Yeah, my parents played too," she said, absent-mindedly. She didn't show him the trophy incase he thought she was showing off. She had read that people didn't like show-offs.

"Do you play Quidditch?" Davina asked, it was a relatively open-ended question. Maybe he would just go on for ages and then think she was a social person. She wanted to become a social person, she really did. It was just that she didn't know how.

James saw the look on her face and knew she recognized immediately the name. He was used to this reaction from people, so it really didn't bother him. It actually sort of relieved him. When he met someone knew and they already knew about his parents then it would save him a lot more explaining. Though he did admit that it was kind of weird that people read about his own dad in books. Harry had always told James that. Apparantly his Aunt Hermione knew everything about him before she even met him. It was odd.

He was relieved somewhat however that she changed the subject to quidditch. "Yeah, I love Quidditch. Best game ever, even flying in general is such an amazing feeling. I guess I get that from my parents. You're parents played too? Are you on the Ravenclaw team or something? I don't think I recognize you from the teams..But then again sports isn't for everyone." He felt like he was rambling so he shut his mouth to wait for a response.

Davina was glad that she changed the subject. She thought it must be weird to have people reading about your parents. He seemed to like Quidditch, as he talked about it for a while. She didn't mind though. She wasn't that good at talking about herself a lot. She didn't feel at ease with talking to most people. Then again, nobody at Hogwarts really asked her anything about herself, now she came to think about it.

Davina almost felt embarressed that she didn't play Quidditch. She should have really started talking about something she knew more about, but she didn't know what. "Uh, yeah, my dad was a Seeker and my Mum was a Chaser," she briefly explained. "I never tried out for Quidditch really, I haven't done much flying before," she admitted, "I guess I woud be alright as my parents were good but the Ravenclaw Team Captain doesn't like me very much so I never bothered to try out." she tried to give more detail, she really did. She just didn't know what to say. She was hopeless at talking about herself.

James frowned somewhat. "Well that's really stupid that you wouldn't be able to make it just because of the Ravenclaw Captain. It's kinda stupid how they can be sometimes. But you know, if you ever wanna try flying or just play for fun or something to see if you're any good you can always play with me," he said. This girl seemed like she barely had any friends, and she definately needed some. However, he rethought what he had just said and realized it probably sounded a lot more stupid and forward than he had meant it to be.

"You're probably kinda annoyed that I bothered you anyhow," he said and started to slowly back away, but part of him hoped that she would say no that he didn't bother her at all.

Davina was glad that James agreed with her. When she had told one of the other Ravenclaws, they had told her the smart thing to do was get really good, then when he didn't accept you everyone would hate him for not picking her. She didn't want to stir up trouble, though. She had just decided to skip Quidditch. She wondered why her parents had never mentioned it to her. They probably didn't want her to feel bad about letting them down. Which is how she was feeling then.

Davina was surprised that James had invited her to go flying with him. He treated her almost like a friend. This was new for her. She wondered if he only did this because she asked about Quidditch. She didn't want a friend who liked her for someone she wasn't. Then again, she was willing to have any friend at the moment.

When James started to back off, her face showed obvious disappointment. It was like she was transparent. She hated it. "You didn't bother me," she said, hoping it didn't come out in a weird voice.

James stopped and smiled a little. "Good, I'm just making sure. I mean sometimes people think I'm too friendly or something," he said. "Just making sure that didn't bother you. Especially since you seemed to be very peaceful before I had to come talk to you."

Something else popped into his head but he wondered whether he should say it out loud. It was probably going to sound weird, but he really didn't mean it how it was going to sound. She was just a nice person to talk to.

"But I'm glad I did."
