Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

People watching Empty People watching

People watching, it was something Cecilia had grown to be good at. She had found a spot in the Entrance hall to hang out between classes with her book open. To others it would look like she was just reading, but if she lifted her eyes just slightly she could see the people walking past her, she could hear the words they spoke. To her left there was a boy and a girl, they were slightly older than herself, who appeared to be having a disagreement of some sort. Probably a spat between a couple, she was upset he hadn’t sat next to her during breakfast. Close to the massive wooden door that would open to the great hall there were a couple of first years, one of them holding a box of Bertie Botts. Each hoping not to get their least favorite of the unsavory flavors.

It had been quite a while since she had been able to get any time to herself so the second her classes for the day ended, Anabelle found herself dashing for the classroom door once her books had been all packed up. She was excited to have the weekend to herself, without having to deal with owls from her parents. She didn't understand why they continued to bother with her, it was clear they did not care about her interests or grades. Not to say that she was doing bad in her classes by any means, but she was being hounded by them about her NEWTs... that were still a year away. Being the second born to a pureblood family really sucked some times. On her way through the corridors, she stopped to look into a classroom or two, looking for her best friend but it seemed like his class had ended before hers and he'd bolted just as she had from hers.

With a shrug, Anabelle shook her head with a sad smile. Next year she would be on her own as Ryo was graduating at the end of this one. She was sure he would stay close by until she graduated, but what worried her really was after she graduated. The Gryffindor had absolutely no idea what her parents had in store for her and she wasn't sure if Ryo would be able to save her from it like he had with so many things throughout their years together. She truly was blessed to find a friend like him when she did. But she needed to survive on her own, somehow. As she stepped into the courtyard of the school, Anabelle suddenly found herself at a loss, she had wandered here without thinking and now wasn't entirely sure what to do. Homework maybe?

There was a sound as the door close by opened and someone walked out. It was another girl, Cecilia had seen her around the castle, one year older than herself; they had never really spoken to each other before. This girl was normally close to a boy, also older, with blonde hair. Cecilia wondered where he was at. Though the younger girl was watching the other she flipped the page of the book she held, her eyes just visible above the top of the book and her head tilted slightly to one side. Exasperated? Was that the look on the girl's face? No, that didn’t seem right, it had to be something else. But, what? Cecilia couldn’t figure out what was going on in the girls mind. She wished she would say something that would give her a little insite.

Anabelle wondered if she looked strange to others in the area without Ryo there with her. She was never one to want to seem like she was always on someone's arm but Ryo was like the older brother she wish she had and she was very close to him. She's definitely gotten attached, as much as she hated to admit it. There wasn't anything wrong with it, but it still made her curious to know if anyone thought anything of it, as long as others weren't getting the wrong idea, of course. Ryo was her best friend and nothing more.

The Gryffindor was still unsure of what she wanted to do with her time now that she was in the courtyard but as she started walking forward, away from the door. She was supposed to relax since she had time to herself but she could pretty much see that she was going to end up doing her homework so she didn't have to worry about it at the last minute. As she walked she noticed the girl that was sitting down with a book in her hands, the girl looked familiar though Anabelle couldn't say that she had ever truly interacted with her. Her name was Cecilia.. something, if she recalled though her last name escaped her. Anabelle had never done well with names, after all. Deciding there was nothing better to do, the Gryffindor girl walked over to her and put a smile on her face. It was a sad one, though Anabelle was unaware of the fact.

"Hi, Cecilia right? Sorry if I'm bothering you, just wanted to say hi." She tried to be as friendly as possible, though Anabelle was very awkward with greetings.

Well crap, Annabell had noticed her.
It was too late to pretend like she was actually reading the book instead of watching the girl. The only thing left to do was to hope the girl hadn't noticed that she wasn’t reading and had just noticed her sitting and decided to be social. “Uh, Yeah.” she answered the girl doing her best to pretend she hadn’t noticed the older girl walking toward her . “Hi, you’re Annabell?” she didn’t have to ask, it was one of the good things about being the quiet one. You got to know people without having to get to know them. It worked well for Cecilia, she wasn’t the best at social interaction.
